8 Week Challenge: May 24-July 12: weigh in's due monday by 10pm!!
Hey all...
My sister is getting married July 12th and I need some motivation and some challenge from others to shed the last of my baby weight to look hot in the dress! SOOO starting this Saturday I am going to start weighing in every Saturday in hopes of losing 16 lbs in the next 8 weeks! I would hope for more but I know it is only safe to hope for 2 lbs a week!!
So, who is in? Please only reply if you are serious to committing to the whole 8 weeks. The other challenge I joined has fizzled by week 6 and has left me unmotivated!!

Week 1and 2: Water challenge
drink half your body weight in water (e.g. for 180 pounds, you would drink 90 oz)

__According to the Mayo Clinic the recommended water intake for men is 3.0 liters (13 cups) and women is 2.2 liters (9 cups/75 ounces).
Week 3: Fiber Challenge:
*Fiber is the part of plant foods that your body doesn't digest and absorb. There are two basic types: soluble and insoluble. Insoluble fiber adds bulk to your stool and can help prevent constipation. Vegetables, wheat bran and other whole grains are good sources of insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber may help improve your cholesterol and blood sugar levels. According to the Mayo Clinic ,
*Women need 21 to 25 grams of fiber* a day. So that's the goal! Eating fiber helps you feel full too!

Ok, I didnt know if you saw my edited post or not, but i'll post again with my current weight of 173.8. I'm doing really good on my water. Remember though, that if you drink coffee, you have to drink twice the ounces of the coffee back in water, PLUS what you usually drink.

Also, I am waiting until Monday to add any other participants, it is too tedious to do it daily as they roll in.
NOTE: The last challenge I was in people missed weigh ins like crazy, so I propose that if you miss 2 consecutive weigh ins that you are removed from the list. I understand a missed week because of vacations or difficulty with internet or something, but more than 2 just shows a lack of commitment, which we just can't have if we are serious about losing this weight!
GREAT JOB everyone with their weight losses so far. It really seems like we have some hardworkers! I can't wait to see the results of this challenge!
yay I like the commitment factor in this challenge -- this is exactly what I need.
I found a great way to avoid the fridge/pantry -- working in my yard! I forgot how much I love having my hands in the earth, breaking it up and cultivating it. Almost orgasmic (don't tell my hubby LOL)
Another plus of working outside (for me) is that I don't want to eat crappy processed food. We have the most amazing bbq'd lamb chops last nite -- hubby brushed em with a bit of olive oil, minced garlic and fresh chopped oregano...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Dinner tonite is going to be bbq'd pork chops and mixed greens topped with garlic red wine vinegar.

Looks like everyone is doing great. I hope everyone is surviving the memorial day weekend. I did my hardest, I had my sisters surprise 40th bday party and food was everywhere. I skipped the cake but had a small chocolatechip cookie and skipped the chips and dip and stuck with the veggie tray. When my clan gets together the beer and wine starts flying. I drank a few white whine spritzers with a lime wedge and it was great. It was nice to see my family (they live 2 hours away) and for them to see and comment on my weight loss.

I need to join as well. HI! I'm Dre and I live in Louisiana. I need to lose 10 lbs, and at 46, they are hanging on for dear life. Ack! I currently weight 135 and want to get back to my goal weight of 125. I was there a year ago, but something happened this year and I don't know what. Major dieting issue? Wine!! great job everyone! Tomorrow is the last day to get in those weights for this week. It will be Mondays usually but because of memorial weekend I am extending it! Remember: 2 weeks missed and you are taken off challenge! We want serious participants only! So gets those weights in!
Congrats on everyone who did well on memorial day! I did great until a picnic at the park. I even brought watermelon to the park to snack on and just saw cookies and pretzels and lost it. Dang. I will have to work out extra tonight! I have been doing great though and am down 2 1/2lbs this week! I hope the momentum keeps up! I have been working so hard, I am sooo mad at myself for todays slip up!!

So I weighed myself and I'm still at 179. Which is no fun, but I really tried to be good all weekend on vacation *and* I had a ton of exercise.
