You're half way through!
I did D1 by the old program a week ago: 27+ 20 + 20 + 17 + 30 (min 27) = 114
D2 by the new one (today): 25 + 29 + 25 + 25 + 37 (min 36) = 141.
I'm not sure I'm strong enough for D3...
Here i go on week 4... and i am nervous , for no good reason except... you know the feeling when you are going somewhere with friends, and you get there a little early? but week 4 looks like a good place for me. and Maha is here with me... and the rest of you will be shortly i am sure!
ok, so, 21-25-21-21-max 45 (still) and yes, that was a clear max for me today. was aiming for 55...
Hey Jessie, 45 is amazing! Great job!
As for me, I just finished W4. Barely. That was the most painful day so far.
29 + 33 + 29 + 29 + 41 (min 40) = 161. I did it, BUT
1) I rested for 4-5 minutes before sets 4 and 5.
2) My form on the last 13 really sucked. I couldn't tell up from down or remember my own name at that point, so I don't know if my butt was sticking out, or what, but I felt something was wrong. I don't really feel like I cheated, but I'm not completely satisfied either.
I don't think I'm ready for week 5. I will do the exhaustion test anyway, but I don't have high expectation. I am getting stronger, just not fast enough for this program.
started W4D2 yesterday... did 25-29... and got distracted. i will try again today. but not right now, becasue i am wearing a suit.
W2D2 I don't know if I am in the right spot. I was adding to the forum before and now I haven't been able to find this.
Monday was 14 - 14 - 10 - 10- 15.
Today I did 14 - 16 - 12 -12 - 17. On the 17th push on the last set I could really feel burn.
Just tried end-of-week-4-exhaustion-test. I totally suck :( I need to work on my breathing, the muscles weren't exhausted, but I was totally out of breath and could not go on. I did 45. Tried again in a few minutes, did around 30, after which my cat decided to correct my form by jumping on my head, and I collapsed on the floor laughing.
I had my husband film the whole thing for me, and it turned out my form isn't too bad most of the time.
I qualify for column 3 of week 5, but I don't know whether I should stay on week 4 or proceed.
edit: the cat video is here :) -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0acOKgbAUqM

Very funny! Thanks for sharing.
I think i am going to start week 4 over again on monday. just too much going on right now for me to focus. :)
:-/ strained my shoulder this weekend (not doing pushups) so i will bow out for a while. hopefully when i come back i won't have to start over at the begining, but we'll see. I'll keep you posted.

jessiemccrory, I hope you get well soon.
I also don't have anything to report. I've increased my weights in BodyPump class, and I just don't feel like doing pushups in between BP days, they can hardly be called "recovery". This leaves me only Friday, I'll start week 5 then. I hope...
Day 2 was pretty hard on Wednesday. I struggled there.
W4D3 was much easier to rip off 29 - 33-29 - 29 and I lost form going into 41, but I did meet the maximum. It's not hard to guess that I would be losing my form after ripping off 160 pushups.
I did the exhaustion test and did 50 pushups with excellent form. I was going for 51 and then my form gave out.
Onto week 5!!
Week 4: My progress is slowing quite a bit. I will continue to push on, if I don't get the required max on my last set I repeat that day until i get it.
Day 1 (12/11/2008): 21-25-21-21-28 Failed to get the 32 requred max. Will repeat on Saturday.
I finished week 4 day 3 successfully. But when I did my exhaustion test two days later, I could barely pump out 17! I am a bit confused. Based on the columns for week 5 there I'm not even qualified to do column 1!
I have to do week 4 over I guess...is that a possibility of how the program works? I am getting stronger, but maybe at a slower pace than the program allows. Can anyone give me some advice on this?
Thanks much,
Yari

That video was so hilarious I had to watch it three times! Hilarious! Thanks for sharing. And your form is actually very good.

I just did W4D1 (column 3).
All done as decline chair pushups:
21 + 25 + 21 + 21 + 34
Whew!
What are decline chair pushups?
