How much should I weigh??

HI,

I am a 27 year old female.  M weight is 99 pounds and I'm 5'1.

What is the average weight for my age and height?

I want to maintain my weight and I go to the gym 2 - 4 times a week (depending on my schedule) but I can't seem to tone up my legs and stomach.  Any suggestions?

Right now you are at the low end of the healthy range for your height. As for what is a healthy weight for you, that depends on your body frame, how much muscle/fat you have, etc.  Have you discussed your weight with your doctor?  As long as the two of you are in agreement that you are at a healthy weight for your body type then I wouldn't be too concerned.

As for toning up your legs and stomach, what kind of exercises are you doing at the gym?  How long have you been doing these exerices?

Also, now that you are in maintenance mode, make sure that you are slowly increasing your calories from "dieting calories" to "maintenance calories".

I think for 5'1" any where around 100 - 130 is normal weight.  So you are NOT overweight.  Maybe just a little unfit.  If you are having trouble "toning up" it is likely you aren't doing your exercises with enough intensity.  Add more weight to your weight routine and add in some more erxercises.  Ask a PT at the gym for help.  You don't necessarily have to pay them to show you how to use the equipments and stuff like that. 

2-4 days a week is plenty.  You can do less cardio as well, to save time.  It won't help as much as a better weight routine.

Well I never was dieting.  I have always been small framed.  I just have been more cautions of what I've been eating since I've quit smoking.  While I was smoking I was 92 pounds so I've gained around 7.  As for excersises I'm usually on the elliptical, do crunches and sit ups. Also I go to cardio classes.

a bmi of 21 is slim and healthy

if your under 20 you better be careful

if you are over 22 you desperately need more exercise and healthier food
