Do you weigh more than you 'look'?? I do.

I've ALWAYS weighed more than I look.  Even as a hot 17 year old - I was 170lbs!  And I was merely out of shape-ish at that time.  Yes, I've a 'large frame'.  I mean my wrist bones are like 8inches around.  I kid you not.  (That Viking heritage, remember????)  Anyways - it's still frustrating.  I feel so ashamed of my 'number' all the time.  On Biggest Loser 1 for example.  Kelly - she weighed less than me when she started, but she looked MUCH bigger.  Both Kelly's, actually.  One of my best friends has SO much more fat and bulk than I, yet she can wear size 14 and I can't get into 18????  I see it time and time again.  Anyone else have this issue?  Does it mess with your mind?  AND SHOPPING!?

I'm not sure if I look heavier or lighter than I am, but I know I don't carry my weight in all the best places (though how many heavy people do). I think I'm apple shaped, and my belly kind of sticks out. Before when the weight slowly crept up on me (I'm 5'2" and 160 currently) I actually got a pregnancy test cuz I thought it was possible I might be pregnant lol. I just never experienced such a weight gain before. I had my thyroid tested recently and it is fine. But it's annoying the way I carry my weight, a couple people have asked me if I'm pregnant, whereas other woman bigger than me would not be asked that.

Viking heritage? Where are you from?

same here - Im 5'8" and currently plateauing at 165.

Most are shocked when I say I weigh that much - they say "No F-ing way! You look 130 tops"

YES it totally messes with my head! I get all pissed off trying on clothes coz the people helping me always grab smaller sizes and they NEVER fit - lol! Im all like "Uh, I need a large or extra large" and they always say the same damn thing - "Well try this one first"... ahhhh... annoying...

I honestly can't tell, [although I mostly think I look A LOT fatter & heavier than what I weigh]
No one has ever told me what they think I weigh, mainly because of my eating disorder history :/

I'm 5'1, around 108-ish lbs and wear size 6-8 in Australian sizes
how does my size compare to my height & weight? I don't know

[oh and just to make it clear, I'm not trying to lose weight. I just spent several months trying to gain weight, and I wouldn't want to waste all that effort. I just stumbled across this thread by accident and thought it would be interesting.]

My weight is 190 I am 5'10. However, most people believe I am around 155. Its so funny. Many of my friends and past loves have all been astonished by my weight. I look to be a lot smaller than I actually am. Although I have very broad shoulders and very long thick legs(36 inch inseam).

I always think I dont look as heavy as I actually am. Im around 165 just now but my friend thought I was about 14 lbs lighter, I never tell people I know my weight.

Lol! That sounds awesome to me, I pick up a size 10 dress and the lady is normally like, maybe you should try a 12... Haha

Okay! well listen to this. I'm 5-3 almost 5-4 and weight 197 pounds. I wear in 12-14 depending on brand. I recently lost 12 pounds and just the other day bought a pair size 31 Joe's jeans? no mufin top, if that's what your thinking! LOL!!!  Most people guess my weight around 170-175. Why? Even at my heaviest 209 pounds no one would ever guess my weight! I have never really thought of myself as big, i like to say chunky! Friends and family always say you look good. I don't understand. I'm curvy and have a large chest nice shaped toned legs, I don't get it. No extra large bulges in the mid section? Why do I weight so much????

Well, I don't really know if that is happening with me or has happened (people to over or under estimate my weight) but I have found my self a few times wondering about if some people haven't weight themselves for long time and they have lost weight in meanwhile or if they're lying when they say a lot less than I had guessed.  After all these replies to this post some people really look a lot bigger or smaller than they say.  I kind of feel bad now that I blamed (secretly) some of those that they didn't want to say their real weight.   At least I know now....!  Thanks.

i definitely do.  at 5'5" and 180 pounds, most people guess me to be about 150-160.  i'm going to post a picture of me up in a european size 14 dress (probably american size 12?) - i don't look like a 14 at all, and i think it's because of my proportions.  having said that, i'd been using this as an excuse for way too long, so now i've finally decided to be proactive and get off my butt - 180 is practically pushing 200, and that's just unhealthy for my height!

I think its the opposite way around! I look more than i weigh. Either that or the people at my school are blind.

OMG yes! when I finialy get brave enought to tell someone I weight 230 their like :O no way you don't look like you weigh that much. A lot of people say they wouldn't even guess me to be 200. Even when I first weigh in at a dr's office the set the weight at like 175 and soon find that nope I'm more than that. I'm 22yr's old, female with a medium frame.
