Week #2 of Slappy and MC's September Ab Challenge

Quote  |  Reply
So, how was Week #1?
Did you enjoy doing ab work? Did you like doing STANDING ab work?
It's a great way of working out and not having to just do crunches :)

So.....are you ready for Week #2?
We ARE taking it to the floor this week, and we are going  to Strengthen Your Abs and Core!

I am sure some of you have already discovered all the wonderful features that About.com Health has to offer, but one of MY favorites is the videos.
I actually found this weeks' clip on our own CC Plus site :)

The video is very clear, and there is a trascript below the video that you can print out if it helps.
It talks about hand weights, but you will notice the video does NOT use them. So, you can vary the intensity of the moves to suit YOUR needs.

Here is a link to Week #1 again, so you can keep track and refer back if you like.  Now, you are armed with some more moves to add to your ab workout.

Have fun! And, remember....if any of you have ideas that you want to share, let us know!

Slappy & MC,
Your Ab Challenge coordinators :)

This week is going to be awesome!  I will say everyone, by the end of the week should try to add a little bit of weight to this workout, even if its just hold a can of corn or your water bottle.  A little bit of added weight will push you even harder!

Lets do it!  woo hoo!

Can of corn.....
Now I finally have a use for that canned food! LOL
Just kidding...GREAT idea.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and a fABtastic day.

MC
BUMP!!!  where is everyone?
Okay, it's Sunday afternoon.
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.
Don't forget to take a few minutes tonight and check out week 2's exercises.

Here's to a fantABulous week!
I'm here!  Happy to report that I can actually do this week's exercises without inflicting major bodily harm to my coordination-challenged self. ;-)

Hey everyone I am here too!!

I haven't been doing ab workout every day tho... Missed a few days here and there... But I am definatly still trying!! :D I did week #1 exercices today... I think I will do week #2 tonight! Anyways I better see a change in my flabby abs!! LOL hope everyone else is doing well!

hi everyone!!!!!

Nat has a great idea for switching it up!  Alternate weekly exercises each night, that way you are working different muscles.

SO has anyone been too sore to workout the next day????

If so...you better speak up! Im working on a routine for all of us and if you havent hurt yet, I can promise you will after Im done! LOL
Yell

Yes - I have been REALLY sore a couple of times since starting the challenge.  I usually just go through the moves without engaging the muscles much on the days I'm hurting.  It never dawned on me to mix it up as suggested.  I'll give that a shot and see what happens.  I have been feeling like somewhat of a "cheat" by not giving it my all on these days.

BTW - all you experienced AB exercisers - what would you consider a success as far as inches lost during a month of focused exercise?  I know, probably too many variables to give a good estimate.  What would YOU consider a great success?

You know I think I have not bad core - I don't hurt - everything else does...not my tummy??  but...I have to step that up a notch - Just started doing that Turbo Jam that MC sent me!  Fun!!

I measured again last night and I am down one inch - 28....goal is to get to 26...this is my waist....the belley....I am sitting at 30 inches and I want that to be 28....I am going to get there!!!!!

I have upped my cardio quite a bit this last week - hoping to see some good results - weigh in is tomorrow!
Either everyone is busy doing their abwork or we are just MIA?
Where is everyone?
Did you not like this weeks' exercise suggestions?
If you need more ideas, let us know :)

Hopefully everyone's weeks are going well and your abs are sore (which is a good thing :)!!

MC

I havnt been too sore... But I am definatly starting to feel my abs! yeppy!!

Can't wait for week 3!!

I am going to do my ab workout now!! :D

I have been MIA and I apologize!  I have been working those abs so I hope others are too!

someone asked about how many inches would be a success.  I have to say that it took me 2 months of exercise before I saw any inches lost in the beginning.  But I lost 4 inches in 8 months off of my waist.

Depending on where your weight lies on your body, amount of weight to lose and what type of exercises you are doing.

Some of us may not see a differences when doing the measurement BUT will feel a difference in your clothes.  Stay positive!  I have seen people on here, doing the abs challenge drop 4-5 inches in one month!  Possibilities are endless!

Does week 3 start today or on Monday?
Hello Everybody ~ I too have been MIA, but I have been completing my ab workouts. While I haven't measured, I do feel better and the waist of my clothes are looser. This exercise challenge has helped me be more aware of my core/abdominals and I find myself "sucking them in" more and even doing the standing exercises at work (or anyplace else) as bonus. I have been enjoying the workouts. Unfortunately, I am going to be MIA again because I am going on vacation until the 24th. I will continue to exercise (and count my calories), I don't think I will have the opportunity to get to a internet connected computer over the next ten days. Best of luck to everyone and keep up the great work! Smiles, Dacia
