6 weeks, 10 pounds, no excuses! You in?

So, my family is planning a vacation in August, this is the perfect motivation for me to finally get myself back in gear. So my challenge for the 6 weeks is to lose 10 pounds, that's by August 1st. Totally do-able if I stay committed.

So does anyone have a similar goal or something they would like to keep up on for 6 weeks with me? I really want to do this. Since hearing of this vacation today it finally clicked...what am I waiting for??? I am gonna lose weight before ever family vacation or do I need to just get myself in shape for good!

So here is my plan:Various workouts including slim in 6, 30 day sculpt, running and weight training/cardio at the gym. It al depends on my schedule for the day and what I can sneak in.

Low carbs, no refined sugars. So basically no crap! Sensible snacks!

No more diet soda...it makes me want to binge. Water and tea.

1200-1500 cals.

Join me, let's kick ass for the next 6 weeks and see what we can do!

Stats: 5'4 (and a half? ha ha)

Weight: 133 (late night weigh in, prob more like 131, 132)

Goal: 120ish

Count me in.  I could use a little motivation, I've been slacking way too much, need to get back into the swing of things.

Stats: 5'6 (.6)

Weight: 179.8

Goal: 150 (eventually, obviously not in 6 weeks, but I would like to get a good chunk done and get loosing again!!)

My Plan:

Try out some of the idea from the No-S diet.  All the sugar I'm consuming is killing me.  Exercise-wise - Keep up with the walking, add more.  Not sure when, but there's gotta be time somewhere.

So how do you want to do this?  Keep checking in here?  Journals?  I'll add you as a friend, I have more specific goals in my journal.

I  vow to not eat any crap- no chips, pretzels, cookies, candy, cheese dip (oh, not the cheese dip!), etc. Only lean protein, veggies, fruits, whole grains...lots o'water, etc. I wish I could say no alcohol, but...can't promise that.

Yay Ladies! Let's do it! My idea for the challenge is to keep motivated for the full 6 weeks, no it wont be lots of rules and points. It's just simple. Check in, let each other know how we are doing....maybe set ourself little challenges for the day.

For me, for today, my mini challenge is to kick this off the right way. A new beginning. Today I vow to do everything on my list....workout, low carb and lots of water tea. Prove to myself that I can have a good day all around. I usually eat good but don't workout or vice versa. If I want this to work I need to get both areas straight and consistent.

Mini Goal: get to the gym today! i have a serious problem getting to the gym if i don't go straight after work, and i have no gym bag w/ me today. danger will robinson. unfortunately i've already eaten 2 cheeto puffs, so i can't vow no junk today. but no more of those cheetos!

My august motivation is nick's best friend's wedding. Nick's a groomsman so he'll be in a tux, and i'd love to look really sharp next to him in a dress that will probably cost too much, but be fabulous. i'll be with another groomsman's girlfriend who's even skinnier than we were in H.S. and always looks great, plus she's very smart and accomplished, and i'd like to feel i look just as great.

Plan: i'm with you, tay & mc, out with the sugar and processed junk, all about the lean protein, fruit and veg. i need to stop being lazy with 30 min of mindless cardio 5x a week and do some resistance. i'll start bootcamp type stuff, and get back into 5-factor exercises, or old routines from my trainer.

we are so going to do this!

Goal 120-125 steady

Everytime I get below 130 (I was at 129.0  a couple days ago.)  I blow it and tend to feel like I can go ahead and eat a whole bunch of potato chips...for example last night...so this morning a disappointing 130.9,  YUCK.  Today I will eat well...and drink lots of water.  Have a party to go to tonight, so I WILL keep the munching to a minimum, and WILL TRY my hardest to have just a couple of drinks.  That's a hard one seeing as it's girls night.

Goal: 124

My plan is to be moderate in eating and exercising (excluding certain things entirely doesn't work for me although doing lower carb tends to keep me satisfied longer).  I tend to binge frequently and over compensate by exercising which then spirals around to more bingeing, no weightloss, and lots of frustration.  I'd like to get the two a little more in line.  Next week I'm going to try doing a little less exercise (burning about 2000-2200 per day) and keeping my cals at 1400-1600.  If nothing else, it will change things up a bit and give me a break!

I'm looking forward to doing this.  I saw 127.4 for a few days at the beginning of June (my lowest adult weight at this height) and I'm excited to get back there!

Hey everyone.  I'd like to join.  I'm new to calorie counts plus and this is my first post.  I'm motivated so far with my eating...exercise is another story.

Goal: 140

My goal is to work out at least 4 times a week either at the gym or at home.  Also, does anyone know where I can find the daily guidelines for proteins/carbs/fats?  I look at the analysis and I have no clue what it means.  So far, I'm getting a "B".  I'd like to do better.

irothell- we can do this! we have been buddy's for awhile, we have similar stats and goals as we know, lets do this together!

burnyh- i am just like you. I get below 130 and then I feel entitled to snack. Like "hey I am under 130, I can eat whatever I want" ha ha. We need to break that habit. Enjoy girls night!

hb- i know that you can kick ass! glad you are here! the wedding is awesome motivation!

