Ok - the weight log shows the weight you enter and the "trend" of your entries, which appears to be an average.  So, does anyone go by the trend when they look at their weight loss?  Because I figure if that drops...then I have actually lost that?  Does that make any sense or am I just nutso??

Its not really an average of your weight loss.  Kinda is.

The best description I heard was that it is like the stock market.  A stock can have a price of $100.00 today.  Based on prior activities and prior paterns, the trend is that it will rise today.

Its not as simple as taking your various weights, suming them up, and dividing by the whole.

You basically should have your trend line always point down.

I don't know what you mean by "go by the trend line".  Your weight loss is actual numbers... ie the blue line.  The green trend line shows you in which direction you are generally headed.

Don't know if that helps
Yeah, the trend line is your "line of best fit". If you've been yo-yoing, but still "generally" losing weight, your trend line will be gradually falling. I'm not sure, though, if it takes into account your goal weight.

HAPPY FRIDAY!
line of best fit. perfect thanks
I only go by the trend.  It shows progress over time which, in my opinion, is the only thing that matters.
But my trend line is always higher than my actual weight...is that bad? I have read searched explanations and i'm still confused. It is still going down though...What does this mean?

I watch the blue line, and ignore my green line. (But that's just me!)

It is good if your trend line is above your weight. The more your weight is below the trend, the more that trend line is being dragged downward. It will always lag behind a bit, since you're trying to basically average out the numbers the scale gives, which can be affected by any number of factors.
You don't want that green trend line to get too close to your actual weight, or to flatten out... of course every now and then it will (when my weight bounced around for a week and ended up exactly where it started the trend line almost touched my actual weight because it caught up!) But ideally, your weight is going down steadily and pulling the trend line down after it. But any kind of down is good. :)
