WEIGH IN FOR 5'6"ish 168ish GROUP. New Members WELCOME!

Quote  |  Reply

Starting off at 166. That's what the scale said this morning and eventhough I think the scale is a lying bastard, that is the number I am going with for first weigh in.

And my measurements were actually surprising this morning. 38' bust, 32' waist, 41.5 hips. surprising in that, I actually thought they would be higher. Huh. who knew? I mean, still needs work, obviously, but not as much as I thought. I measured arms and thighs too, but I don't remember what it was.

So how's everyone else doing today?

Hey Mate!!  Glad to 'see' you.  Smile

I'm so glad you guys are talking about good weights for our height.  Since I've never been thin I still have no clue what to expect at what weights.  My weight goals are all "dependant on" because of this reason.  I always considered myself medium framed but as I get smaller I'm starting to question that too.  Eh, beats me!!  Wink

OK...so what the MOO!!! ( Absolutely no pun intended.) I would like to know why when I have been counting calories faithfully (1350-1500. About 80% of the time close or right on the 1350 mark), and watching the fat intake (always less than 30%), and walking at least 4 days a week has ended up gaining me weight and numbers!!!

178.4 (Yikes!)

B 43 1/2  (up from 42)

W 39 (well at least that's down 1/2")

H 47!! ( up from 45)

Seriously? I know I had a bad weekend, but I've been genuinely committed to calorie counting and  exercise, for a solid 3 weeks, and this is what I get to show for it? I'm about to dive into a huge ice cream sundae if the results are going to be the same!Yell Seriously! Can anyone save me from a nose dive off of the wagon!?

Is it too late for me to join??  I am between 5'6 and 5'7 which would be 5'6 and a half...haha!

And my weight has fluctuationed between 168-172 this week, Do I meet the requirements?

Anyway - if I could join this group I will give my measurements Monday - as I haven't taken them in months... Oh yeah I've started my journey at 233 lbs, and my goal weight is 145-150ish....

Gets down on hands and knees - begging to join group...

Please....

Congrats on your terrific weightloss jess...no need to beg. If I'm welcome here all are welcome! The more the merrier as they say.

Good Morning Ladies, I will be weighing in on Monday, since that is when we weigh in at work, every Monday... so therefore, I will post my numbers then =( Hopefully they will be good)

Ladies, do not get discouraged! remember change does not happen overnight! It takes time! You can not expect to lose weight in a week of dieting...  Be patient, trust me Ladies once it comes off, the feeling is amazing! To hear people tell you, you look like you lost weight, as opposed to, "wow your getting chunky" feels so great!

If you are not losing try cutting back on some calories... eat foods that are low in calories, I find Caramel Rice cakes to be great tasting, and only 50 cals. Do not drink any juices... Only drink water... if you knew how many calories you drop by not drinking juices, you would never drink juice again! Stay away from soda even if its diet and zero calories, because it still has some sort of sugar! Hmm... what else... I am trying to think of the things I have done...

My problem with losing weight is that I am a very picky eater, and I do not like fruits or vegetables, so it is even harder to lose weight, therefore I have discovered Gerber Baby Food!!!! I know it sounds stupid... but hey it worked for me... Fruits are great for diets, and baby food is easier for me to eat...

Anyhow, those are some tips... I hope they help some of you!

Good Luck Ladies,

Stay Focused!

I'M BACK!!
After almost 2 weeks of not caring what I eat, and not coming on here to log my calories, AND not exercising one bit, I'm back. I'm going to try so hard to stay on track this time, because I am going on a little vacation Aug. 21st and I can't be fat and jiggly ;(   Yes, I know that's only 4 weeks away but if I could lose almost 10lbs I would be satisfied.
I have lost 4lbs the last 5days without doing a thing!! How weird is that? Probably water weight though....

I was here before, but since i haven't been to weigh-in for 2 weeks Frown here we go again:

I'm 5'6'', currently 164-168ish, 23yo, I don't exercise lol

SW: 173

CW: 164

GW: 145

Total loss: 9lbs

I am going to take measurements if I can find the tape.......

Congrats to everyone!!

Hey that is a great idea!! And baby foods are all natural ! I'm going to have to try that one, I too am a picky eater, I don't eat beans, peas, and there are lots of different veggies that I can't stand (thank goodness for lettuce!) so I try to compensate with more fruits.

Thanks for the "chin up" Bella. I'm trying very hard not to be too much of a whiner, truly I am (too late?) I do most of the things that you have suggested already . And I really enjoy fruits and vegetables...veggies more than fruit. I don't really during enough fluids though. My discouragement is in the time frame though...I didn't expect to loose 15, 10, or even 5 lbs...but I was hoping for a lb or two in the last 2-3 weeksCry Thanks again for the support though...it really does help, and I didn't jump into that sundae (just yetWink).

Hi everyone!

