This Week I.....
Let's share a positive achievement/effort that we made this week to help us achieve/reach our goal of a healthy lifestyle.
Mine was yesterday I bought a bag of Cheddar Cheese Chips, opened the bag and they tasted terrible - I threw the whole bag in the garbage. Before I would have still ate them.
How about you?

I haven't eaten until I was stuffed for the last week! Wooohoo! I used to eat until I was stuffed, and then when I started counting calories, I would eat vegetables until I was stuffed... so sad! And I felt horrible doing it, so it made no sense whatsoever!
That is awesome hgielrehtaeh. I hate that "stuffed" feeling.
Good job. :) *hi5s*

And I forgot that I did darn fine over the weekend. That is a good accomplishment.
It is easy to forget all the positive accomplishments we make.

Last night I was dying for a snack. I had "room" for it calorie-wise so I let myself have one. But rather than going for the higher calorie chewy granola bars or peanut butter, I had four ounces of Dannon light & fit vanilla yogurt (40 calories,) mixed with one of those single-serving cups of no-sugar-added diced peaches (25 calories.) It tasted soooo good (like peaches & cream,) satisfied me, and was low cal too!
*impressed* that is great justlaura. Isn't it amazing how we change our taste buds and we can be satisified and enjoy a healthy snack?
I passed up a blueberry glazed donut (my favorite) and had cinnamon raisin oatmeal instead.:) I wouldn't have done that a few months ago.:)
Good job Christinak74. *hi5s*
i baked for my family on the week end and didnt have any of it. I like to bake with my kids on saturday afternoons and I refuse to give that fun up just because I am watching what I eat.
Wow - that would be hard to resist. Great job Kikislim. *hi5s*
I have been doing really good not to stuff myself at dinner by eating more at lunch and breakfast. my weakness is whipped peanut butter!! but been really good with this also. good job everyone!!!
Good job to you too daisyg. :)
I didn't go out for sushi with a friend last night (which would have cost me $$, plus tons of rice, and sake) and went home and had special K and smart pop popcorn instead since I was close to my cal allowence for the day :)
Wow.....I love chinese food and still struggle with being good when tempted to enjoy it.
Awesome djkitten.

daisyg, have you ever tried almond spread? appenrantly its just like peanut butter, but made with almonds. ive never tried it, but heard about it from other "upbeat" parents (i guess its better that feeding the kids a pb sandwich...well excuse me!) anyway, I cant seem to find it, not even at larger stores
I wonder if a health food store sells almond spread?? For some reason I recall hearing about it too. I'm going to have to look for that.
Anyway, I've been staying within my calorie limit, and doing regular exercise for about a week now. I am going to a step aerobics class this evening. I made some healthy blueberry muffins over the weekend, that I have been enjoying dipped in yogourt.

Hi all, I'm new and motivated! I am learning everything I can. I have 50 pounds to loose.
I gained weight eating out ... so "This week I" filled my refigerator with good healthy, well balanced foods"! Before, my refigerator only housed diet coke and my restaurants of (bad) choice were Burger King and Waffle House.
Nice to meet you all, Paula

Hi Paula. Eating out is really hard. Sad that they don't offer healthier choices most of the time.
Thanks salome190 :)
I fall off the wagon completely if I'm around Chinese food... so I told myself I wouldn't have it at all in January.

djkitten I would be OK but a friend of mine asks me atleast once a week to go to a local chinese buffet. I can usually tell her no but once in a while I am overpowered with cravings.
Hang in there. :)
Hang in there. :)
kikislim, I have almond butter and it is good! Brand: Kettle, Price about $9.00 for 11 oz jar. I bought it at my local co-op health food store in Pensacola.
I just bought "Naturally More" peanut butter at Wal*Mart and it cost 1/3 the price! I haven't tried it yet but it is fortified with Flaxseed and Flaxseed Oil. This eating healthy sure is expensive.
