I always make sure that I dont consume too much sodium so that water weight wont be an issue.
Yeah, I try to lay off the sodium slightly. But that's about it. There's not much you can do in a day to try to ensure a positive number. It's all about what you've done since your previous weigh in.
I don't drink any soda, diet or otherwise for a couple days before, carbonation makes me retain water. I also up my water intake a little bit to flush myself out a bit. In the end does any of it make a difference? Probably not but I like to feel like I have *some* control at least.
i would quit eating early... like no later than 7 p.m. the night before. also, i drink a LOT of water the day before. or tea. but no alcohol, milk, pop, etc.
not to be a little blunt... but going to the bathroom before you weigh in can make some ounces of a difference. :-)
i don't really do anything different, but i weigh myself everyday. lol maybe you want to eat more "good" foods the day before & eat light & get alot of fiber.
good luck with your weigh in! :D

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
