The YMCA here is having an official countdown to summer fitness challenge for 9 weeks!!
I bet we can lost 20-30 pounds in nine weeks with HARD work and EFFORT !
9 x 2 = 18 pounds
9 x 3 = 27 pounds
Let's GO FOR IT. I'd be so much cuter with 27 pounds off. :)

9 weeks??? I'm depressed! I'm on week 3 of my diet, been exercising almost every day (mostly running outside), and haven't lost any weight. My clothes don't seem any looser either :(
9 weeks . . . eek! Count me in -- if I have to fall back on lifeguarding this summer I will definitely have to be in shape. Will our weigh-ins be on Tuesdays?

The YMCA's Challenge is to exercise 3 times per week for 9 weeks.
But, I say we challenge ourselves to lose 20 - 30 pounds in that 9 weeks.
20 pounds is CERTAINLY manageable
30 pounds would be 3 per week and might be pushing it, but STILL doable.
I started yesterday with the following goals:
1,200 - 1,500 calories per day
Weight lifting Mon Wed Fri with 30 minutes of cardio
Cardio Tues & Thurs and Sat or Sun 1 hour (I'm killing 500-700 calories per workout on these days)
Lean Meats, Whole Grains, Fruits, Veggies are what is going to go into my body! :)
Should we list our weights and our goal for our 9 weeks?
I do weigh in Mondays with my sister! :)
Kathy Female 38 years old 237 pounds (last weigh in Monday March 26th) 5'6" tall (I have knee pain & plantar fascitis that I am dealing with).

I'm just starting week 4 of my exercise plan and dieting, and so far I haven't lost any either and my clothes feel a little bit tighter too. I guess that's normal then :( I still want it all gone NOW though.

I would like to get to 159 at the end of this nine weeks....that leaves 11 lbs. Very do-able, I'd say!

im SO in!!!!
just a quick ? tho. if my maitinence is 1600 then i can only cut back to 1200, right? so thats 400 deficit/day. aka less than 1 lb a week. so if i burn cals excersizing, i don't have to eat them back, right? i could just extend my deficit to like 500 or 600? cuz honestly, less than a lb a week is pretty pathetic. (esp when i get impatient. which got me in BIG trouble b4).

Count me in! Female 5'5" 142.6 pounds this morning. Want to lose at least 10 lbs. in 9 weeks. I have a wedding to go to in 9 weeks so perfect timing! Good luck everyone!

im in! im 136 pounds and id like to lose 20 pounds by summer. and 16 more by the end of the summer!
