28 weeks and 3days pregnant and over weight
I weighed 145lb before i got pregnant now i weigh 178lb i am overweight and i am not good at starting excercise programs. I need some advice.
sweet momma:
be safe what ever you do.
I was miserable HUGE when i was pregnant ( my daughter is 2 mnths old)
i dont rec. an exercise regime while pregnant other than yoga and brisk walking. about 28 weeks for me was late summer, (early september) and it got a little difficault for me to walk more than 2 miles bc i would get bad cramps (like a stitch in my side). i started my pregnancy at 163 ( 20 lbs more than both other pregnancies) i was 208 when i delivered. this tuesday will be 4 weeks on my diet and i am 165.
You need to relax with your weight gain. It takes away from your joy of being pregnant. The weight will come off after delivery. I finally learned that this past pregnancy! you really just need to let nature take its course, eat what you like ( in moderation) and worry about nothing more than taking care of yourself RIGHT NOW!! worrying about your weight is 'tomorrow guy's problem!" (after your beautiful little bundle arrives!)
best wishes!!!
i just wanted to say congrats to u- a new baby is such a joy- i had my 2nd on nov 30 last yr. i currently weigh about 176 and am 5'4 so ya im overweight! but u know i went up to 205 lbs being preg and started at 178 when i got preg so try not to worry to much! Just i would suggest to eat healthy - avoid the big macs and whoppers and shoot for a salad- u just need to watch the junk! I have been on here not compulsively counting but since jan 2 and started at 185! The weight will come off- just really enjoy the baby and eat what satisfies you! I full time breastfeed my lil man- which im sure has helped but i just try to relax and eat better- cause i dont always get to workout! enjoy being preg- cause soon u wont have time in a day for yourself! :)
thanks yall its really hard seeing stretch marks in places you nerver thought they could be.
If you haven't been active through your pregnancy, 28 weeks is not a good time to start. You can walk, that would be good for you, but nothing more strenuous than that. The best thing you can do now is eat your maitenance calories, and eat healthy to minimize the amount of weight you put on in the next 12 weeks. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, pregnant women need only about 300 extra calories, so use the tools here to figure out your the approximate calories necessary for your height, weight and activity level, add an extra 300 to that, and try to stick to that as best as possible. But remember, you are pregnant, enjoy it and try not to worry about the weight, you can get it off afterwards, and if you breastfeed, that will speed up the process greatly as breastfeeding burns and extra 500-800 calories a day!
