hi... im new.  i am 27 recovering from an ed.  i am 98 lbs and 5'2''.  currently at 1000 cals a day.  nutritionist told me to raise it to 1800 a day to gain 1 lb a week... thats what im comfortable with.  i find it hard to believe i will not blow up.  anyone have experience and know?I went through this before i ended up becoming a binge eater and gaining 45 lbs in 6 months but i ate masssss cals every day in junk food. then i reverted back to anorexia and lost 55.  i eat very healthy now and every 2 hours.  but i need advice and math terms... numbers are my friend and enemy.  i cannot work out at all either.  any advice would be appreciated.  i do want to gain just slowly and not on junk food.  but on the correct calories.  thanks!

When I regained, I had to eat about 4000 calories. So, I'm sorry, but 1800 might not cut it, in fact it probably won't. I would recommend going up 300 calories per week or however long you feel comfortable with until you reach a calorie level that you feel/ your nutritionist feels is good for you.

Listen to your nutritionist rather than go by other people's experiences because she/he is tailoring this recovery process to your particular circumstances.   1800-2000 cals a day would be where many women could maintain their weight rather than gain.  So your nutritionist wants you to start gently but will probably ask you to raise it at some point.

Have you been given a food plan to work to or are you expected to work out the calories yourself?

um the 1800-2000 was for weight gain not maintaining....

i wasn't given any meal plan i was just asked to raise my cals.  i was wondering personal experiences of others and the calories they ate to gain a lb a week. without any physical activity as well.

Well, last year I started trying to increase, but I still havent gotten my calories to over 1500-1600.  But I really am trying.  I dont weigh myself often but I really havent gained at all and others tell me Ive lost weight.  I would say you should probably go for at least 2000 calories, or maybe even more.
