Weekly Weigh In! Join me!

Quote  |  Reply

One of the ideas from the 11-20lb group was a weekly weigh in on Monday......

For me it helps keep me good through the tougher weekends and gives me a place to "Post" my results, giving me the added incentive and black and white reality of my successes.

Hope you'll join me in this!   Wink   I could use the support!

I was just able to join this group today. At this point I'm at around week 30. I've fallen off the wagon twice. But both times, I never let myself gain more than 3-5 pounds back. I just stopped loosing (stopped dieting + exercising) for a month or two. This week is my first week on after a 2 month "break" (with 2 visits to the gym during the break and no conscious dieting). Since Monday, I've lost all the weight I gained in that 2 months + 0.8 lbs, so about 3.5 lbs (This is WAY quicker than I usually loose. I can only assume it had to do with the fact that it was so recently gained).

So now:

Age: 27
Height: 6 ft
Start: 208
Goal: 165.0
Current: 175.0

Hello. I got down to 119 from 147, but recently have been verrry naughty and am up to 127.Surprised So I figured it was back to logging foods again and having the weigh in as that really helped me last time. I know this is a Monday weigh in, but would anyone mind if I did mine on a Wednesday as psychologically I can't face a weigh in on a Monday! I had maintained my weight for a while, but kind of 'knowingly' fell off the wagon. I think I was so surprised at being able to maintain the weight loss that I kept pushing it to see how far I could before putting it back on... Duh? Anyway, I am sure it will come off, and this time for my maintenance, I will log the cals for a while instead of just guessing.

So,

Age: 37

Height: 5ft 4 inches

Start: 147lbs

Goal: 119

Current: 127

Here goes! Tongue out

Tufty1:  Congrats on reigning it in before you gained it all back, very smart!  And your analysis of how you gained it is probably right on.....I remember doing the same thing after losing 40 pounds, at first very scared to gain it, then slipping here and there and still not gaining and then probably got cocky and now have gained over 5 back and that's why I'm here now too.

Good luck to everyone.  Oh, I agree about Monday weigh ins....the water weight is too deceiving in a "bad" way.  Thursdays are good for me.

So I'm hoping to lose 7 pounds by the middle of November. Five years ago, I weighed around 140. Now, my weight shifts usually around 125 - 130.  I wanted to make my goal around 115 lbs but I figured that would be pushing it too far, too soon. I'm currently taking a yoga class and walk the long distance to class and work. I do every attempt at getting at least some exercise in for the day since I don't have time to always go to the gym.

Age: 17

Height: 5'5 1/2

Goal: It was 118 lbs, but I keep losing so now it's 115 lbs

Current: 117 lbs

At first I was hoping to be 120 lbs. When I did that, I decided that I now wanted to be 118 lbs. Then I tried to maintain that weight but I'm still losing... starting to get a little concerned but if I get to 115 lbs that's the lowest I've been since I was 13-years-old! :)

(I'm just scared I'll keep losing til I'm a stick! ...I think I'm already starting to lose my chest O.o)

I'd like to do a bi-weekly-weigh in because I get too stressed about the number on the scale if I look at it too often. Yell

I don't necessarily have a goal weight, but I'd like to fit into my jeans a little better before my birthday on Dec. 30th! I'll log for the fun of it though.

Slimming down, toning up, and gaining muscle. :)

Help! I need to get back on track and need some encouragement! It's getting cold and dark early, and I don't like it! I went to the NC State Fair and I ate, A LOT! I hope I can resist temptation better over the winter holidays. :(

Will doing some light weight lifting at home help me tone up or is that not enough? I am thinking about buying a set of hand-held light weights... I've got to get some exercise, I feel like a lump. Where did my muscle go?

I am having trouble buying healthy groceries because they are more expensive and so perishable. Any ideas?

I'm sick of counting calories, and I'm terrified that I'm going to gain all of my weight back. I need to buy smaller winter clothes for work, but I'm scared that I'll jinx myself.

Thanks for reading my rant, this doesn't happen to me often. But I feel like I'm slipping off the wagon!

Height: 5'7", medium framed (broad shoulders, wide hips, thick ankles)

Goal: 119.0 by December; HW: 140; Weigh in: every Thursday

I've been oscillating between 126 and 120 for months now, but I want to be below 120. So I guess that would mean that my goal is to oscillate between 115 and 119.

10/01/09: 124.0

10/08/09: 121.0

Hi, weigh in Thursdayers........166  today 10/22/09.

Sugaree:  Don't fret, one day at a time.  Continue the toning with weights at home and get some sprints in outside 3 days a week if you can......just 20 minutes of 1 minute sprint/3minute recover/1minute sprint/3 minute recover/1 minute sprint/3 minute recover/1 minute sprint/3min recover and 1 minute sprint/3 minute recover.  If that becomes easy, go for 6 intervals, etc.  But you shouldn't have to do it much over 20 minutes total....as long as you get your heart rate UP and then let it come down....you're training your heart and lungs and you will feel a firming up within 2 weeks.
I understand the fear of gaining it all back.........stop now and again, ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Thank you losingfocus. I actually try the sprinting method, because it is helpful with my asthma, and I am hoping it would build some stamina (I've always wanted to be a runnerSmile) One day at a time sounds good.

You don't have to panic. Did you try to work out?I mean muscle training. You'll put on weight without get fat. You'll also get a firm body. Youu don't have to lift weight. Try dancing. It's an excellent form of exercise. Trust me you won't end up like a stick. Just stop diet and start some exercise!
