How much weight do you lose using this sight?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi, this is the second day using this sight I like seeing how many calories I should eat but the sight never told me how much weight I would lose every week if following their suggested calorie goal of 1300, does any one else know?

If you eat 500 calories less than you burn (look at your burn meter's Total Estimate), you should lose approximately 1 lb/week.

It depends on how many calories you burn. If you burn 500 more calories a day than you eat you will lose 1 pound a week. If you burn 1000 more calories a day than you eat it will be 2 pounds. 1 pound is 3500 calories.

sight = using your eyes, vision etc

site = website, location etc.

Sorry, couldn't resist. There's no automatic amount of weight you'll lose from using CC, it's up to you to make the most of it.

Glad you couldn't resist, it was driving me nuts. :)

thammond, I think it does tell you how much in lbs you would lose if you follow their suggested cal intake when put all the numbers in the 'calorie target'. Or on your profile info.

Thammond,

as coralbell already wrote: to lose 1 lb of body fat you have to either eat 3500 cal less than your body uses or you have to work out for this amount of calories.

The idea is basically that you have to create a negative balance in the course of a week:

say your body has a daily 'usage' of 2000 calories.

You eat 1500 and work out every day for 200 calories. This results in a daily negative balance of 700 calories (2000 - 1500 = 500 + 200 = 700)

After 5 days you accumulate a negative balance of 3500 calories.

And as 3500 calories equal 1 lb that's the pound you lose on your scale.

So do the math. You can easily figure out how much you would theoretically lose within 5 days, 10 days, 2 weeks or a month.

Cheers

B.

Thanks

I have been counting my calories for approx. 2 months now, and the whole negative balance thing hasn't quite clicked. I have just eaten the suggested amount of calories CC suggested to loose weight. Thanks for breaking it down!

I've lost 20 pounds since I started using CC's tools in February. How much I eat varies. How much I workout varies. Basically, I do something active everyday (even when not hitting the gym) and count calories M-f . I concentrate on high fiber, high protein, low cal foods (making homemade pizza with tortillas, eating yogurts/puddings as snacks, drinking a cup of coffee as a snack when I'm craving something excessive...).

Just weigh everything (at first...you'll learn how to eye it later), stay active and keep going. Whenever it gets hard, think of how great you'll feel when you look better and feel stronger. I have about 10 more pounds to go, but I've accomplished mini goals along the way. It feels so great to have all my clothes fit or be too big.
