Aww hun - have a hug! ![]()
I am no expert, but I think you might need to have a good look at what you are doing, eating and drinking as well as your calorie intake and expenditure.
Sounds obvious I know, but I notice on those weeks where I increase the water I drink, I actually lose more. So maybe looking at the small things like that will help.
I also have friends that bloat and don't lose weight if they eat pasta or bread.
Have a good look and see - sorry I'm not more help but I am here!
I'm also sure someone more knowledgeable than me will be along soon! ![]()
Please dont feel dis-heartened!
I know exactly what your going through, I did the same thing last week, I worked my ass off for 2 weeks and lost....2 pounds and it sucks I know but I found that once you've broken the barrier you'll lose it faster; for some reason between last friday and this friday I lost 3 pounds.
It'll happen for you too trust me, your obviously doing something right or you wouldnt have lost anything at all. Stick with it and you'll feel so much better when you weigh yourself next week and your a skinny-mini!
Good Luck, keep up the good work

I feel for you.... Im no expert and im the same. Im at this almost 4 weeks & 6lb is all ive lost. Ive always lost that in the first week in WW. so yeas was totally disheartened. But.................... Ive learnt loads with regards how weight works. Yes I know that sounds ridiculous but at 32 yrs of age i hadnt a clue that you need to burn off more than you eat ! Yes I know ridiculous thing to say but I simply thought if you starved yourself you lost weight.. Eh NO !
!st thing.... drink loads of water. Not drinking it retains it as well as all the salt in your system. The more you drink the more you flush out. So extra weight in you can actually be from water retention. I was advised this last week when i was having a moan & was ready to throw in the towel. I put on 3lb - I wasnt drinking any water.... so once im back drinking it im back down 2lbs.
Hormones - these effect everything - the week before your period is due will play havoc .. hence why i am up 3 & only down 2... next week will be a bonus.. lol
These 6 lb ive lost i know are not going back on..... as they have been lost once & for all properly & not on some starvation diet where 1 big mac would put them straight back on.
Join in some of the challenges. Im doing one - walk 100 miles in september. In this i also took on a push up & plank challenge. So by end of month ill have done 1000 push up & planks as well as walked 100 miles - which is more than I would have done if I wasnt in CC.
Energy - ive noticed i have so much more energy - the more energy I have the more i want to exercise more - even if it is only 15 minutes on the Wii lol.
Dont give up just yet - you have 2 lb down. Think of the next 2lb. Set another goal for yourself. & remember the slower you lose it the longer it will take to put ( if ever) back on.
Good luck & chin up. x jen
Reality check....
2lbs is 4 packs of butter.... A bag of flour..... it's not to be sniffed at, really. If you lost 1lb a week for a year you'd be 52lbs lighter. You say yourself you've had a few wobbles in the last two weeks but overcome them.... even if it means the weight-loss is a little slower as a result, the fact that you've overcome them is an acheivement.
You're taking regular exercise and you're eating better. All you have to do now is to take this scale reading as your motivation, make sure you're on the right calorie intake for your age, size and activity level and be as consistent as possible going forward. This isn't a sprint, it's a marathon.

Thats so shocking & i never looked at it like that - 4 packs of butter - Holy crap !!! thats an awful lotta butter ........................ lol
Do a google image search for 1lb of fat :)
2lbs in 2 weeks isn't so bad....when I'm losing well I lose around 1 - 1 and a half lbs a week. Also I am one of those who prefers to weigh daily, with fluctuations to consider if I only weighed once a week or once a fortnight and I happened to land on a bad fluctuation day then that would be disheartening for me.
A loss is a loss! Give yourself a pat on the back, your heading in the right direction!
I feel your pain. What i have found is that when I get that little of weight loss I have not really been being as "good" as I thought (I'm not saying this is the case with you) but you really have to count calories. I've gone back through what I ate in a day when I thought I was "good" and found that I actually ate 2000 calories. That makes all the difference.....
THIS IS WHAT 1LB OF FAT LOOKS LIKE!!!! ![]()

