36 weeks, dilated 1cm, pelvic pain, abdominal pain.
Just want some advice. I went to the doctor yesterday for all over severe back pain and I was dilated 1cm. I am just 36 weeks, 4 days. I went Friday also, just for a checkup when the doctor told me if I went into labor, they wouldn't stop it. That doesn't worry me though. I'm just over feeling like this. My first pregnancy was smooth and easy(that I remember). :o) I can't walk right. It feels like she's pushing her way out. I can't close my legs all the way. Yesterday they sent me home from work for bed rest and I'm afraid if I go back before it's ready, she'll put me on bed rest for sure! Geez, It hurts!!
Did anyone else feel this way before you went into labor? I know I can stay at 1cm for a while or I could be dilating as I type this.
Sounds like you're in labor. I only labored for 3 hours with my first and not at all with my second (two c-sections) so I may not be the best judge. I know that there is a "back labor" where all your labor pain is felt in your back.
What did your doctor say when you went in yesterday? Did they think you were in labor? Was your doctor the one who told you to take the rest of the day off yesterday? It sounds like you should be at home, not at work. Remember, labor during a second pregnancy can move more quickly than the first.
So...are you having contractions? My doctor told me to call him if my contractions were 7-9 minutes apart with my second pregnancy (I was told 3-5 minutes apart with my first). Have your symptoms gotten worse since ysterday?
Sorry for all the questions, there's just not enough info to form an opinion (at least, for ME to form an opinion).
Ok, first let me say I'm no expert and that you should go with your instincts if you think you need medical help, but I'll tell you what hapened to me...
When I was 37 weeks pregnant with my third child my midwife told me the baby was breech. Two days later, while I was sitting watching T.V., I had this incredible pain across my abdomen. I thought I would die! It was intense and lasted for quite a while, and then slowly went away.
When I went to see the doctor a few days later he told me the baby had turned himself. I told him about the pain I had experienced and he said that that was probably when it had happened. If the baby had stopped in the horizontal position I'm assuming the pain would have continued.
So my point is that maybe your baby is in a really bad position right now??? Maybe if you lie down it might take the pressure off your pelvis and help move the baby to a new position. Try different positions. At 36 weeks there's still enough room for your baby to move around a bit.
Most importantly though, seek medical attention if you feel like you need it.
