How much weight could I loose by early February?
Alright.....My names Daria. I'm 5,7 around 210....(my scale sucks so I rounded up) I'm 20(21 in November) I work out every day for 1 hour, half hour on the tread mill half hour strength training floor exercises etc....I cut my food intake in like half over the past two weeks this is a guess because I'm not 100 percent sure yet but I'm guessing I eat around 1000-1500 calories a day I can already see changes mostly in my legs and waist. Anyways, I have a few questions how much weight could I loose in 5 months? How hard is it to make the flabby belly go away and what do you suggest for the lower abdomen? Because *sigh* I hate my belly, my upper arms, and my inner thighs, oh and the back fat LOL what things do you suggest to rid yourself of those problem areas? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thank You
I'm also 5'7" and just hit 209, but I'm quite a bit older than you at 48! Losing weight at a healthy, sustainable pace is going to be 1-2 pounds a week, although personally I will lose more than that the first week or two when I start watching calories. So in 5 months you could lose 20-40 pounds. Just be careful over the holidays to make sure they are a day here and there, not weeklong binges!
I'm by no means an expert as I still have a long ways to go, but I think I've finally hit a pace I can maintain. I eat around 1500 day, but I don't exercise much and have a older/slower metabolism. I'm currenlty dropping at a rate of about a pound a week.
If you are truly eating 1000-1500 calories a day, thats way too low. The first thing you need to do is use the "Burn Meter" tool to find out how many calories you burn every day. (I did a quick estimate with the data you provided at got about 2700 calories.) Thats how many calories you burn every day just by being alive and exercising. You should cut your calories to 500-1000 a day lower than your "burn rate" to lose weight at a healthy rate. If you go lower than that you will put your body into starvation mode, making it harder to lose weight, you'll lose muscle, and you will have a lack of energy.
The second thing you need to do is learn how many calories you are really eating. A month or two of recording everything you eat, including accurately measuring or weighing everything, is probably the most eye opening experience you will have. You'll learn stuff like 1 strawberry = 5 calories, 2 tablespoons of ranch dressing = 150 calories. If you don't learn what foods are high in calories and what foods to avoided or limit, then you're never going to be able to manage your weight.
A final thought. It has taken me 20ish years to realize its not a diet, it's a lifestyle. Everytime I go on a diet, I just go off it again and the weight goes back on my gut and butt. If I don't stick with eating healthy for the rest of my life, I 'm going to be fat the rest of my life. Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes!
Kudos on the exercise. Keep it up and adjust your eating and I know you'll do great!
you can lose up to 8-10lbs a month.
good luck and be safe dear!
