weigh-in week 11/08/09

Quote  |  Reply

Well I've been real busy this week. My #'s aren't that great.Frown  I'm still not loosing like I was. I'm much more active, and am logging everything I eat and staying under 1600 calories. CC says my BMR is 2150  plus I bicycle 20 mi. in 90 minutes on top of that (789calories) every day. So that's a total of 2939-1600=1339 deficit . I'm also getting up earlier and going to bed later. My insomnia is less of a problem. I'm actually sleeping better now than I have for some time. So I don't know what's going on.

But I'll keep plugging along. At least I'm not gaining!Smile

Thanks everyone for the great motivation. This site has helped me so much in my weightloss journey that I think this time I will finally be able to loose this weight

starting weight: 244 (08/29/09)

LW: 226

CW: 220

Mini Goal: 204 by 12/31/09 (will be a milestone on the bmi obesity scale going from Severely obese to obese.

Ultimate goal: 240 by 10/17/11

I did a lot better this week,  the 266 was a post binge, prepeoriod weight hence the major scale dropping today.

I am sooooo close to getting out of the 220's I've been in this weight decade for a little over a month and it's driving me crazy. I promised myself a pedicure once I get there.  I'm looking forward to doing yoga and looking down and seeing pretty toenails.

Genowg: I agree with LLuva, I bet you're gaining a bunch of muscle with all that exercise, and you said you were feeling really good too!  If this is a battle toward health it looks like you're winning the battle :).

Lluva: great job on 2 lbs!

Sammariebob:  Keep your chin up,  like Genowg you may be gaining muscle.  I recommend both measuring and taking pictures.  I took my "before" photos and measurements in September.  From Sept 10 to Oct 10 I lost 8 lbs, but man the difference in the the pictures is really amazing. It's definitely helped to keep me motivated.

Brucekeeping: Wow 5 lbs,  that's fantastic,  getting closer to your goal!

Kimcheefondue:  You rock with your 2lbs this week and you've lost what,  69 lbs so far,  that's amazing!

Southernknitter: Welcome!

Viraoracle:  I think it's great that you're being honest with yourself about your efforts and hey, at least your not gaining.  Maybe think of something little you can change this week and make little changes a week at a time rather than a big change.

MJhicks 1781: Great job on 4 lbs lost.

Liabelle:  I agree with you, march is a much healthier goal to set.   It takes a while keep pushing :).

lovemytulip:  Wow 6 lbs, is it that time of month by any chance?  I was up to 226 last week while my friend was visiting and today I'm back down to 220.   That could explain it,  or maybe the stuff you were eating is really high in sodium and you're retaining water.  Keep plugging, you'll get there.

Hrtlvr333:  Wow you've lost 82 lbs!  That is impressive, looks like your right on target for meeting your mini goal.

I have not counted calories or gone to the gym for a couple of weeks. I am hopefully back on track now about my few weeks off. I am going to put them behind me and start again. I have already gone to the gym today so thats a good start.

mini goal. 30lbs by Christmas. I have 15 to go.

lovemytulip;

I'm not sure what's going on. But I can assure you it's not because you put on 6lbs. of fat in that amount of time. You would have had to eat an extra 21,000 calories to do that. (3500X6) I bet it has something to do with water retention. There are all kinds of reasons that your body retains water from time to time. Especially for women. I have had my own weight fluctuate by as much as 7lbs. in the course of a day.

I bet your #'s next week will be better.Smile

Way to go George!!!!!!

SW 221.5

LW 209.5

CW 207 (the scale wanted to say 206.5 but, alas, it wouldn't stay)

mini goal: 205.5 (99.5 lbs total to lose!)

2nd mini goal 199.5 = lunch for myself at Souper Salads

eventual goal 106lbs/17ish% body fat

Realistically after hormone time, I lost .5 - which makes sense cause I kept having like 400 cal deficits a day and slacked on gym for above referenced "time".

Back on it :)

Grats to all and those climbing back on the horse - stick with it :)

Mini-goal: was 230, now it's 199. I cannot wait to get into the 100s!

Ultra goal: 160

I had a good week, not sure why! I am a little sick but have been eating as usual, exercising as much as I can. If things keep going this well I hope to get below 200 in 3 months, but we'll see!

sourmena;

Great job!

Very respectable #. I'm sure you will make it in three months. Then you will be in one-derland!

Congrats!

Thanks Peaceapple and Genowg for replying and encouraging me.  I really needed that.  Genowg it was particularly good to know that water retention can cause as much as a 7 pound gain.  Who knew?  I know it's nothing I did. Today I did an exact calorie count and did not even let the tiniest morsel in without reporting to me!  1229.  I also started back to doing my weights, for my upper body, and that feels good.  I have leg strenghtening exercises to do daily so that eventually my injuries will heal. Can't wait to get back to my programme at the Y, even if it will still be some weeks.

thanks peaceapple for the encouraging words GL to you alsoLaughing

Didn't post last week, because the number stayed exactly the same as the week before, but here goes:

I guess all in all it is going down

sourmena and sunnim!

What great weeks!  Congrats to you both.

I am kinda hoping water is my issue too.  I am so trying to keep the salt out of my diet but I am failing miserably.  I am on the run too much and I know me, I can't eat salad every day.

I know the recommended total is 2400g but I end up in the 3900g range (at last look at my analysis).

Why is it I cannot find convenient quick food that is not loaded with salt?

Good thing I don't have high BP.

Well, sammarieob, tell us some common foods you eat often that have a bunch of sodium, and we can suggest replacements :)

liam, stick with it, and us, and we can get you back on track, you have still lost 35 lbs over all and thats fantastic.

Last weight, two weeks ago 294

CW 290

I had a little set back this week. I was sick last week, so I lost a lot and my body didn't like that so even though I stayed within my cals I gained 2.8. I am okay with that because I know it will come back off because I have been doing the right thing.

kdh1221-My issue is processed foods.  I like eating certain Healthy Choice meals for my work lunch cause I know I won't eat salad every day.  I take soup too to go with my salad (soup and salt just seem to go together).  Hell even my diet rootbeer, which I only have once in a while, has sodium.

I will say this, I looked at my sodium intake from when I started to now and I have reduced my intake by 300mg, so I suppose that is something.

I am going to make a concerted effort to drink more water.  I get in about 40oz a day now and then at night all I drink is my decaf tea (nothing in it, no lemon, no sugar, just the brown water as my kids call it).

I just cannot seem to get away from all the sodium....LOL

OK..i took another peek at the last 12 days or so of my food log, and my sodium is down another 300mg.

1st month-4000mg

2nd month-3680mg

Last 2 weeks-3360mg

So it's going down.  I am making better food choices too so perhaps I am worrying about nothing, except that i should be at 2400mg or less...LOL

After almost three weeks of not losing any, I've finally broken through. I added 500 calories to my diet and have decided to go dancing for an hour or so a week.