I will be back to check in after work tonight..already did 30 day sculpt level 2 this morning. Had miso soup and a peach for breakfast, will have salad for lunch and have packed chiken and brown rice with edamame for dinner. Snacks will be string cheese and almonds.

Getting geared up for the weekend, weekends are tough. But if I do great today, I will not want to blow it!

I hope that everyone else has had a good start to their weekend.  I've had a good day, got in an early workout, and have done well with my eating.  My deficit was larger than I'd normally like, but between the heat and running around a lot, I think it's fine for today.  I made a huge mexican salad for dinner (with a mojito) and I think I'm done for the night.  Hope you're all doing well!

Mmm, mexican salad and mojito! Sounds awesome! I did well yesterday and good for the most part today. Would love to squeeze a workout in today but I have been so busy. I am sure I can atleast get a 20 minute in the 30 day shred!

Hey everyone, I made up an exercise plan for next week when I try to intentionally not got in too much activity (I've been feeling lately like I need to burn 2400-2800 calories per day which leads to tiredness, bingeing, frustration, and not meeting my goals.)  Would you mind taking a look at the plan and letting me know if it looks okay or if it still seems like too much?  I'm going to try to get somewhere in the range of 1400-1600 calories during the week.  I know that I need to be disciplined about food and not just exercise and I'm hoping that this will help.  I've listed the exercise and the calories that I'll burn for the day.  Thank you!  
  • Sunday- Run 3 miles/walk 3 -2115 calories
  • Monday- Run 6 miles/weights for 30 minutes -2285  
  • Tuesday- Elliptical 50 minutes/Bike 15 minutes -2300
  • Wednesday- Run 6-7 miles/weights for 30 minutes -2375  
  • Thursday- Run 5 miles -2100  
  • Friday- Elliptical 40 minutes/weights 30 minutes -2250  
  • Saturday- Run 8 miles/walk 1 mile -2500  
  •  Sunday- Walk 5 miles -2000
  

Hi, I know I'm a bit late in joining but I am SO up for the challenge of loosing 10 pounds by August 1st.

My Current weight is around 143 and I wanna get down to 130 so this sounds ideal.

I've eaten 750 calories for breakfast/lunch today. Now I'm going down the gym to try to burn off all 750 cals and then I'm going to have 300 cals for dinner.

We have FIVE WEEKS left to shift those 10 pounds, which means we need to loose 2 pounds per week...totally managable- stay motivated!!!

Irothell, your workout plan looks hardcore! For me anyways. I wish I could run 6 miles! I think it looks great, you have a good mix. Stay fueled!

I have been a liitle bad today, I am PMSing! 2 chocolate chip cookies at work :(  However, my weigh in this moring was 130.8. So if I can work out all week and eat sensibly, I think I can see 128 by the end of the week.

 Ahh late night eating....the sabotage of so many of my good diet days

I've already lost a couple of pounds after the first 2 days....water weight probably but it's put me at just above 140 so now I really do have 10 pounds to loose.

ok, not the best this weekend, i need to get into the swing of this challenge, next weekend will be better ;)

but on the positive side, at the carnival yesterday the only food i ate was a shared shish kabob- no pierogies, buttered corn, corn dogs, funnel cake, or deep fried strawberries!

i think fake sugar stuff might trigger me too. i have 100 cal, sugar free, ice cream bars. when i have one, it doesn't satisfy me, it just makes me want More.

mini goal: today at the gym i will do more than cardio! and i will eat dinner before 7pm.

So, this morning I am magically up to 132. Still PMSing so it should be anyday now.

I am going to do slim in 6 this morning and I am off from work today so I am in complete control of my eating and I am going to do well.

Welcome, mukso and member76!  Taylor, sounds like a good day to be home and good job keeping your PMS-ing in check.  Isn't it amazing how our weight can just spontaneously go up like that?

I didn't have a great weekend.  I was 131 yesterday (still haven't been able to get to 130 at all!) and then I spent all night bingeing because my husband fell asleep and I was stressed about some stuff.  None of my overeating has been out of hunger recently -it's all emotional and I feel so out of control!  Up to 133.6 today, which I know is some water weight, but it was still discouraging to see.

Goal today is not to eat until I'm really and truly hungry and then not to binge when I do.

irothell- i'm jealous of your routine, too. i'm in awe of your running.

mini goal: try for 45 min of cardio at the gym. i always leave after 30; it gets unbearable w/out music and i keep forgetting my ipod.

I'm no officially 140 which means 10 pounds to go....I'm feeling really positive today, I KNOW I can do this....and so can you guys!

I kind of want to find a nice dress or something to have my eye on when I reach my goal weight. I'm thinking of a nice new pair of jeans maybe.