OK thank you ALL!!!
Ive had a slight reality check and thought there MUST be a reason for this small amount etc.
So......I went bk through my journal, addedd up every days kcals, worked out my maintenance over those days, subtracted what id eaten and divided this by 3500 and GUESS WHAT!!! lol what a freakin revelation........im ALOT happier :0)
It went like this ...
Maintenance - 552500kcals
Eaten - 46245kcals
Deficit - 9005kcals = 2.5lbs
Therefore thats equals 2.5lbs and guess what i lost 2lbs....(the scale was flashing between 13.1 and 13.2 so im guessing 2.5lbs is spot on)
I am fine with it now, i know that it's because of what ive eaten, so those 'few' 'bad' days have actuall been more frequent and bigger than i remembered and they are the reason i have not lost any more!
Yes my lifestyles a million better and yes ive learned so much and also this is me now, i cant imagine 'going back' i dont feel like theres anything to go back to...this is it!
So in that respect these measly 2lbs arnt gonna go bk on are they lol.
Now i can see that this result is down to my actions and not unexplained i am fine with it.
I always said baby step because i wanted to focus on permanent lifestyle changes so the 'diet' as such wud have to be subsequent to learning new habits.
Anyway goin forward i now realise that not only do 'bad' days cause a hugh influx of kcals but they also increase my apetite for the following days and leave me feeling sluggish and bloated....all in all not worth doing any more frequent than once a month, maybe even less. for an occasion not just because i fancy it!
So theres one major lesson learned.
Also i see that alcohol has a massive effect mainly because my 'bad' days have been due to having consumed far far too much alcohol. So i will now endeavour to consume an average and/or more reasonable amount and a lot less regularly. I also realise that there are healthier versions of salty foods other than chinese takeaways, pizza and crisps lol.
Another major lesson.
So i need to back up take those 2 lovely lbs for what they are...a result of my learning and not a result of failure and be proud and happy and go forward.
At least this way im slowly saying goodbye to the old me....and this way it is alot less likely to return.
Im goin to weigh again in a fortnight (im still conscious of not becoming obsessed with the numbers again) fortnightly is plenty i think.
thank you very very much!!! xxx
I'm so jelous, I'f i had lost a whole pound every weeks since I'd joined I'd be 36lbs lighter rather than 18! Actually that would be very thin indeed.
Well done. A healthier lifestyle - like any new skill - is something you learn as you go along. Fixing bad habits like drinking too much means first accepting it's a bad habit (and you'd be amazed how many people get stuck at that little hurdle) .... and then making the changes.
You'll slip back at times and you'll find yourself repeating mistakes in spite of your best intentions. That's just part of being a fallible human being - the perfect person has yet to be discovered. But as long as you're consistent and the trend line keeps going down rather than up, you're winning.
Hey, that's just the way it works sometimes. you said yourself you had a couple crappy days, but who cares? I think it's important to take it easy once in a while.
You're losing about 4lbs a month and that's what my average was. If I gave up because I didn't like how long it took, I wouldn't be 25+ pounds lighter 9months later.
Hang in there and remember: Workout and bust a sweat, weigh/measure your food/be realistic.
A pound or so per Week reduction? AWESOME! Keep it up!
Proper Nutrition + calorie intake + real exercise output + water intake = real weight loss....it definitely is NOT enough to do only 1 or 2 of the four. Don't forget that water loss at the beginning of a change in your lifestyle can be fairly significant....after a few weeks those rapid weight gains diminish as you 'try' to burn off fat.
Just lost 28 pounds in 8 weeks...1500 calories per day mostly fresh fruit and vegetables....a ton of water (mixed with Lipton's green tea to go, wonderful stuff!).....and brisk 1 hour work in the AM. No sugar, No salt, skim milk, no cremora, no alcohol, no fats in the salad dressing, low fat (not no fat) foods.....
Went to Paris France for a week (restaurant food can be so oily, salty, and fromage (cheese) is everywhere....)....walked everywhere....lost 3 pounds...now THAT'S a vacation.
No one ever got fat eating humungous tossed salads with balsamic vinegarette dressing and skinless chicken breasts washed down with a gallon a day of fresh water....
Keep up the good work!!!