My weight this week is 165.4 pounds

Its only down .4 pounds from last week but I have to admit that I had a bad weekend and ended up gaining 2 pounds of water weight from that.

There has been a slight loss in inches (and I am proud of that) But not enough to report at this time.

Keep up the good work!

Hello All!!  I'm clocking in this week with neither a gain nor a loss....still at 173.2.  I was expecting it since I was way bad last weekend.

Hey Jess!!!  SmileSmileSmile

Armywife-no diving into Sundeas for you!!!  Maybe TOM is coming?  Undecided

Congrats to all who have lost this week! I am at 166.5 today, which is a gain. I had a horrible weekend and was up to 169.5 two days ago!!!!Obviously it was water weight and it is coming off. I will not be falling off the wagon this weekend, so maybe I'll weigh in on Monday with bellaeliza17.

jess1979, welcome, and congrats on the weight you have lost so far.

armywife22, if you had a bad weekend then you may have gained water weight. up your water intake for the next few days and weigh again. that is where I am at right now, so I am feelin ya. if still no difference, try upping your exercise. your calorie intake is fine, you probably shouldn't go any lower than that, but I was only walking for exercise at first and it didn't make too much of a difference. try adding some jogging in or bike riding or at least find some big hills to walk.

good luck to all for next week and keep an eye out for a new post...this one's gettin lengthy....if I do make a new post, I will put a link in this one.

Hi

I really need to join a support group

I'M 5'6 ish and 186 pounds. I also have hypertension so it's loose weight or like die and that doesn't sound so good to me.

Anyhow please help me with tips on how to get  more motivate. I've lost around 20 lbs, but then kinda fell off the wagon.  I obviously need to loose way more but don;t know how to keep up.

please post any tips or recommendations

Thanks!

well I'll tell ya kilijo..I'm in a similar boat to you...no hypertension, but I do have high cholesterol. My health is a big motivator for me, for me and for my kids...I want to help my DD pick a wedding dress someday. Food wise, looking at things from a nutrition stand point and again focusing on health helps me  a lot (except for today of course)Wink hang in there...this is a pretty good support group.

Thanks for the support ladies. and I was thinking TOM may well be on "his" way...I wish that bugger made his visits a little less intrusive!! LOL

I posted a loss of 1/2 pound on Friday when I weighed in, so I'm now down to 169.  But does anyone have a funky scale where, depending on where you stand on the scale, it weighs you differently???  (Like leaning forward, I'm 1-2 pounds heavier and leaning backward I'm 1-2 pounds lighter)  Ugh!!!  I just want an accurate, consistent reading!!!

yeah, my scale is completely unpredictable. bout to throw it in the lake.

I have had scale problems in the past..sometimes it even depends on where it sit on the floor (soft spots?) any way...I have weighed myself 2-3 times and taken an average if I find that I'm having real scale trouble. I currently have a new scale, and as long as I stand fairly evenly on the weighing surface, it appears pretty consistent.

I like the idea of doing measurements too... I know a trainer I had gave me a print out of where (close) I started at... would be nice to compare.

I think I fit in this group, I'm 5'6+ and yesterday weighed in at 168.6 need to dig out the measuring tape though!

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone has had a great week and positive progress...even if you havent, it will come in time for sure! Keep it up ladies!

Today I am weighing in at 167.6

I bought a weight scale from Curves and it stores my starting weight, shows me my goal weight (that Ive manually entered as 130 lbs) and then I weigh myself and it displays how many pounds I've lost or gained.

Well I believe it was June 22 I weighed in at 175.6. So whether that weight loss is water, muscle tissue, bowel movements or food....I will except it as a definate loss.

Have a great weekend everyone!

165 today. was 164 a couple days ago and I haven't cheated, but whatever. hey -- I was 170 last week ---- seriously cheated to get to there though. Keep up the good work, guys!! Everyone is doing great!!

naturallyd:

Hey no worries about that extra pound. I will tell you right now that its not weight gain from fat. You could have drank a kilo of water. One kilo equals 2.2 POUNDS. So you drink a kilo of water, you gain 2.2 lbs....You piss it out...you lose 2.2 lbs.

That extra pound could even be a pound of bowel movement. Ive been weighing myself everyday now just for my own record to see it for myself.

This is the trend thus far,

26-Jul-08 12:00 PM 168.0

27-Jul-08 10:45 AM 168.8

28-Jul-08 6:35 AM 169.2

29-Jul-08 6:30 AM 169.0

30-Jul-08 6:00 AM 168.8

31-Jul-08 6:00 AM 168.6

1-Aug-08 6:00 AM 167.2

honestly? I gained a pound or two then lost , and chances are I will gain more this week since Im training 4 times a week with a trainer. Whether its lean tissue, water, poop, whatever!

I say, GOOD JOB on the FIVE pounds YOU DID LOSE........oh and go take a pee Wink
