A Weekly Weigh-In
Alright shorties, let's keep ourselves accountable. Every monday morning let's do weigh-ins! I think we should keep them to a format so we can track our progress easily. Something like this
Starting Weight: 115
Current Weight: 115
Next Week's Goal: 114
Goal Weight: 105
sound good? This way we'll keep track of ALL of our successes and failures!
last week: 143
this week: 144.5
what the ****? i am going to weigh in tomorrow again and hopefully its water weight or bloat...its so frustrating to have my weight go up and down up and down why cant i steadily loose? ughhh well whatever im going to hope tomorrow is more succesfull.
Happy Monday, shorties!
Starting Weight: 122
Last Week's Weight: 112.8
Current Weight: 111.8
Goal Weight: 95
The last few Mondays I have literally been exactly one pound less...very odd. EXACTLY one pound....Whatever...I'll take it!
this looks good this will only be my second post so here it goes
Starting Weight: 146
Current Weight: 144.7
Next Week's Goal: 142
Goal Weight: 110
SW 120
Last week- 109? I think?
CW 108
NW goal- 107 (I have yet to go below 108 and I have been going back and forth between 108 and 110 for something like 3 weeks now.)
I'm happy because I went out on Thursday night for Mexican food (finally!) and then yesterday I had Backyard Burger for lunch. I had a backyard Burger junior with cheese and Jimmy and I split a small fry. I was full, and happy, and I stayed within my calorie goal! Not sure if I was within my calorie goal the Mexican night because I wouldn't even begin to know how to count .. I ate just what I wanted to, calories irrelevant! But I only had 245 cals during the rest of the day and I burned a buttload of calories jumping rope and walking. So maybe it evened out.
Starting Weight:185 (156 cc start on 9/15)
Last week's weight: 153
Current Weight:152
Next Week's Goal:150
Goal Weight: 115
Looks like we're all doing good this week so far. Hang in there leahhh could just be water. You'll get past it.
I'm only down 1 this week but I'm happy with it and actually glad since I don't want to drop too much too quickly, and I'm sick as anything right now. Can't handle anything heavier then green tea with a little honey or apple sauce right now. Have to puree veggie soup because of my throat and it's a little heavy on the stomach right now. Probably going to poach a pear and see if I can handle that for lunch. So I'll lose more this week most likely. Not going off the wagon on exercising, just going to do intervals on the elliptical instead of going outside and will back down a little and take out a set of everything, and if I can't get 3 sets in that's ok this week. Could be next week too if I'm still recovering. No way on a run day this week.
I hate getting sick so hopefully this is it for the winter. I never really get sick except for a 24 hr thing here or there or a migraine or allergies flaring up... and it's usually 1 flu/cold/whatnot a year if that. Can only hope this is it because I don't want to have a bad winter!
Starting Weight: 166 (but had gotten up to 170)
Last Monday's Weight: 165
Current Weight: 168
Next Week's Goal: 164
Goal Weight: 95 - 105
No idea what's going on. I'm feeling quite bloated though, so that 3 lbs may be that (since it hasn't been there all along - just arrived overnight). Still eating healthy and exercising.
Any suggestions?

If it arrived overnight, I would tend to agree. I swear it never fails, I will be 2-3 pounds heavier on Monday when it is time to weigh in than I was just the day before, on Sunday! Since you're sticking to your plan, I'd try not to worry much.. During the week, I fluctuate about 1-3 pounds day to day. When it's at 3, though, as yours is, I do try to drink even more water that day, and forego anything really high in sodium. I enjoy a Coke Zero now and then and I will skip it and do water instead when I notice a sudden jump in the scale number because I believe it is due to retaining water.. And although retaining water doesn't have squat to do with actual weight loss, it IS my body telling me that I need to either drink more or cut down on the sodium, so I try to listen. Plus, even when we know that it probably isn't fat making that number go up, it is just so much more pleasant when it will at least stay the same! LOL When I see it go up I make bad faces at the scale and anyone in the room.

Yeah, I'll yell a lot at the scale, tell it that it doesn't know what it's talking about and kick it back into the closet...
I sometimes wonder about the water weight since I no longer have to worry about retaining water for the monthly visit from Aunt Flow, but I do forget about sodium and retaining water that way...I have been having a lot of ramen noodles lately...cold weather makes me have a lot of soup. :(
Thanks for making me think about it! :)
Oops, I forgot to weigh in yesterday.

