I'm currently 60-61kg/131-133lbs, 179cm/nearly 6ft. 17yrs, female.

I used to slightly undereat, now I'm eatting at 1700 cals if I'm not being active. I don't know if I'm losing or maintaining, haven't weighed myself in a while.

I have a small frame.

To get to a healthy BMI of 20 (which is promoted on this forum) you would need to be about 150 lbs so that a gain of 17lbs

1700 calories is still undereating - by a lot. 1500 is the minimum recommended amount for weight loss, not weight maintenance; and for short sedentary teens to boot. You are neither and I would suspect you'd need more like 2300 - 2600 to maintain a healthy weight for your height.

To gain weight it's generally advised you start eating 2500 calories daily - however you may easily find you need more to gain.

you need to start eating more like meryl said the minimal to gain should be 2500. i bmi of 20 is a good base although you may need to be higher h x

Hi. You have a bmi of under 18 so you are underweight. Being young and so tall plus to gain you will need a lot. Most teens need more then that to just maintain. You said you used to undereat more and I am wondering if you have some ed issues and fears to gain? Do you get your period? I would encourage you to start increasing your calories. When I was on the increase we did every 2 days as it is easier on the mind and body. I agree you will need at least but probably more then 2500 to gain. Also this is not only about appearance as I know you posted that picture it is about health

No offense to anyone here BUT: I got to 120 and I'm 5'3 - and ppl (and as I look back at old pics i agree) used to say I looked anorexic! If I was a BMI of 20 I'd be 113! I'm not so sure that would look to hot on me!

Yes, there is a wide variety of natural body shapes. Take-home point: just because your BMI is healthy, doesn't mean your body is - some people just suit a higher BMI better.
