Weekly weigh-ins for motivation

Quote  |  Reply

Hi! Anyone interested in joining me for a weekly weigh-in and to share your tips to stay motivated and on track each week?  I could use some friends to hold me accountable to my plan. Weigh-ins each Monday. We can start with this basic format and change it up as we go along.  Thanks for joining me!

Starting weight - 182

Current weight - 182

Ideal/Goal weight - 140

Height - 5'6"

Age - 45

Motivation tips/weekly thoughts - This summer was a non-starter because I didn't feel comfortable in a swimsuit, or shorts...or cute summer tops.  Looking forward to looking good for the holidays and to think about next summer.  So far, so good...

Those Oops moments - Thought about having chocolate this evening. Kept it a thought so no oops for me today.

Welcome Disney, Juillemom, and Sheartsbunch.  You've come to a great place to keep motivated! After awhile calorie counting becomes second nature. Your all doing a great job. Have a great weekend.

I've decided to carry an apple im my purse everywhere I go. And, before I put a piece of hallooween candy in my mouth, I have to eat it first. So, far so good. 4 apples eaten this week, and 0 candy. :)

Hi all:

I had an okay week.  Did not quite stay away from the candy last night.  However it is all out of my house now so I should be back on the right track.

Let's don't forget folks all the good eating holidays are coming up....Lets stay focused....Remember don't starve yourself so you can eat a big holiday dinner.  You will eat few calories if you eat before you go to the holiday dinners and then make wise choices at the dinner.

Good luck everyone

Not a bad week.  I hit my 1st mini goal.

1st mini goal was 300 by 10-31 and I did it!!!  Next mini goal is 280 by 1-7-10

I need to stay focused now with everyone at the office bringing in junk.....my god today we have candy, cupcakes and cake...and ya gotta love those who bring them in and announce, you have to eat it, i don't want to take it home....LOL

Nope, not me!

I had a decent first week, what with family over for Halloween and lots of food and all.

Hopefully, I will lose more this week, although there are a couple of special occasions coming up that could derail me if I am not careful.

If it's not too late to join, I would like to try a weekly weight in.

Starting weight 160 (july)

22nd  Sep 150.7

11th Nov  147 almost 3 pounds down  Innocent (Mid target weight 130 by Jan 2010)

...the rate of loss has slowed down. I haven't been regular on CC due to festivals and celebrations Cry, but have managed to lose despite all reasons to gain. was very careful about what & how much I ate and drank, and tried to be regular with the gym...feeling good, can do 45 mins on the treadmill without feeling tired or worn outCool. Have now added weights to my routine... the slow count down as long as the numbers are reversing slowly gives me something to look forward every morning.....

Hope the festial seasons does not affect weight loss campaigns of all you folks out tere...

Weigh-in for 11/4:

Starting weight - 228

Current weight - 183 (1/2 pound lost since last week)

Goal weight - 138

Height - 5'7"

Age - 40

This weight is a milestone for me as it marks my halfway mark to my goal. I'm halfway there!! My loss has slowed a lot, but I am still losing. (That article this morning about our attitudes toward our body affecting our weight loss really hit home for me.)

Like Abi pointed out, it will be interesing to see what happens between November 26th and December 31. I'll be on vacation for a week at Christmas so I won't be working out (so I expect to gain), but hopefully I can make enough healthy choices that I don't gain too much. We can do it! We can overcome the eating season! :-D If nothing else, please let's keep posting - gain or lose.

First, thank you Kristinkay26 and lovinglife2 for helping me throught my rough patch of depression.  It was such a help to have positive feedback.

I upped my intake as suggested and tried to stay positive.  Here are the results...

Weigh in for 11/6

Starting weight:  210

Current weight:  207.00  (lost 2.5 in two weeks)

Goal weight:  150

Height:  5'4"

Thank you for getting me through and on the right track.

YAY, tam_rae! She's losing!! Laughing I hope you're feeling better, too. Hang in there - you're doing great!