Sarah, I think we have all felt this way at one time or another, that's why we're here! On the bright side, you lost two pounds this week, which is the most we can reasonably expect from ourselves if we are doing things in a healthy way. You're on the road to 115, keep up the good work!
So I got on the scale this morning after being sick all week. I went from 152 Monday to 149 today. Kinda stood back for a minute since I'm eating normally. No telling what Monday will bring but geez I didn't expect that much weight off. I've been drinking green tea, eating a lot of soup (mostly veggie, homemade low sodium) some chicken, fish and brown rice... and I refused to let being sick take me out of exercising completely... I just stayed in and hit the elliptical rather then going out to the track to run. And that happened.
Chances are it'll probably go up this weekend but it was just something nice to see. Didn't expect to be under 150 for at least another week or so. Maybe I'll get lucky and sticking to things will keep me losing. Just nice to feel like I've turned that corner and I"m not stuck anymore.
It's that special day again...weigh-in-Monday! I hope everyone is happy with their progress!

Ended up 2# under goal this week since it should have been 150 so I'm off on a happy start! Nothing new other then getting really sick last week so I think that helped. Didn't expect to be under 150 until next week so I'll take it. Finally nice to get rid of the yo-yo losing and going back up. Hopefully I can keep this going. 6 weeks to go for my special night so hopefully I can just stay losing and feeling good about myself.
Have fun dress shopping!! Hopefully we get to see some pictures =)

Forgot to weigh in yesterday, but there it is! I was super excited...I think the scale heard my plots to throw it away and figured that it should finally cooperate since my clothes are telling me that I'm losing weight. :)
I'm pretty sure 5'1 constitutes as shortie :) I have been struggling with weight loss for about a year now. Last year, I went through a really difficult eating disorder. I have healed a lot from that time, but I am still feeling =/ about the weight that I had to gain in the process of getting better. I didn't gain much weight more but I went back to my original starting weight of about 125-127 pounds. So I hope that everyone stays away from the extremes... it is definitely not worth it. I'm determined to lose about 10-15 pounds the healthy way. I'm prepared for working for months, rather then short term. I will definitely try to weigh in!... My goal is to lose a 1/2 pound-1 per week. How many calories do you guys eat a day that makes you successful in losing a pound of weight a week?
Current Weight- 127.6
Next week's goal- 126.5
Goal weight- 110
Welcome! Yes, 5.1 definitely counts as a shorty! (I'm only 5.2)
Congratulations on recovering from an eating disorder! I'm glad that you've decided to lose weight the healthy way.
I eat 1200 calories a day, and I lose about a pound per week, but I lost faster at the beginning (because I weighed more, obviously). A good way to figure out what your daily caloric intake should be is to use the "tools" button on this website. Then go to the calorie target section. You'll enter in some information about yourself, and then it will tell you how many calories you should consume to reach your goal weight.
Well, welcome again! It's always good to have a new shorty!
Welcome Karen =) glad to have another shorty... even though I'm taller hehehe! 5'3" and man does it feel great to be the tall one for once. Very big congrats on your recovery and commitment to doing things the longer term healthy way. It's not easy but I guess we all "get" that it's the only way to keep things off.

Last week's weight: 148 (though I got to 145.5, going to use my monday one)

So I'm not exactly thrilled but that sick weight came back with a vengeance with me eating normally. I literally felt like I was starving when I was able to stomach eating normally again and went with the nudge of "you just got over being sick" and more or less encouraged to break a few rules. I'll get it back under control, just bothers me. Cutting elliptical in favor of tae bo now that I found my dvd's. 1hr of elliptical I break a sweat but it just doesn't give me that burn I need.... tae bo.... that'll kick my butt. I hate that the elliptical isn't doing what I need anymore but I guess I can still use it to warm up and cool down and for some extra calorie burning. I'm making distance for my 5k but it's just not pretty. At least I have until Feb, so 4 months to get it there...not expecting to just go out an breeze past people like I used to but a full run race with no walking would be really nice.
Starting Weight: 166 (but had gotten up to 170; started CC on 8/27)
Last Monday's Weight: 163
Current Weight: 168
Next Week's Goal: 161

I'm really bloated again today. I am starting to see a trend in my eating habits on Sundays to give me such a horrible weight the next day. However...last night before bed my scale sat at 158 until just before it gave the final reading and then jumped to 168, so I have no clue what's going on with that but I hate my scale. But yesterday I had some stew, hot cocoa, and ramen noodles...large amounts of sugar and sodium - there's my answer! :(
I'm going to have to work on being better about watching what I put in, just yesterday was soooo cold - needed the winter warmness. :(
