weight gain after indulging in 4 beers?

I know this might be a stupid thing to ask, but I was at a wedding dance last night and had about 5 beers.  Ate my regular (around) 1300 calories a day.  Is this going to set me back again?  Last time I had a night out and had a few beers it set me back a week.  UGH!  I wasn't about to give up food for the place of beer.  I don't do this very often...should I cut back today or just forget about it and move on?

i don't think one night of beer (mmmm, beer) will really have any effect, except for feeling bloated.  eat normally and healthily today.  on 1300 calories and 5 beers, i would have been pretty drunk, but i'm also pretty small. so no hungover junk food for you! have lots of vegetables and water.

600 calories of beer....this is like eating a small sundae at Culvers.....
Forget about it and move on!! Call it a maintenance day and don't worry.
I think the problem was last night when I came home, I had a piece of left over pizza that the kids had for supper with the babysitter.  Got the munchies after you had a few beers.  I logged everything.  Have been pretty good today...haven't pigged out on much.  Thanks...you guys are making me feel better and not so guilty.
Abandon all feelings of guilt and strip all moral associations from food and fat.

Otherwise the anxiety makes this lifestyle unsustainable.

Some days you won't eat as planned. It's no biggie and it doesn't mean you "ruined" anything or "broke" anything. You've made a permanent lifestyle change, to eat like a normal-weight person, and even normal-weight people overeat sometimes. Just not all the time. :)
I think I was feeling more guilty about the beer and not really the food I ate.  The food was good...all except for the darn piece of pizza I had to have right before bed.
Overeat, overdrink, same difference. It's still intake. :)
Oh Christ I pee out 5 beers like water. Don't worry!! I mean if you had five beers every single day, start to worry. One wedding? They are already flushed down the toilet.

I think if you will drink, go for light beer, red wine, or liquor with diet mixer. Can anyone confirm? I think enjoying alcohol is my biggest barrier to wieghtloss.

I think if you're going to go out to a special occasion you should drink what you want, in moderation.   If you're going to drink something you don't like so much, just because it is lower in calories, then you should probably just skip it completely ... I mean, what's the point?

I'm with trustwomen, log it and move on.  Laughing  Hope you had a good time!

Everybody has setbacks, move on. If you were drinking 3-4 beers everynight like me, then it will start to show.  I learned that alcohol prevents the liver from doing its job.  In other words, your body won't burn fat because it is processing alcohol. It also causes bloating and water weight. I would'nt worry about 1 night. Bill Phillips at Body

For LIfe gives people a free day to eat and drink anything they want in the quantities they want with0ut guilt 1 day a week.

yep...i had 5 beers on friday too.  it was an awesome time and totally worth it.  moving on...
You may already know this, but with the previous suggestion of having light beer instead- be careful- some light beer is in reference to the color of the brew, not cals., just a thought...
It was light beer:  Mich. Golden Draft Light...110 calories per can.  I rarely drink anything or even go out, so this was just an exception for me.  I just felt guilty having all those empty calories.  And the cream cheese mints, etc.  I had a good time, so I guess that's all that should matter, right?  I've moved on....I just have to keep hearing that its "okay".  Thanks, everyone!  :o)
Ok then, It's Ok.........
