How much weight did you lose in January?

Sometimes I think shows like the Biggest Loser have created unrealistic expectations about losing weight. So I thought I'd start a thread to see what folks who actually have to work and cook their own food and live in the real world lost in January. I am also curious to know the average loss per month from folks who have lost consistently over the long term. Anyhow, for me:

SW (Jan. 5) : 205.4,

EW (ending weight): 200.8:

Total lost in January: 4.6.

 

SW: 190

EW: 182

Total for January is 8 pounds.  Hoping February is just as good!!!

So I lost 7lbs...which would be great except that I was 187 before Christmas and gained a lot over the holidays. I think a lot of the weight that came off was water weight.

Now I'm back on track, but the weight isn't coming off this week. I know it will eventually show on the scale, just have to keep eating right and keep moving.

Will be interesting to see what February brings.

I'm close to goal weight and losing every so slooooooowwwwwlllllly!

I started back up on...

Jan 14th - 128.5

Jan 31st - 126.5

Grand total of 2 lbs, and I'm perfectly okay with that.  I love watching Biggest Loser, but I don't have 6 hours to work out each day, nor someone to do all my food preparation for me :p

I'll tell you what though... when I'm in the middle of a workout and thinking of quitting because it's HARD work, then I think of those people on Biggest Loser, and it keeps me going.  If they can do it, so can I!

Now I just need to start working out again. :)

Good solid start to the year!

Total for January is 5 lbs. Seeing as December was a gain month, I'll take it!Laughing

I lost 11.5 pounds in January.  This wednesday will make 4 weeks exactly since start of diet so I'm hoping to make it 12 pounds loss to keep up my 3 lbs per week average.  I have until the end of April to lose 30 more lbs to look fabulous in my wedding dress!  If I can keep up 3 lbs a week I should make it!

but it is true the heavier you are the more you loose at first, i started at the end of January, so i know, i will plateau....very soon....thats what happened to me 2 years ago....started at 220.....plateau'd at 180...hope i hang in there this time!!!.....if anything the biggest looser......is if you can keep it off, you guys are right, most of us, do not have 24/7 to dedicate to this project..Nor do we all have funds to have a personal trainer, i personally, would not have this problem, if i HAD A personal trainer at my disposition.....i want to live a better life, not make it my only goal in life....SO EVERYONE HANG IN THERE, WE WILL DO IT, ....BIGGEST LOOSER, OR NOT!!!....

Hi, I started at 186.5 and now am 176.5  10 lbs total.  I am going with 1200 calories for about 4 or 5 days in a row then 1 day about 2000.  I have been hit and miss with exercise, I got a head cold so of course the first thing I wimped out on was my exercise.  I would like toshare a tip with everyone to tell you how I think I lost the weight.  Each week, I steam a couple of heads of broccoli, fresh green beans, spaghetti squash etc.  Then whatever meal I make for supper or even if I have a pre-packaged Lean Cuisine, I add about 2 cups of the vegis to the meal.  I love to eat!   This way I get a full dish of food.  1 cup of spaghetti, throw in 2 cups chopped fresh green beans and maybe a little more sauce.  But if I don't have the vegis already steamed in the refrigerator that is when I blow it!

5.5 lbs lost.  Very close to my monthly goal of 6 lbs.  Goal for the year is to get down into the 140s.

so exactly 3 pounds...slowly but surely I suppose. also, I did start weight training so I'm sure I am holding onto more water than usual.

Not bad, when you consider I'm just dieting, not exercising.

Great Job all...Biggest Loser will make you feel bad at times..but keep moving!

starting weight (jan 2): 182

ending weight (jan 30): 175.6

so my total january loss is 6.4. my goal for february is 5 pounds, but i know it will be harder since i won't have that immediate loss of a few pounds right at the start and the month is just a bit shorter.but having a tough goal will keep me on track and focused!

January total was 5 pounds and I am happy with that; I would love to see more come off but I also know that the slow way is the better way so I am sticking to the way I do it.
