************SEPTEMBER BONUS CHALLENGE IS HERE*********

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~13 pounds by the 31~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you don't have a need to, desire to, ability to lose the full 21 pounds, how about just 13 pounds from September 1 to October 31?!?!?
************SEPTEMBER BONUS CHALLENGE IS HERE*********
11 weeks to lose "up to" 21 pounds, ending Oct 31!
Late arrivals are always welcome!   If you join in late, just prorate..lol
I like the way the numbers work out for this.  Remember it is "up to" 21 pounds so every loser is a winner in this challenge.  Lose 1 pound and you did it, lose 21 pounds and you can brag that you did it!  ;)
I also have a "mini" challenge to add on Sept 1 for those of us that just need to meet a stated goal in order to feel satisfied.  It will be much easier to reach for than a 2 pound a week loss and it has such a cute title I just have to use it.
So join in with you starting weight and good luck!
I wasn't feeling that great this past week on account of being under the weather and I think that was the reason for most of my weight loss; normally I don't lose weight this quickly.  Any pointers on how to prevent a rebound and keep it off?
For a little background on me...I don't keep a daily calorie log (I'm too lazy and then just get discouraged), but I do try to eat small meals, limit my calories from coffee and juices, and walk to work daily.  I also just joined a gym so that I can learn to play squash.  It's really fun and gets the heart working hard.
Welcome, pinkjane. I see that you are from my "old neighborhood." I lived in Norman Wells, Fort Simpson, and Yellowknife. Are you originally from the North? Just thinking about it brings back so many memories of a much simpler life... dirt roads, wooden sidewalks, not wearing shoes all summer until the first day of school, picking wild berries, and going fishing.
I wanted to put this post up before tomorrow's weigh in so everyone can see it prior to Sept 1.  I think 13 pounds in 9 1/2 weeks is doable, yes?  I hope so :)
I have started a walking routine to help up my weight loss, if anyone wants to join in I started a thread.  Back to school ~ Back to walking SEPTEMBER Challenge
Good luck with tomorrows weigh in!
oooh... 9.5 weeks for 13... I'm hoping to get my last ten in that time...the way I've been fluctuating, it might just be 13 by the first!!! LOL, alright, modifying it to.... "or atm my goal weight" but I'll take that seriously and push for 2 weeks earlier (though I hear "the last ten" is the hardest)
2 Weeks down 9 more to go!
3 pounds down and 15.8 to go.. :)  So far the math doesn't add up, but it will work out fine for the "13bythe31st" mini challenge!
Everyone else on target?
I was doing so well this week!!! I even did EXTRA cardio too! BUT I totally self sabotaged last night!!!! I haven't been drinking (saving up for this weekend) and I managed to stick to this, but I WAY overate yesterday, 2 bowls of pasta, half a box of milk duds, half a box of whoppers, 3x 100 cal choc/peanut butter wafers and some soymilk to wash it down!!! ahhhhhhhhhhh...that's like 1000 extra cals! I was maintaining from last week even if the scale wasn't seeing a change...but I'm up 2lb this week!!!! Will try not to go overboard too much this weekend...just disappointed in myself :( and way off track for the challenge :(
    OK, so not exactly what I was looking for, but at least in the right direction. A little self-sabotage on my part too. Believe it or not, white rice is a deal-breaker for me (which we had Thurs night) and of course my kids love it, so it's around routinely. Plus I was at home all day -- also very hard. I do very well on days that I'm working and then I'm a snack-a-holic it seems. I'm going to try very hard to log everything, which I know helps me immensely but I find it hard when I actually cook food as I'm a throw it together cook and have trouble writing it all down and estimating portions. Anyway, I'm really going to challenge myself not to graze through the weekend so I can maintain progress.
    Johgar: hang in there, your scale might be the random result of the morning after a not as great day, if you get back on the bandwagon, you might find that maybe you didn't actually gain that much, per se, or that it won't be as hard to drop it anyway. After my evening transgression of white rice Thurs, I'm down to 149.5 today after eating well on Friday (I was actually 148 earlier in the week, when I was totally on board). I kind of figure if I can 5-6/7 good days of exercise and eating, that may be enough to keep the scale going down.
    Love the new challenge. I'm also going to challenge myself to log food this week and drink enough water.
    Running late with posting, but better late than never.  I'm a little disappointed with this week, but not surprised. I went to the gym 4 times over the week, which is great, but I also ate a lot.  On the plus side, even though my weight is is basically the same I'm starting to notice improved muscle tone in my legs thanks to the running/walking at the gym.  So I still feel pretty good about the week.
