Hi All

I joined this site on 21st August 2009 and initially found it a pain to enter calories on it. I ended up doing my own tags as I eat a lot of proper home made indian food which is not  listed correctly or not at all. Now I have got used to it and love the toolbar gauge which you can download , brilliant - try it !!

I am delighted to say that I have lost 8 pounds as at today and feel ecstatic. I am 6ft 1 and weighed about 205 pounds ! I reduced my calorie intake from 2400 to about 1700 per day ( hardly starving !  LOL ) and go for a 40 minute brisk walk every other day (4 mph ). Also I started doing leg raises lying flat 10 twice a day slowly focussing on the stomach. I also exhale when standing and then pull I stomach in for 10/15 seconds 4/5 times  day ( this is called a stomach vacum on u tube ) . I have reduced 2 belt loops already !  I cannot thank this site enough and am singing its praises to everyone.

Who needs expensive gyms when you can do it with a bit of self discipline and  control of what you eat.  My energy levels have noticebly improved and I now enjoy dieting ! and am excited at watching the scales defy what they used to do just a month ago.

As James brown said " I feel Good " !!

Congratulations and thanks for posting, Manjit.  It's nice to hear success stories.

Be careful not to eat too little.  You didn't give all your stats (age, sex, etc), but at 6'1", 1700 cals doesn't seem like much.

Hi Jenny ,

Hi Gillagerl ,

Thats a lovely thing to share and I wish you eevry success with your dieting

Just remember you consume less calries than you burn and you will lose weight. A brisk walk wuth good walking shoes at say 3 or 4 mph for 30/40 minutes will help you

love and best wishes

Well done!!!!! You go for it, that is a great result!

It does get easier (the logging) and it really becomes second nature lol

Obviously I want to congratulate you on your success and wanted to share that I'm feeling the same results! I joined just last week (exactly a week ago) and I've lost 3 lbs since then.

Who would have thought that this was possible with just a little self-control and no expensive memberships at a gym. Laughing

That is great!  Thanks so much so sharing!

Thank you Lisa and Dawn

Wishing you both the very best and its great to see such a community spirit here

kind regards

Manjit
