Weighing yoursef
How often do you weigh yourself? Is it better to weigh yourself everyday or every week? I find myself jumping on the scales every day but worry that maybe it's a bit obsessive. (I also get a bit down when there is no change or worse still when it goes up!)
Same goes for measuring. How often do you measure yourself?
it's probably best to weigh yourself once a week, same day same time, in the morning right after you wake up. you can measure at that time as well. obviously if your weight fluctuates during the day your measurements will as well (even if it is just a little).
much luck and love!
haha this one will get a ton of responses!
I weigh almost every day...but some hate doing that. For me, I do it because it's that little reminder to myself in teh morning to think about eating healthy and making sure I workout that day!
But on the other hand; people naturally fluctuate a lot, and it can get to be an obsession! And the scale takes a day or two to catch up to what you do to your body! haha
hmmmm I wonder where the line between monitoring and obsessing is.....
Once a week, same time, in the nude! I was weighing everyday and was obsessive and almost gave up... I flexuate alot.
I've read in both Weight Watchers and Woman's Health, that it is best to weigh yourself daily. Percentages tell them that you are more apt to stay on track weighing daily.
If I'm feeling anxious, I weigh myself daily. Otherwise, I weigh myself every other day or every week. It's just a little reminder for me to keep going, eat welll and exercise. (It's also really rewarding to see that number gradually decreasing on the scale, lol.)
I weigh myself every day, but I suggest once a week. Someday, I will take my own advice.
And I measure myself once a month. That seems to work just fine. :)
I once weighed myself daily as an experiment and concluded that the number each morning was almost random. The morning after I went out for a large italian meal (which I didn't enjoy because I was worried what the scales would say)... I was lighter. The morning after I exercised and ate salads... I was heavier. So I went back to weekly weighing and this seems to iron out some of the randomness.
Since I am close to my goal weight, I weigh every 2 weeks now. It's too frustrating when I don't see any movement downwards after only a few days. This way keeps me partially sane ![]()
~H~
I weigh in every week, but I sugguest weighing in everyday. It does make since (as long as your not the obbsessive type), that way you can see your flux and also see your progress easier.
I weigh myself every morning but I only record my weight once a week. I weigh everyday just to make sure the scale is going in the right direction. :) I take my measurements once every two weeks.
I don't have regular acces to a scale so if I'm lucky I get to weigh myself every two weeks. :/
I weight every day there have been studies that show people keep the weight off better this way as they realize they are gaining weight earlier then those that don't weight as often. But if you can't take the fluctuations then this wouldn't work for you....I know my body's typical fluctuations so it dosent bother me so much.
I weigh myself everyday as I tend to keep on track better. My weeks often vary alot in what I'm doing and I found when I tried weighing myself once a week I'd often lose track get disheartened and give up. However I still keep friday mornings as the official weigh in so if I go up a day or two I don't obsess as much.
I also think its the scientific part of me's way of making it into a mini-project with targets to meet.
I weigh myself every day as soon as i wake up.. I just like to keep track of whats happening to my weight.. Plus if it goes up I think, "today I must not overeat!" and it gives me motivation... I do a weekly weighing and measuring on a sunday, if i didnt do it daily and just weekly (which is what i used to do) I'd find myself going off track and not exercising or eating healthy so my daily weighing helps me stay on track.
i weigh myself once a week, daily is just to obsessive and innacurate. Theres to much of a fluctuation going on to do it everyday.
I weigh myself every saturday morning when i wake up after using the rest room. Thats when i consider myself "dry" so im hoping i get a more consistent reading. I used to weigh myself at the gym but by that time ive already eaten, i probably have a gallon of water circulating through me and havent used the rest room, sweat drenched clothes...i suggest using the same conditions when weighing yourself (no heavy clothes, do it at similar time of day, before eating/drinking...)
