I have been working out for months and the scale didn't move. Discovered this website just 2 1/2 weeks ago, started counting calories and BAM! 5lbs came off! I am so excited and motivated!

unfortunately, i am on vacation at this moment (4/8/09) and do not have a scale. i really want to stay on track, with the weigh ins but am being accountable and will assure everyone i will weigh in next week.
i've been on my best food behavior here. so we'll see next week!

Not feeling too great about the barely there weight loss, but I am bloated and haven't really been exercising like I should. I'm really trying to up my water and fiber intake to counteract the crazy hormonal changes going on right now. I hope everything will even itself out in the next couple of weeks.

4 kids! However, it has nothing to do with my weight just proud mommy - I was 138 lbs, 10 days after I had my 4th child - that was only 18 months ago and I am now 157 lbs., which is more then I weighed at 9 months pregnant.

So I started on CC on March 31 2009. I haven't had my first weigh in yet.. but will post it ASAP.. and then will do so every Wednesday.. I've been sick for the past couple of days so I'm hoping it doesn't affect my weight loss.

I am not the only shorty in this group!!!!! We short girls need to stick together!!!!!! Its much harder on us with weight loss!!!!! We dont have the benefit of being tall to help us look thinner! So we have to try twice as hard!!!!!! BUT WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!! WE NEED TO STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK GIRL!

Problems: Work long hours at law firm- high stress desk job, long commute, then switch to taxi mom. Single parenting makes it hard to find "me" time. No time to hit gym on weekdays. Sugarholic, very modest drinker, tend to starve during day and then binge at night. I also LOVE to cook french/ creole/ soul food- my boyfriend loves it, but he has the time to spend 2 hrs at a gym to earn it. Recovering from 5 month depression.
Would love to make buddy or two!!!
Not on special diet, just trying to eat healthier and switch out those foods i crave with healthy and acceptable alternatives. I know myself, if i dont like it, i wont make it a habit.
10 little life changes:
1) I like my sugar with coffee and cream to quote the beastie boys. There is no giving up coffee YET at this point BUT i took my sugar jar and filled it half sugar and half splenda (I cant do all spenda, its gross). Small victory. I've found i use less. I have switched coffee with a green tea and jasmine blend for afternoon.
2) I heard you burn more calories with ice water- something about body having to warm it to temp- so i keep a refillable bottle with me, all the time, meetings and what not- I find i grab for soda, coffee etc less cuz who wants to carry 2 drinks!
3) if i HAVE to have a soda, i make it Coke Zero- i like it more than Diet.
4) I make my own trail mix buying dried fruit, mixed nuts, and roasted and no shell sunflower seeds. Then i split them among ziplock bags to make my own energy packs and keep them at work, home, car, purse. If you would have told me a month ago i would like this i would have laughed. Its sweet plus salty (i do lightly or no salted nuts but still- yum). Bonus, I find i am not doing that starving all day, binge at night- that has caused me to gain. Also more energy than 100 calorie packs (they can get expensive so i will buy reg size and break up in 100 cal size baggies). Also pack quaker high fiber instant oatmeal and boiled eggs every Monday so if i need to have breakfast I have it at work.
5) favorite "diet" foods: fresh fruit (for spring), nuts (makes hair, nails and skill nice), avocado (makes everything better), Skinny Cow (buy in bulk @ costco!).
6) Most inspirational magazine: Women's Health (I think they are running a special, $10 for a year plus free gifts on website- as opposed to $4 newsstand).
7) I like to pamper myself by making sure to do my nails and give myself facials- i dont have money to spend at spas or time to go all out but i spend time doing that instead of watching tv extra hour.
8) i always get up at commercials, if i dont do quick exercise i do something-start load of laundry, put away dishes, lay out clothes, check dinner. The up and down is good.
9) Make myself go to bed early helps me get up early and have breakfast, pack my lunch when i pack my sons. Added bonus- save money not eating out at lunch. If i cant make a breakfast, i make myself a quick slim fast shake or carnation breakfast (high in sugar though).
10) Play with my son! Walk up the block, chase him on skateboard, bounce basketball even though i stink- I joined local YMCA for cheap (1 yr $200 vs. $70 a month cheapest local gym) with my 7 yr old. It has a sauna- that makes me feel like i am in a fancy gym and i spend 10 minutes stretching before workout and relaxing afterwards. That way i can work out while he does swim lessons.

Hey :-) I just joined CC this past Tuesday and love it already. I'm nervous about my weight loss this week because I feel like I'm doing well, but those numbers sometimes just won't budge. We'll see on Wednesday!

I go to my university's gym every day of the week except Thursdays and Sundays. My usual workout is 25-30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes in the circuit training room. I also try and drink a LOT of water/crystal light everyday.

I joined CC last year but I never got into logging my food... Until the scale started to tip. I am a full time nursing student and the mother of two young children. My husband is in the Navy and I only get to see him every 4-6 months. So, prolly no need to mention, I am stressed out a lot and don't have a lot of time to get to the gym.
On March 1st I decided to stop making excuses and start getting serious.

I like the idea of a weekly weigh-in it will help keep me accountable.
I go to the gym and workout 2 days a week for 2 hours each day. On Saturdays I bike or jump on the trampoline with my daughters. Everything I eat or drink throughout the day I record on my Palm and as soon as I get home I enter it on CC. Depending on how good (or bad) I was throughout the day, dictates how many glasses of wine I can have (my weakness) without going over my daily calorie goal.

Hello!
I joined this site last year sometime I think, not exactly sure, I just see food I've tagged says 2008. Anyhow, I'm back and ready to finally once and for all lose the weight. I just started counting my calories about a week ago but have been watching what I eat and exercising since end of January.

I have been on a up and down yo-yo for the last ten years. After the birth of my second son...I went from about 160 to 126 and was in fantastic shape. I kept it off for about four years by excersing regularly. I returned to school and just couldn't figure out how to incorporate working out into my crazy schedule so I stopped and ballooned back to 160lbs. I started working out again last March and went down to 145 by August. Then I stopped working out again and went back up to 160. I am back to working out again and I'm feeling good. I really want to stay consistent so I'm trying something different this time by joining this site. Hope it keeps me motivated and I can look again... like I did in my profile pic!!! That is my motivation photo!
