WEIGH IN FOR 5'6"ish 168ish GROUP. New Members WELCOME!
Starting off at 166. That's what the scale said this morning and eventhough I think the scale is a lying bastard, that is the number I am going with for first weigh in.
And my measurements were actually surprising this morning. 38' bust, 32' waist, 41.5 hips. surprising in that, I actually thought they would be higher. Huh. who knew? I mean, still needs work, obviously, but not as much as I thought. I measured arms and thighs too, but I don't remember what it was.
So how's everyone else doing today?

I'm 38 years old. I'm 5'7". My current weight is 135. Since I am have a (very) small frame, I would like to get back to 120 lbs.
I have been dealing with 135 lbs for the past 6 weeks. I do strength training, but did not make time to do cadio...so it's my own fault. My caloric intake is around 1200-1300. (I hope I record it right)
Thank you everyone for making CC community so nice and supportive. Where I am at, it's not easy to find buddies who are willing to work on diet and excercise (I invited a lot of friends, family members, coworked to join cc, but so far no one really has interest.) ![]()

Lol ok this doesn't have to be answered by you, but by anybody reading this: how exactly do you know where to measure? I've never done this before in my LIFE so I don't know how to do it, but i too feel inspired to do it! I think it's a great way to keep motivated as well....
I'm sure there is a website that can physically show how to measure your body, so if anyone knows right off the top of their head let me know please!!
I measure at the widest points. except for my waist. then just above the belly button. I think that just as long as you measure in the same place every time, at least you'll be able to see if there is a difference.
My current weight as of July 14th (yesterday) is 157.8.
I lost 8 lbs in one week! Go me! It was very hard but I did it~
22 more pounds to go!
10 more pounds by August 8th!

Okay...one week later and I have lost a very difficult 2 pounds.
Good morning all! I got a new scale this week and it weighs heavier than the old one..(old one really sucked, but it was kind with the numbers). Weigh in this morning...176 not bad considering the old scale read 175 (it was 5 or so lbs off)

Good morning ladies!! (I didn't noticed any men on here)
Our first week to weigh in and I'm proud to say I clocked in this morning at 173.2!! Finally, a brand new number. That's a loss of -2.4 from last week. I have to admit that my number last week isn't the lowest I've seen in my 3 months playing in the 70's but today's is so I am soo veryyyy happy!!
I'm hoping this loss is because I've upped my cals a little the past couple weeks. Please please please let that be why.

I don't expect this again because I did really well all this week and VERY crappy last week. That's why the drastic number but I'll take it either way :D I had a great week of eating fairly well and close to my caloric limit also did exercise all but one day.

So this is basically my first week at CC and I have felt unbelievably better. I started the week at 177 and weighed in yesterday at 169.5. My husband and I are traveling this weekend so I was unable to weigh in with my scale this morning. I'm assuming this is mostly water weight that I have lost but hey I will take whatever I can get! I missed Friday's weigh-in. I'm really discouraged because lately I haven't been doing anythingggg, have not stuck to it at all. No exercise either. I went to the doctor's office for an emergency with my mom and I was 168 UGH! I haven't lost in 2weeks, and I still have of a goal of 160 by August. Anyway, I'm gettin back on track since it's Monday morning, and hope Friday's weigh-in has some better results for me!

I also missed fridays weigh-in..... and unfortunately, the only loss there has been for me this week is my grandma. She passed away Saturday. She had liver and bowel cancer.
I see things getting even more difficult now with this whole weight loss saga.
Im still going to try but right now Im in a definate rut. I did weight myself over the weekend (although I didnt really care what the scale said) and I actually gained weight....whether its water or not, I dont know.....
Either way it sucks...so...if you dont hear from me very often this week or so, Im here in spirit, k? lol....

Tinka, I totally feel your pain, I spent all weekend with my grandmother in the hospital. She had two strokes this past week. It was her first time ever having one, so you can imagine, how crazy we were all going. She is 91, and we are very worried about her... I slept there almost all weekend, and have been stressing out like crazy. You have to take it day by day and just by happy that she is now in a better place... My grandma being sick made me think even more about losing weight and being healthy... MY family has a history of Diabetes, and being overweight does not help that...
so definitely motivate yourself, and think that your grandma would have wanted you to be healthy and happy! Hope you are feeling better...
As for the rest of us, those that didn't lose, try harder focus on your goals ladies! Do not get discouraged, because that will cause you to get depressed and eat... Last night I went to SHop Rite and I wanted some Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies so bad... and then I thought... is it worth eating this and regretting it later? Or would I rather here people tell me that I look like I lost weight... that answered my question, right away...

