One of the ideas from the 11-20lb group was a weekly weigh in on Monday......
For me it helps keep me good through the tougher weekends and gives me a place to "Post" my results, giving me the added incentive and black and white reality of my successes.
Hope you'll join me in this!
I could use the support!

If I remember correctly from an earlier post -- you are on the tiny side. I am 5 ft myself and hovering 105 ish at the moment - headed I hope back to the double digits of my youth, lol.
What I am doing at this point is creating a bigger calorie deficit -- to get 1 lb a week off. I am consistently between 850-950 calories per day, but I had to figure out how to eat a LOT for the little # of calories. I LIKE food and I HATE to feel hungry.
Here is my typical day:
3/4 c. egg white omeltte with 35 g. roasted pepper and 35 g of brocolli or spinach in it -- occasionally I add 1 oz of turkey or ham.
1/4 c. non fat cottage cheese with strawberries on top
1/2 Lite english muffin with 8 g Reduced Sugar Smucker Jelly on it
Plus Agave nectar in my tea (8 g)
Lunch --
BIG salad (balsamic vinegar only) -- no nuts, bacon, cheese, olives or anything VERY tasty....
1/2 pita (30 cal) 1 tsp dijon - spring mix and 2 oz of meat (usually turkey or tuna)
Snack
If I am working out -- protein shake 115 calories (chocolate with frozen strawberries)
Dinner
3-4 oz. pork tenderloin (or other lean meat). 2 veggie sides (2 x a week small sweet potato) plus a salad again HUGE.
Snack
If I am under 850 -- I will have a 100 calorie snack at the end of the day to keep my belly from growling.....
A gram scale was a GREAT investment for me. It helped me really meter down my portions.
Usually I get a workout in 3-5 days a week. Cardio and strength training. Plus a yoga class on friday night. But I have 2 young boys and work. So I live the dream of many. Hope this might help!
Alicat had some great ideas too. Until Monday!
Hi,
I am also 5 ft and fluctuate from 105-108. My goal weight is 100. I was told that for our height we need 1200 c especially for workout, if you go lower than that your body will think it is starving and hold on to fat. Do you feel this true? I was eating 850-950 until I heard that. I lost 30 pounds after my 3rd baby and I just stayed around 105 at the smallest 103. So I thought maybe they were right. I am going to try and follow your diet and see if that works. Do you find that works for you? How much are you losing per week? I work out 4-5 x's a week strength training and cardio. I kind of fell off the wagon. People around me are telling me I look too skinny (including my husband who I know would not lie) and that it doesn't even look good. I am by no means scrawny, I have some muscle tone. And after 3 kids can not lose the baby pouch. I would appreciate your input or someone else who does not know me and will not be biased. Your post was very helpful. Thanks!!!
This is a great idea. I want in!

I tend to gain weight around my waist, which gives me that unflattering "muffin top". About a year ago I was down to 115 pounds by reducing carbs. It worked really well, but unfortunately the weight all came back when I started eating carbs again. sigh. Maybe I'll have better luck counting calories and (ugh) exercising.

I figured the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. In other words -- I will do what it takes to get myself there in a reasonably short time. That does mean taking my calories a little low...... but I make sure I hold my nutrition at a A- or better or the site and take a good multi during the process. I also allow myself the occasional day of an 1100 calorie day. After 7 weeks I took 5 days off 1 meal a day. Which jumped my calories but mixed it up a bit for my body. I try to burn between 300 - 500 calories a day thru exercise 5-6 days a week. I am currently losing 1 - 1.5 lbs a week.
My protein is high around 100 g per day with my carbo's about the same and total grams of food per day 1300-1500. In other words I try to eat more grams of food than calories. My carbs come primarily from green vegetables. My fiber seems to hover around 20 grams per day (which could be higher I know....).
I know for my body protein is key, without it I am hungry and mean...lol. I was a former Atkins woman, which was a very successful short term diet for my body type. This is more of a lifestyle change and trying to exchange fat for muscle. So far it is working for me.... but I will see once I get myself down to goal where I can keep my calories and still maintain my weight. I LOVE food, and I am giving myself a good range to be able to eat, enjoy and look/feel good. I will go low and then allow myself a bit of flex, I can hide 5-7 lbs pretty well. So anything under 105 looks reasonable. Right now it's the challenge of getting to goal and trading some of my extra stuff for muscle.
You know your own body and what feels right for you. Everyones ideal weight is different. Recognize if its the challenge of getting to goal or if thats really what your body will feel best at. Toning yourself and feeling good about you is the true measure of success. I have had two children, my youngest is 4 - so reclaiming my body is part of this quest for me. I am fighting the mid-fourties with all I've got. So far so good............
Keep us posted!
Thanks for the advice I will change it up a bit and add more protine, less fruit. Yes I do take a womens multi vitamin and vitamin D because I have the begining of Osteoporosis (runs in the family). I don't burn much each day about 200 cals with my work outs. Unfortunitly I wont be able to add eggs to my diet as I am allergic but the rest I will try this week and see what the scale does for me next monday :-)
keeping my fingers crossed...
and thanks again everyone for the advice I realy do appreicate it!
Thanks for your input. I really new to all this health stuff since I love food and junk so much. I'll keep you posted and you do the same. You have been very helpful.
Happy Memorial Day!
Week 9
Start:115 Goal: 99
Current: 104
Last week -1# Total: -11#
Did the sudden jump up this morning -- had been holding several days MUCH less. Guess it's a sodium thing. But not what I had hoped to see this morning on the scale. Especially since I am having a bbq today.... and was looking forward to a treat! Plus my gym closes at noon......
Oh, well.......... I've got a week to work it off! Which I WILL do. Hope everyone has a great week. Looking forward to your posts!
Totally blew it this weekend. Had a bbq ate chips and a one slider. Doesn't sound bad, but I got up and chips and dip for breakfast than for lunch. I take full ownership and refuse to eat for the rest of the day and start fresh tomorrow. Plan on drinking tons of water. I just can not get on the scale because I am afraid of the damage. Hope this works.

