When inputing foods on here, is the calorie count always after cooking? As things like rice and chicken I have tended to weigh prior to cooking. Then I read somewhere was after...... Thanks for any advice.
You input the cooked food if it's cooked and raw if it's raw. For example, if you were to do raw white long-grain rice, you would either take the grams and calories of Rice, White, Long-Grain, Regular raw. However, if you were to do long-grain rice cooked, you would use Rice, White, Long-grain, Regular, Cooked. I would personally use the raw values of everything, since you never know how much water the rice absorbed, or how much of the water the chicken cooked off, so the weight might be inaccurate for the cooked values.
Thanks....dont know why I hadnt seen that! I guess I didnt look below. I thought it would have raw then cooked at the top before the brands, but not always the case.
