Pounds lost Week 4:  -2.0 pounds

Starting Weight:  237.0 pounds

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

My eating.  I am working out like a crazed woman, but not eating healthy foods and lower calories.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

1.  When I am tempted to eat junk food or unhealthy food take a few minutes, close my eyes, and focus on my goal weight, and 3 reasons why I want to be at my goal weight:  1.  more energy to care for my children  2.  Lower my health risks for heart, cancer, etc.  3.  Have a more attractive appearance.

Will you commit to these steps that you outlined above to yourself and this board?!
Yes.  I will.  I do.

Let's come back next week with a great big loss!

Good Luck Summer Count Downers!!

Behavioral modifictions

1)  Buy healthier food for myself on the weekends and less beer.

2)  Force myself to work out even when I don't feel like it.

Will you commit?

I sure will...starting to see the lbs. come off is the biggest motivator for me.  It's going great on this end.

Pounds lost Week 4:  +.25 pounds

Starting Weight:  146.0 pounds

Pounds lost since challenge:  2.25 pounds

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

Sticking to an eating schedule.  I work such odd hours and eat randomly, so it's hard to stick to a healthy diet. I also just got back from a 4-day cruise, and althought I tried my best, I know I ate way more than I should have.  Not as much as I would have a year ago, but still not healthy.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

Keep healthy snacks around at all times.

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?
Weight fluctuations.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?
Can't think of any.  I'm not quitting over them though, so it's not really a problem, just frustrating to watch.

Will you commit to these steps that you outlined above to yourself and this board?!
I'm pretty committed.  I was on the road for seven days, including a day spent in vegas, and I only cheated twice (both times on purpose).  I had a notebook and a fast food calorie book that helped me log meals.  I guessed a lot though, but still came under maintainance.

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

My eating. I just haven't been eating all the right things like should be.  I also need to watch my sodium intake

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

For one in a few weeks I will be going home and I can rely more on my own cooking and make better food choices. Yeah for going home.  I will learn to tell myself NO!.  There is just somethings I can't have. I will also just be patient with everything that's going.  I see the changes that aren't reflected on the scale and sometime that's a good thing.

At first it was just sticking to the diet.  I've been getting creative with my food, and got a low calorie cookbook I pick 3 recipes from each week to try, just so I'm not eating the same things each week.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

I joined a gym and got a personal trainer (sort of!) which has helped a lot!  I've also started taking TV dinners to work for lunch, so I'm saving some money AND eating fewer calories

Starting Weight:  186.0 pounds

Pounds lost since challenge:  5 pounds

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

My biggest frustration is that I have been at 181 for 2 weeks now, and have been eating and exercising like a champ. Saturday morning I weighed in at 178, and celebrated by eating somewhat normal for the day, apparently, bad idea.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

I can no longer let myself go on weekends. I will stick to my diet through thick and thin. I will NOT go out drinking on weekends. If I do, I will make calorie modifications in my earlier meals.

Pounds lost last week: 0.5 lb

Total Lost so far for the challenge: 0.5 lb

Starting Weight in January 2007: 196 lbs

Starting Weight for the challenge: 182 lbs

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

1)      Weight fluctuation; my weight kept changing throughout the week between 180 and 183 without apparent reasons.

2)      Not seeing the scale shifting downward while I am trying really hard and want to lose weight really bad.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

Determination no matter what the scale says;

Try to increase my calories intake.

Will you commit to these steps that you outlined above to yourself and this board?!

Yes.
Current Weight:  140 lbs.

Last Week Weight:  139 lbs

Pounds lost Week 4:  +1 lb.

Starting Weight:  148 lbs.

Pounds lost since challenge:  8 lbs.

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

My Period!!!  I am just zapped for energy, making excercising next to impossible, craving everything unhealthy, and gaining weight, even though I'm sticking within my calorie limit!  Another frustration is trying to lower my fats, and up my protein, but I've been unsuccesful so far, and I'm so picky, I'm having a real hard time with this.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

Ignore the weigh in when I have my period.  I've heard the nightmares about people gaining up to 10 pounds of water weight.  Just one pound was SOOOO frustruating, and discouraging.  I need to remember to stick with my calorie limit, and ignore the numbers that week!

Will you commit to these steps that you outlined above to yourself and this board?!
Good golly, I'll try!  I hope I can!  Only 5 weeks left till summer, 6 weeks till vacation in Florida.  That doesn't seem that far away any more!  Keep up the great work everyone!!!!

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

I have been ill for the majority of the time, and this week got flu. I have been unable to exercise, and my eating hasn't been the best... I probably haven't been eating enough, which would account for the large weight loss!! But it couldn't be helped...

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

I don't know! Get better?! haha.

Will you commit to these steps that you outlined above to yourself and this board?!

Pompey

Last week: 194

Last Week Weight:  206.4 pounds

Pounds lost Week 4:  -2 pounds

Starting Weight:  210.2 pounds

Pounds lost since challenge:  5.8 pounds

What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks?

Weekends!! (and therefore weighing in on Mondays).  I do so well during the week, and the weekend I always ?let go a bit,? as I?m hanging out with friends, family, and don?t want to be ?on a diet.?  The calories don?t increase that much, but the food is usually less nutritional and high in sodium.

What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success?

Logging my calories faithfully on the weekend as well as during the week.  Exercising a little longer on the weekends to make up for indiscretions.  Drinking enough water on the weekends.

Will you commit to these steps that you outlined above to yourself and this board?!
Yes?it keeps me motivated.
