6 weeks of hardly any activity

Quote  |  Reply

i am really excited about my weight loss goals, but i just had a baby 3 weeks ago, and the doc and physio said no heavy activity, and walking for longer distances isnt recommended yet. what am i supposed to do, I am still losing weight, but without doing the full gamut of weight loss things, I feel  like I am losing a bit of enthusiasm...

any tips to stay motivated, and lightly shift some of these pounds?

First of all, congratulations on your little bundle of joy! I don't have too much input, but I have heard breastfeeding burns a lot of calories.

1. If you're losing weight, why are you complaining?

2. Breastfeeding does burn lots of calories, and its totally natural, and makes your baby healthier/smarter.

3. 2 months of exercise is not gonna kill you, use your baby and dumbbels, lift it above your head a couple times. (Yes im serious and yes i did see this on a video, lol)

4. Go for short walks. But listen to the doctors and dont do anything heavy, you're still recovering.

5. Chill. You're losing weight, and you're allowed to restrict again, since you've already given birth.

Btw, 1200 calories on top of exercising an hour a day is WAY too low for you. You should be eating closer to 2000.
