I?m 14 and weigh 130 lbs
Last year I weighed 110 lbs
Two years ago I weighed 132 lbs
I lost the weight by not eating (unhealthy) and exercising out of control (unhealthy)
Now I need to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks
I?m going to go on a fast
I don?t care if I gain it back, but I need to lose it by 2 weeks time for something special
My question and the point of this topic :

i am a 15 year old girl and i am recovering from an eating disorder,
for the past 3 years i've been eating rarely over 1000 calories a day but it was really hard for me to lose weight ever,
i couldn't lose weight because my body was in starvation mode and wouldn't let me lose weight,
if you starve yourself for 2 weeks (and that's what you're implying here), you are definatly going to drive yourself into starvation mode,
in turn, your body will hold onto the fat that you have and you will begin to lose muscle and organ tissue,
besides from it looking bad when people have no muscle and only fat, if you lose muscle your metabolism is going to slow wayyyyy down and then you will have to eat next to nothing just to maintain your weight, and once you start eating normally again you are going to gain that weight back,
it's going to be sooooo bad for your health,
which i know you may not even care about right now,
but let's put it this way - if you starve yourself for 2 weeks it's going to be bad for your weight loss because your body is not going to be wanting to burn fat .
losing 20 pounds in 2 weeks is in no way good for you and it's going to end up biting you in the butt,
you need to lose this weight slowly and make sure you don't go under 1200 calories per day,
i advise you to do cardio in the morning so that you're burning fat that's being stored in your body, which is what you want .
you really really do not want to be starving yourself for 2 weeks it's going to screw up your system and you're going to have to pay for it hardcore .

I can't exercise in my house because of my mother
And I am often VERY depressed to I go and eat, since I have nothing better to do. No friends. My mom cut me off from them last year.
So, this is my question: Can I eat 1200 a day and lose weight?
We don't have lots of veggies or fruits in the house...so it'd mainly be coming from junk. But hey, it's all I got.

If you eat 1200-1500 and have an expenditure (over and above what you burn just by breathing/sleeping, etc) of 500, you'll loose weight.
You need those fruits and vegetables and that's very unfortunate about the friends. Working on that may be more important than loosing weight. You need to get out with your friends.

Impossible. I do think it's possible to drop a quick 5 to 10 for a special occassion but it's totally temporary, mostly water weight. Now why would a person want to drop 20 pounds so quickly? That's rather poor planning on your part. Why didn't you start this sooner?
Can't because of my mom, strict disciplinarian and waaay overprotective...why do you think she's homeschooling me?
It's not like I'm a bad kid or anything, I've never even gone to public school in my whole life...

I always thought that was a stereotype of homeschooling: very christian and "spare the rod and spoil the child mentality." Guess not? Ugh, I'm so sorry. I bet the first chance you get you'll rebel, majorly, right? Good for you! (don't tell your mom I said that :)) Everyone needs that, I don't care what anyone says.
At 14 I was probably the same height as you. Weight wise I would guess (again) between 127 and 135, though I don't know. I was hugely involved in athletics and never thought about how much I weighed or about food in general be/c I was really active.
I didn't gain weight until I went on the pill when I was 19. I lost it when I realized that I couldn't eat whatever I wanted. Now, at 25, I'm 5'3" + 3/4" and I weight, on average 127-135 (so not much has changed!)
At 14, you still have the opportunity to grow. Eating enough (and you need more than 1200cals a day at your age) in order to grow is worth it! I do anything to be taller.
Work on your mother re: friends, that's really important at your age. I guess she'd never let you go to high school?

haha no. I'm a freshman. its not normally the stereotype for homeschoolers, most get kicked OUT of school.

I think homeschooling CAN work, but it DOES seem like a lot of people that were kept home ended up MAJORLY rebelling and I can only IMAGINE the problems this causes later on in life. :(

There are many "crash" diets out there ("cabbage soup diet," etc.). You could Google it, I suppose. Really though, your mom would probably figure it out wouldn't she? Cause you'll need certain foods for those crash diets ... You can always get one of those girdle things they have out now. They're pretty great from what I've seen on TV. VERY slimming -- they make people look a size or two smaller! That would probably be much easier! Actually, I think it's a great idea. Then again, that costs money too ...

That is TERRIBLE if she won't let you exercise! EVERYBODY NEEDS to exercise. These parents -- tsk tsk. They are just LOOKING for trouble with all this "strictness"!!! Gee, you might as well be in JAIL!

Even then I only bike up and down. It's really boring.
My mother thinks I am too young to be exercising to something like cardio. I did Gilad (anybody know him?) last year, every day, that's how I lost the weight.
She purposely sabatoges my diets. She will buy my favorite junk foods and on the rare occasions where I have enough willpower to not eat them all day (not eat anything, actually) she'll force me to eat.
She wants me to "exercise" by doing Pilates everyday while she watches my every move. nuhuh. I'd rather be fat.
On the subject of exercise...to all the girls out there...where are your hips? Mine are the funkiest things youve ever seen. They stop midway. I don't know if that's because of puberty or what.
What can I do to make them smaller? Or get a little more fat so it's a nice curve?

Where she's from they weren't allowed to talk to boys. If they did they'd get a serious whooping. She attended an allgirls school. She was in a STRICT catholic family that prayed hours a day.
I'm gonna stop talking now or else I'll start crying. Really. My mother is such a hypocrite. She had tons of brothers and played with them all the time. She was skinny as hell, literally, anorexic. But healthy at the same time. She was always outside playing. I mean, ugh! Sorry, really getting off topic here

hi i was jus reading your posts and i feel really bad for you when i was 14 now 23 i could do anything i wanted my parents didnt really care and i wanted them to care so much maby your mum is jus trying to keep you from going down the wrong road. maby she doesnt want you mixing with lads because of alll the stuff you hear about teenage pregnances i no she does seem to be way over protective but you wont be there forever. go online and look for some excersize plans if you cant get hold of any fittness mags. i suggest you try and lose what you need to slowly i found that if you try to lose too much too quick you jus put it all back on as soon as you start eating properly i am 5ft 3in and weigh 147 im trying to reach 120 by the end of july i have tryed lots of diets and none worked this seems to be working though. i have only been a member since 7th jan and already lost 2 pounds good luck to you anyway

Your mother is worried about you and with good reason. You have unrealistic ideas about weight and eating. If you went from 130 to 110 in year she has good reason to worry.
Please don't fast. You are a growing child. You need nourishement to continue to grow and develop. You could damage your growing body permanently.
Try to have a conversation with your mother. Ask for her help and ask her to make an appointment with your pediatrician to discuss appropriate diet and exercise for a girl your age.

Dropping weight for a "special occasion" in 2 weeks is totally unhealthy and unrealistic. The damage you cause your body by doing that will take much much longer to undo. So while you may lose some of the weight, you will suffer in the long run.
So lets see.. You can't exercise because your mom won't let you. You can't control your calorie intake because you say your mom force feeds you food.
Why are there no veggies and only junk in the house? I know this may be getting personal, but what about talking to your dad, to an aunt, uncle, someone else? This is a very unhealthy way to live which will lead to depression. Might want to get a social worker involved.

I'm also wondering if you're being totally honest here...if she's that protective, how can you be on the internet chatting with us on CC? I think I would rather have my child read a magazine (which you say you aren't allowed to do) than be on the internet.
