i've decided NOT to weight myself while i gain weight. good idea? or should i have somewhat of an idea of how i'm doing? sometimes i FEEL like i gain more than i actually did, so the number HELPS. but i think more often than not the number wold only hurt me.

you could ask someone (parent, family member etc) to 'blind weigh' you - where you get on the scale and they write down the number but don't tell you - just to make sure you are gaining at a healthy pace?

Fayxo has a good suggestion. I don't like to weigh/know my weight while in recovery. Seeing the numbers go up on the scales triggers me. I don't now what it is for me it was always predominately the numbers I hate and the lower the better. Yet I'm happy with how I look even at a normal bmi.

I don't know, see what others say and work out what would be best for you? luck!

I was blind weighed on request for about six months when I was in the adolescent services of my clinic. I found it very helpful - in fact, I got up to a much better weight than I'm at now without even realising. It was only once I started being told my weight again (upon the insistance of the adult services) that it dropped significantly and once again I got obsessed with numbers.

I'd say go for it! xxx

Being blind weighed is a good idea. I made the mistake of weighing myself this morning - the first time in a long time. And while the gain is barely non-existant (less than 3 pounds), I still crumpled to the floor and cried for over an hour, and XXXX (removed by moderators). I can only imagine what I would have done if the weight gain was significantly higher.

I suggest being blind weighed, or at least having someone there to support you if you decide that you do want to know the number.
