I used to have a lot of trouble in the weekend...but not anymore. I think the main problem is the lack of structure and extra free time that leads to boredom eating and the munchies. Firstly try not to eat unless you are hungry, drink tea or coffee or diet sodas if you need to keep your mouth busy - whatever works for you! Secondly, do find things to do with your time or you will just end up going back to the kitchen out of habit.
As for drinking I limit drinking to one night in the weekend, and when I do I mix a spirt and diet soda. Gin + diiet tonic, or a vodka + diet soda (or lowcal cranberry juice :'D) works great. I don't want to use up too many empty calories on alcoholic drinks so I try and avoid sugary cocktails/alcohols.
