Is there any way to tone down bloating?
I gain about a lb every time I'm on my period due to bloating and fatigue. It's terrible, and I need to find a way to fit into my pants properly during that time of the month.
I'm not sure, since I don't really get that with my periods. But I do get something similar with the pill.
So what I do for that is... Eat small meals, even if you have to eat more of them during the day. Eat fruit (but not ones that are really acidic like citrus) and things that are easily digested (so not milk). Tea is great, especially herbal kinds, and also try to add ginger to all your meals somehow, that stuff is really good for digestion. Drink lots of water too.
My cure for that is stretch pants...sexy i know. :)

Avoiding foods with a lot of sodium will prevent further bloating, and supposedly taking midol helps with bloating. I've never tried it so I can neither confirm nor deny that, but I have some friends that say it helps.
LoL... I just had to reply because the topic line made me smile :) I haven't read the other posts but when I'm bloated I try to cut down on salt. Good luck!!!
I've heard from my friends that you can cut back on salt and caffeine to reducing bloating. I never really bothered with it. If I do bloat, then I just know to wear looser clothes for a few days. Plus, I'll probably lose the weight a couple of days later so it's not that big of a deal.

I use Diurex, over the counter water pills the week of my period. Works wonders!
I felt like the Goodyear Blimp earlier this week because I was bloating from PMS. Then I went to the gym and I immediately felt better. Not sure why but goin to the gym when you're PMS'ing helps.
Plus it helps you work off calories if you're one of those people that tend to get the food cravings and eat more during PMS.
The day I get my period back I'm gonna throw a party, themed and everything, lol! Sorry, I know that's no help. I'll shut up now. :)

Hahaha that's great! When my cousin got her period back my aunt put up a big banner over the front door that said "My baby brought her sexy back!!!" and invited all the neighbors/friends/family over for a period party, lol. Everyone had to dress in red and all the food was red (punch, red velvet cake, red m&ms, tomato sandwiches, spaghetti with meatsauce, etc.). My cousin nearly died of embarrassment. ;)

I drink a lot of water to save myself from the bloating, but you are supposed to gain weight before your period so don't feel bad. Eating dark chocolate keeps the fatigue/depression away for me. Hope you feel better. :)