MY weight in this morning, was as follows:
7/14 weight: 157.6
Today: 7/21 weight: 154.8
I lost almost 3 lbs, which is not bad... I am happy with it... About 7 more to go Until August 4th!

As of this week, I have weighed in at 151lbs. I'm proud of that since for the past two weeks, I've been too busy with work to log my calories.
Aw Tinka {{hugs}} I'm so sorry about your grandmother. I hope you are surrounded by lots of loved ones right now. Don't worry about that gain either. I truly believe when we are under lots of stress we end up gaining as a defense machanism our body does.
Bella, I hope your grandmother gets better. I'm sure that is a scary thing. {{hugs}} to you too!

So....I disappeared for a few days....I had a crazy day on Friday, but I wish I would have logged bc if I had, I would've been able to log a 1.5 lb. loss. Scale said 164.5 last Friday.
But...of course there's a but... I disappeared because the Pitchfork Music Fest was this wkend and I had a friend in town too. I did not count calories at all and I didn't exercise for 4 days in a row. So, needless to say, the scale is up this week. But for the next 2 weeks I will (hopefully) have no distractions. I am going to switch over to a very clean diet. All whole foods until July 31st. Fruits and veggies, nuts and beans, maybe some fish if I feel that the protein is lacking. No alcohol or diet soda. I have to clean up what I did last weekend and do it all again for Lollapalooza - Aug 1st through third. I would be thrilled if I went into Lollapalooza at 160. Especially because there will be about 30,000 cute boys there and LADIES! I am still single! I did get hit on by a very cute boy last weekend...that felt nice...but my stupid loud mouth girlfriend ruined it...long story...all that matters is that a cute boy thought I was cute. And that's cool.

I feel for you both Tink and Bella...I've had grandma troubles too both in the past and ongoing. You will feel better soon no matter what happens Bella and Tink...time heals all wounds. sounds trite I know, but it will be ok.
Just a quick log on. shouldn't have weighed myself, but I did...DD had her 8th birthday and we partied for 3 days, cake, ice cream, chips, burgers....soooo good! I didn't exercise either, 178 yesterday
, but I'm back on the wagon...walked for an hour today and plan to keep it up again (weather permitting) Logging calories and activities and all is well again today..we'll see what the Friday weigh in brings![]()
I am new to this thread and you won't believe how I found it. I had previously typed 5' 7" 168 in the google search bar once and I found it recently, got curious so I clicked on it and searched. I didn't really expect to find anything. Now that I have, I want to join.
168 is roughly my top weight if you don't count pregnancy and the first week after birth. I weighed 172 after I gave birth 8 years ago and was 168 the following week. I am now 33 yrs old. 125 was my lowest when I was 21 and I am most comfortable around 135. But I recently bought a very accurate digital scale and my weight went up 8 lbs from my previous scale. Also, now, when I go to the doctor, with my shoes, I weigh about what I weighed on my new scale nearly naked in the morning.
Anyway, I weigh in almost every day but I haven't been able to take off the weight that I put back on when I stopped nursing. While I was nursing I was 135 and size 8. So 6 years ago I gained about 25 lbs and never lost it.
I am now 162 but I lost 3 lbs in the past two weeks and I assume it's increased activity but I am a low-moderately active person always. I swim laps intermitantly, do yoga, sometimes pilates marathons with Stotts pilates CDs. Anyway, hoping to eat less, more fruit less refined carbs and up the activity. My goal is 130 b/c I am small framed but I don't think I want to go below that even though the weight charts say for 5' 7" with small frame I should be between 123 and 136.

I hate that I'm top heavy. I have the reverse of the measurements used to manufacture clothes.
I was 123 (although not recently) and I hated it! I did feel boney and tired and unhealthy. I think somewhere between 130 and 140 for a 5' 6-7" person is about right. In my opinion, a size 8 is just about perfect.When I was in my smaller phase (many moons ago) I felt great at an 8. not too skinny but slim enough to turn heads. Lets not loose sight of the healthy figure ladies.....
