Should I weigh what I did at 18?

I had a BMI of 19 until I was 20. Now my BMI is almost 22 at age 25. I’d love to get back down to where I was in high school and early college. I only gained weight through binging, but now it seems to stick no matter what.
Answer
Whether someone should weigh what they did at age 18 depends on how much they weighed. BMI should not increase dramatically with age; everyone should maintain BMI within the healthy weight range, 19 – 24.9. Your “ideal weight” depends on your frame size and amount of muscle you carry. Since at age 18, your weight was low, you gravitated to q weight that is easier to maintain. However, binge eating is caused, in part, by keeping calorie intake low to maintain an unrealistically low weight. To prevent further weight gain, seek to maintain BMI at 21 or 22 over the years by eating healthy and exercising for 30 minutes or more every day.
