My weight dropped significantly, What Happened?!?
I was at 128.5 lbs. on...Well, Yesterday, and I woke up this morning and I was at my goal weight of 125 lbs.
I am 5'4", exercise 3 times a week for 40 minutes doing cardio, and 2 times a week doing yoga (started on Sunday of just last week) and I weigh (now) 125.
Could the weight of 128.5 been due to water retention?
and one last thing (may be a really stupid question) What is my actual weight now? 128.5 or 125?
Yeah, this is normal fluctuation due to water weight. This happens to me a lot. I will work out and not see anything for two weeks or so, then drop 3-4 lbs over night.
Just weigh again tomorrow and take it all with a grain of salt.
I weigh myself every day and don't consider reaching a set weight until I've weighed at or below that weight for 3 days in a row. Example - I would have to weigh in at or below 210 for 3 days in a row before I will say I weigh 210. Does that make sense? That's just my own personal rule because of how much weight can go up & down each day.
Women gain lots of weight through water retention 1-2 weeks before their period. Within the few days of your period you are losing all of this water. For me personally it was around 6 lb last "time".
Could that be one of the reasons in your case , Impartiallyvegan?
This is a very normal and frequent occurance for many people. Just yesterday morning I was 133.6# and this morning I was 130.4#. Now I will probably stay at 130# for the next 3-5 days before i see any loss.

I'm the same way. Nothing is official until day 3 (or 4). And I am that way toward gaining too, if I am 1 pounds heavier 3-4 days in a row then I will tell myself I gained.

Your 'actual weight' is whatever the scales say when you step on. It'll be higher in the evening, lower in the morning, higher after eating/drinking, lower after you've been to the loo, slightly different again the next day. So if you pick one weight and try to stay within 3lbs either side of it, that makes a lot more sense than aiming to be one specific number all the time.
Same thing happened to me....I lost 1.1 pounds in 2 days....and I ate a lot at a company picnic yesterday....
Of course, we will see if I am the same tomorrow...and if I can keep it up throughout the weekend
This reminds me of what my I told my weight loss Buddy once when she had a similar experience: You can't fake a low weight! It may be temporary, it may be because you were retaining water before, but your weight is what the scale reads it as... So hey, YAY for you! Goal weight! Awesomeness. Stop worrying and celebrate!!!
Also, an ask Mary awhile back talked about the "drop and stop" weight loss trend. That's how my weight loss has gone, so my weight log looks kinda like stairs. Its pretty normal.

Not sure I understand your issue, but dropping 3 pounds overnight is not at all unusual, and yes, it is most certainly due to water weight.
As far as what you weigh - it's whatever the scale says at the time. It's quite normal for weight to fluctuate every single day.