I had a bad week.  I am ashamed to put in my weight this week.Cry  I did not stay on track at all.  I have ate everything in sight this week.Frown

Up 4 lbs Cry

Must do better this week....I am so upset with myself this week.

sbgogirl, don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone has setbacks. I've gone from 298 to 157, and I can't tell you how many times I went backwards before I went forward again. Just shake it off, forgive yourself, shrug and know that its no big deal. This is a new week! Start it off with a positive beat, releasing the guilt, and enjoying the present. You can do it!

sbgogirl-Chin up....you made a mistake and we all know it will happen to all of us from time to time.  Back on track and before you know it, those 4lbs will be gone.  Bet alot of it is water.

As for me this week, no change, which sorta annoyed me.  I lowered my calories to match what CC tells me not what the eat meter said and I am not active 6 days a week and yeah, A BIG NADA!

Now I did sneak a peek at my scale this morning, something I do not like to make a habit of and it was down 1.5 lbs, so OK, maybe it was a weird water thing.  I was ovulating...LOL  The good news is, I had purchased two bras, oh 6-8 months ago and they never really fit ( I was in denial ). Well I put one on yesterday and WOW...the underwire did not feel like it was gonna pierce my flesh.  That lil moment, ALMOST made up for lack of decline in weight this week.

Time to let it go and move on, right?

Hope everyone has a good week!

The week went pretty well until DH and I went out for dinner  Friday night.  I think, for the time being, I will steer clear of restaurants.  They're just too difficult to manage. I can't make the right choices yet, and let's not even mention the sodium levels (I was SO thirsty all night).  If I have a 'splurge' day, I'd rather stick with a thin crust vegie pizza - delivered!

I saw a guy on Dr. Oz who went on a 28-day meatless diet and lost 30 lbs.  He at soy burgers, used sliced tomatoes for bread, & hummus.  I tried it and actually liked it!  Minimal calories.

Also bought cucumbers and the spray salad dressing for snack.  So far, so good...

Today, walked for 20 minutes (without dying) and did some weights after.  Feel pretty good.

My neck is fused & I have hooks that hold my head to my spine, so to do a lot of weight lifting is out of the question, but a little bit to work my arms has got to be helpful.

Week number two, here we come!

Way to go you guys! Good job keeshond!

One pound down. Ugh, this one pound a week is a drag. :(  Kind of my fault, I only exercised 3 times this week.

Thanks for the support everyone....I have been back on the right track today.  Calories are under control today and I drank 64 oz of water.  I hope it is mostly water weight and I can flush it out.

Weigh-in for 11/11:

Starting weight - 228

Current weight - 183.5 (1/2 pound gained since last week)

Goal weight - 138

Height - 5'7"

Age - 40

I had a bad eating week, so I wasn't surprised at the gain. I'm actually surprised it wasn't more. Tongue out I had my weigh and measure at Curves last night, and I lost 2.5 pounds for the month, so I'll take that. I have to remind myself that this is a marathon and not a sprint.

My body fat % also went down for the month (not a lot, but it went down), and that's something the trainer looks at pretty closely, so that's goodness. I'm at 36.1% and the high part of the recommended range for my age is 34% (I started at 41%). She was pretty enthusiastic to see me getting close to there, though I haven't even taken off 10% yet, so I don't think I'm "that" close - but it will come eventually. If I eat right. Wink

This week was better than last week.  Did not lose everything I gained last week but I lost most of it.

So it seems I am back on track.  I counted calories this week and drink water.

Well, I guess I'm down almost 5 lbs. since my post on the 9th.  I feel as though the weight should be coming off much faster than it is, but I really have to remember it took years to put on.

Splurged last night at Dairy Queen & later checked the calories in a Turtle in waffle cone & nearly died!  800+ calories.  Plus, I felt sick to my stomach after eating it.  Perhaps my system is adjusting to this better eating?!  Next time, we'll split a treat...Week three and downwards we are going!

Well last week the scale didn't budge.  This week I weighed myself yesterday but after a night of lil sleep, I did not believe the 7.5lb loss so I weighed again today and it was an approx 5lb loss so I will call it that.

SW 321

LW 300

CW 295.4

My next goal is 280 by 1-7-10 and the next one will be 256lbs which will be 20% of my starting body weight.  I would like to see that by the 1st day or Spring.  I have not seen that weight since right before I got married, 14+ years ago.

Great work to everyone...and yes....as Kristin says, it is a marathon, not a sprint.
