I am getting married in 2010 and I really would like to lose some weight. Currently I am doing the cereal thing for two meals out of the day and counting. I have lost 3 lbs this week and an inch in my bust, waist, and hips!

Hello all!!!  yeah I'm so excited, my first weigh in.  In the past I have always worked out and never tracked calories and never would loose any weight.  I have lost 5 lbs at a 1 lb per week pace and I look and feel great already. Slow but steady.  I was loosing hope, thanks CC and all of you for motivation and support. Good Luck to all!

This is a great idea! I'm looking foward to tracking my progress, as I've never done so before. My weight's always been up and down but I've generally been about 10 lbs into the "overweight" section of all those health charts. I want to make a proper go of it and get myself down to a weight that I can be proud of. Hoping to do it by September. Wish me luck!

Linda here.  I joined CC on March 14, 2009 and I just love this website. I've lost 8.8 lbs so far!

Here's what's worked for me - I eat breakfast every day. Nothing elaborate - just black coffee w/Splenda and one egg and one egg white (or two egg whites) over easy and a glass of Minute Maid Light Lemonade.  The protein in the eggs *really* keeps my appetite in check.

I always carry some sort of healthy snack in my purse (almonds, cereal bar, piece of fruit, etc.).  It is a lifesaver when you're really hungry and vunerable to making unwise snack choices!

Now, I'm working to add some exercise to my routine - mostly walking, but also bought some 6 lb dumbells to work on those flabby arms. :-)

Hi, like lpennington said, I'm starting this today but I'll update on wednesdays from now on!!

I started calorie count in December at 178 pounds. 

I started working out everyday right off the bat but my weight loss was very slow and I was unhappy.  I decided to focus on just food until I get within about 15 pounds of my goal and they I will go back to the gym to tone up!

I'm so excited that i found this website - it's amazing and it really motivated me to eat healtier and less ( it's crazy how many calories i was eating before without even knowing it). I had daugher on Jan. 5, 2009 and i eat everything i wanted when i was pregnant (it's my second one) and i gained a lot of weight. I do want to loose it and go back to my pre pregancy figure. So, weekly weight in sounds like a great idea and will keep me motivated so thanks Laughing

Hi! This group seems tailor-made for me. I have the calorie-counting and the exercise down, and I hope this will help me find support. I love the idea of Wednesday weigh-ins. Also would love to find a buddy- I'm into books, music, cooking (lacto-vegetarian healthy food) and blogging about it. HI so happy I found this site. I am recovering from major surgery that had complications. I have been unable to work or do any exercise for the last 6 weeks. Plus I finally stopped smoking after some 30 plus years.

Only eating 1200 calories.

At one time in my life I weighted over 350lbs. I lost it all the wrong way in less than 1 year I went down to 150lbs.Now I am ready to lose it the RIGHT way for good.

Im very excited that I found this site. It has taught me to count my calories and Not become the "Next Top Chef" I had the habit of cooking southern food...you know, food for the soul. That when you cook with all the animals that cross your path....lol.

Now that I have this site... I plan to focus more on what I eat and how many calories I need to intake. But one thing I have noticed since I have became a member. How the hell can I eat all day and not have enough calories for the day. WTF am I doing wrong....lol