I guess you can look at this way -- at least if you had chips and burger for breakfast you have the WHOLE day to burn it off.... ![]()
Eat some veggies........ and don't hide. As long as you don't string a bunch of those days together and you get a little exercise.... you'll be ok.
Remember it's the week that counts!
You gotta eat....... your body needs fuel. Just because it has calories doesn't mean it has go juice.
This from a woman thats plotting her burger for tonight
! I can't wait!
thanks you always have good advice. I just get so fustrated because I have worked so hard to get to the point where i feel real comfortable about myself and then I go blow it all away. But you are right.
I hope I'm posting in the right spot...My name is Laura and I'm a stay home mom of four (ages; almost 8,6,3 and 1); my husband is a pilot so I'm on my own alot, which can be tricky! But I'm soo happy to be home with my kids. I posted last week for the first time and am weighing in on Mondays for accountability.

Lost 2 lbs this week and started heavy exercise routines again. WaHoo!
hey my name is Rania, and i'm having a very difficult time reaching my goal weight especially that i have a very big sweet tooth ; )
height: 5'4 (166.5 cm)

goal weight: 135
current weight: 143
that's a lot to go : (
Laura & Rania -
Laura - You go! A 2 pound week is excellent -- You must have been rippin it at they gym!
Rania -- I first started getting serious in November -- it took me 4 mo to lose the 1st 10 lbs. Then I put on a few with some sloppy habits. The aha moment was when someone challenged me to lose 10 and I am not one to lose a bet. So off I went................ needless to say I won. But cc certainly helped. I made sure I log everything and shave the calories where I can. Even if it's only 10 at a time - I always make certain I have enough in the savings account that if I really NEED a treat or a coke........ I've got it to spare. One thing that helped me curb sweets was to make sure my protein is high enough. I tend to crave more sweets if my carbs out weigh my protein gram for gram. SO what works for me is keeping my protein over 90 per day -- usually over 100. It helped on Atkins and it helps now. Let me know if that works at all for you.....
o my what a warm weekend!
still at 107lbs....but made some changes last week to my diet more protine, less fruit. I am hopping for a change for the better next week on the scale.
wish me luck ..hee hee :-)
Are you sure your goal of 99lbs is safe? For a grown woman that seems dangerously low and very unhealthy.
At any rate, I'll do the weigh in too :)
24 y.o. female

Joined CalCount (5/21/09) 140 lbs
Current 137.8 lbs
Goal 130 by July 1st. (125lbs would be awesome, but my BMI is very good, even at 140lbs.)
My weight is very hard to lose. I've been hung up on it for over a year now, with very little results.
I've cut out fast food and soda, reduced my intake to 1200 daily. I eat healthy and exercise 3-4 times per week as well as play disc golf, take walks, bowling...etc. (My mom says I "drink" all of my carbs)
In high school and college I was confident with my beautiful dancers/athletic body. Now after graduating those pounds have slowly crept back on since I'm at a boring desk job all day.

Welcome to the group -- as for me. Yeah I'm little -- 99 lbs is fine. Petite and only 5 foot -- my recommended weight is anywhere from 93-107 depending on the site you look at. I appreciate your concern though as I have seen many posts from folks who may not know what is healthy for them.
I have been there many times -- only to usually get pregnant...lol. This time I should be beyond that -- but taking the necessary precautions.![]()
At this point I am trading muscle for fat and working on weight training, cardio and core development. My weight loss is steady so I know my body can handle a few more pounds and inches. My plan once I hit goal is to stay within a healthy range. No higher than 105 and no lower than 95. I seem to have good energy there. Just remember that 5ft is small -- the 3 inches between us make a BIG difference as to what is right. My BMI is still around 20 and I won't go below recommendation. Thanks and look forward to your posts!
Nothing lost again this week. Boo Hoo! I started jogging instead of walking and I thought I was doing well. I stopped counting calories, but I thought I was doing okay there. Anyway, I'm going to try keeping my chin up and keep going. Starting to count calories again this week. I'm also trying these Access Energy bars from Melaleuca. I've eatten them several times now before a work out and am pretty convinced that they do give me more stamina. Also suppose to help your body turn fat into fuel. They even have a patent. We'll see on that one!
Hello everyone! This seems like an awesome way to hopefully keep me on track!
Lets see...
Age: 26
Height: 5'7
Starting weight: 140
Current weight: 139
Goal weight: 125
I still have quite a ways to go...so sad...but I have a 5 year old and 2 new pups so maybe between those three I'll be more active and lose that weight!!
***Oh yeah...I know this is more than 6-10 pounds but I'm really trying to get down to 130 but I keep thinking 125 and it helps me a little bit.***
I need some help. CC calorie target says I should have 1217 cal. I am 5 ft 105-107 pounds my gw is 100. CC says to reach this goal i need to consume 1217 cal. Does this sound right? Do I subtract the amount of calories burned from this total and eat the extra calories to equal 1217? Or do I just eat 1217 cal and burn off whatever I burn. This to me seems a little high. I just feel if I eat that much I will not lose. I am so afraid to eat because it has gotten me in trouble before. Once I lost all of the weight I wanted to lose, I started slowly eating more and more. Now the pounds are creeping up and my stomach is just petruding. I just feel so lost and discouraged that I don't know where to turn to next. Could use some personal advice and insight!!!!
