If you are new to the 100lb+ group and weekly weigh-in posts, first of all WELCOME from all of us who have been here for a while. Of course, you are welcome to join us; in fact, we love new faces and spirits.
The weigh-ins work like this. Anyone can start the post so if Sunday morning you check in and no one has started this week's thread, feel free to launch it yourself. Just include a welcome and brief explanation like this one so that newcomers feel confident in adding their posts for the first time.
We start on Sunday and many of us weigh-in on Sunday but since we post throughout the week, you can really weigh-in when ever you like. And if you don't want to weigh in weekly or even bi-weekly that is okay too. Just tell us what you have been up to or struggling with or having success with.
The lingo...Most of us use SW for starting weight, LW for last week's weight or lowest weight, and CW for current weight. Some of us list our challenges last week and our goals for this week. Some people set a goal for next week's weigh in - NWGW, some set a short terms STGW (like the next 20lbs or to break the 200lbs mark) and others set a LTGW or a final goal weight. Share whatever you are comfortable sharing.
The most important aspect of this entire process is let us know when you are struggling or in need of support. We all will go through this at one point or another and we promise to understand and not to judge!
I LOST this week. I finally took off the two pounds from last weekend and then another pound. It is good to see that. I was so excited this morning that I had to start the thread. LOL. I'm silly
but I was excited to be moving in the right direction.

STGW 323 (goal date is Labor Day) may have to consider revising that one.

I am procrastinating/avoiding the exercise issue. Please let me know what worked for getting you from zero exercise to regular exercise. I did one of the beginners workouts one night last week, but I know it's going to take way more than that.
Have a great week everyone.

Very disappointed in myself for being so lazy this week. I didn't walk one day and my eating was way too low as well. I wasn't feeling so hot and had a hard time even hitting 1000 calories a day so I am surprised I lost anything at all. Heading out for a long hike ATM and hoping to start off better this week than last.
Good job Susan and jkla and here is best wishes to everyone else for a good weigh in.

Susan,
What I'm doing is taking my daughters with me to zumba. They have helped me stay motivated because I'm working to keep them active also. I also laugh alot during zumba and that helps to keep it from being too much of a chore. I think you need to start small especially with the hours you work, maybe fifteen minute walk after work or a segment of a workout video. Then maybe on the weekend you can work out longer, like an hour of swimming, etc.
Gyn - Thanks!

It was HOT in Indianapolis all week. We broke 100 one day, which was the first 100 degree day in 23 years! Heat Index got up to 105 - 115 every day. No outdoor exercising due to health concerns and I'm still fighting some kind of mental block about exercising indoors. But I was very careful with the eating all week and drinking lots of water. I guess just eating right and drinking lots of water will help me lose at this point, but I know that I need to incorporate regular exercise to get to my LTGW. I have to get over the metal hurdle and exercise come rain, snow, sleet or gloom of night. If anyone has successfully overcome this, please share the ideas. Thanks all and have a great week!

Overall, I did well with exercising and sticking with my diet plan. I had a bump in the road earlier this week, but I'm glad I picked myself up off the ground and used that to motivate me to work harder.
I need to stop obsessing about the scale (I think I'll start weighing myself weekly...and then hopefully monthly). Seeing the scale move up is a bit disheartening and it makes you forget that 7 pounds in two weeks is awesome! My goal is to lose 10 pounds per month.
Congrats to everyone! I'm seeing so Awesome Losers this week!!
I seem to be losing weight slower now on the second month but thats ok, when I was getting depressed about it I figured out the average since I started and it's still around 4lbs a week so that picked up my spirits. I am feeling a lot better than I was a month ago too so that's worth the price of admission.
I'm very happy to be here, even when my progress is slower than I would like.
Have a great week!

I hate to be the one to break the trend but unfortunately I have to report a gain this week - the weather seems to be improving so hopefully this coming week will provide me more opportunities to get walking....
SW - Jun 5, 2010 - 370
LW - Jul 18, 2011 - 275.2
CW - Jul 25, 2011 - 278.6
Goals for this week - 1500 calories or less each day and 5 days at 2.6 miles ( or more ) Congrats on the losses guys! I hope everyone has a great week! Melanie
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
