Girls!  I feel my motivation coming back.  I appreciate your comments.  I especially agree how we can't control what happens around us, but we can control how we act.  My biggest thing is to not let a mistake derail me.  I often tend to blow the rest of the day off instead of living in the moment.  For example if I eat a cookie l normally would let it ruin my entire day and I will eat bad the rest of the day.  I have to take it hour by hour even minute by minute.  I need to live in the present and stop worrying about the bigger picture because it will come.  Not overnight, but it will come.

I got good news.  My sister is going to give me her treadmill.  She got it for Xmas and doesn't use it so lucky me.  I have some a cheap bike and elliptical from Walmart.  They work, but I am bored.  Very excited to walk on a fancy treadmill.  Also I don't think I have gained all my weight back.  Just a couple pounds.  See I am thinking positive already.

Thank you again PENNY & JODI.  I hope I can be here for you when you need it. Jodi I love the sound of sweeping leaves.  You must be somewhere there is an actual Fall:)

XOXO

Lindsey

Hey Lindsey, How much was your elliptical, I really want one (though I'm not sure where I'd put it in my house, but maybe if I save my pennies I could afford it reasonably soon, though I'd really rather have a gym membership. But I guess we figure out what we can right?

I also wanted to welcome futurebeauty to the group along with anyone else that might've joined our ranks lately on the quest to onederland that we're all working on.

Hi everyone and newbies!!!

It has been awhile, my computer has been down and they took away our internet access at work so I was not able to get on. It kinda thru me off, because I like to log my stuff and I couldn't and I think I went over board some days because I wasn't staying focused and not writing stuff down. But I started again today. I already logged my breakfast!!!!

It sounds like everyone is doing really well!!!! I am sorry to hear about your loss Penny and I am glad to hear that you are okay after IKE. I have some family in Houston and they were pretty worried. Also, we love to vacation in Kemah and Galveston.

Well, I have to go to a football game and start my day!!! Hope everyone has a great Saturday!!!

Bustin' out my bell-bottoms and platforms in the 70's ~ Cindi Tongue out

Congrats Cindi!! That's amazing! So my lovelies I'm super excited today because thanks to having an awful stomach bug this weekend I've finally broken this plateau I've been stuck at and am down to 205, I know one or 2 of those lbs will come back when I'm eating a bit more regularly but I'm super excited to be this close to my goal, more than half way there now :-D

I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend!

Hi everyone.sorry to hear that you were sick icegenesis, but at least you got something good out of it. although it is never good to lose weight because we are sick. ugh!  I hope to be at 205 maybe in a week or week and a half. I just can't seem to get back to the pace I was at.  when I get off track it really takesm alot to get me back on. I am doing pretty good with my eating, but still hitting nearly 1900 everyday.  I did walk 3 days this week and do my pilate type exercise everyday for about 45 mins, but has not been enough to make much difference with out ramping up my walking more. I sure miss the swimming. three days a week, I really loved it. and it was so much easier to lose also.   Hello cindi, long time no write. you sound like you are doing real well. wow 179, you are truding right along.  I will break that onderland door open one of these days, and I will be writing in all caps and bold when I do,( shouting for all to hear). only 19 to your goal. wow. I am so happy for you.  your goal is the same as mine I would love to be at 160, which is actually  my high school weight if you can believe that. and I was twirler and very active, but also very curvy( didn't look like a teenageer haha).  pinkprissy sorry to hear you were having comp. problems and then they took your internet access. ugh.  I was having lots of comp and internet problems so hubby and I decided to get a new one, we got an HP laptop this time, my old one was a desk top.  we wanted a lap top so if we get to go on vac. we can take it with us.  I also got DSL here at home. I am so happy with it.  They have not got it everywhere in our rural community so we are lucky that we do have it. It would take me so long before to down load a pic or anything I would give up. also my posts I would take a while to write them, then the dial up would go down and I would lose them. mad me very mad. I am still learning alot about my new  lap top. can't figure out yet how to defrag. I had the fire dog install and all from circuit city so will have to call them and figure it out.    oh galveston has alot of damage, but they are opening back up to tourist for the lonestar bike rally. I was surprised.   the old balanese room is gone.  I am glad I got to go in there and take some photos before it was washed away. I think both of the murdock's bathhouses ( the souvenier shops over the water ) were mostly washed away. no word if they wil rebuild or not.  balanese will not he says. the history of it is washed away so not going to try to recapture it.  kemah is in ruins and will take a long time to rebuild. they say they will. but I don't know how long?  I image most of the kemah township ( not the board walk but down past it) was washed away also when I look at the boardwalk all the rest. are gutted completely. they did however save all the fish and things that we at the aquarium.  crystal beach and boliver is in total ruins. it is an island now since the bridge at rollover pass is completely gone.  they think there is still 300-400 missing that will probably never be found. such a waste too since they told them over and over to get out.  They asked them to write their names and ss#'s on their arms with perm. ink so they could identify them after the storm. still so many wouldn't leave. they just thought a cat 2. no biggie. we have rode them out before.  how wrong they were.      &nbs p;

hotsauceteele. glad you are getting your motivation back. now I need to get some too and shake a leg. vac. coming ( hopefully at the end of the month) so hopefully that will be the ticket) maybe we can find a hotel or two with an inside pool. good thing about the west. most hotels have indoor pools because even in summer it can be cold at night sometimes.  we are planning on going back to tombstone az. we just love it there. will just hang out with the locals and tell some tall texas tales. haha. will be halloween so that should make it more interesting.  everyone there has always been so friendly to us when we visit.      &nb sp;  hope everyone had a great weekend.   may we all find our motivation to keep us on the path that leads us to our most healthy self. keep kickin girls   we are going to get there !!!!!!!!!!!  penny

Happy Monday Ladies!!

I am back on track today.  Feeling great.  The weather has been so nice the last couple days and has left me a little sick with happiness.  I made it through another Arizona summer:)

Hope all is well with everyone.

icegenesis-I think my elliptical was around $200.  It is not the best-it actually kicks my bootie.  It is a magnetic and harder than typical elliptical.  The bright side is I think it burns more calories than the elliptical at the gym.

penny-vacations are always a great motivated.  Especially if you will be spending time in a swimsuit.  If you have a couple weeks it might be a good idea to buy a suit in a size smaller and push it hard to get in it.  You know they are all on sale right now since summer is over:)  I know you will do it.  You are a trooper:)

Have a great day!

Lindsey

HI lindsey.  I am way ahead of you girl. I have several bathing suits in size smaller bought new a few years ago, the tankini, because I don't ever plan on wearing anything without shorts. my legs are just too ugly at the top, on the other hand from about mid thigh down they are looking pretty good, especially from the knee down.  I am actually wearing some shorts above the knee, for the first time in 14 yrs or more.  I have some that hit  me about3 inches above the knee now. I think I have pretty knees. haha.  Guess where we will be on vac. Arizona.  we are going back to tombstone area. have been there twice already and had even thought of buying something there. the people there are always so friendly to us and it small town,1500 not to mention all the cool history and paranormal activity.   I hope to luck into a pool or two on the wayover and back to do some pool activities. some of the hotels on the way have indoor pools. don't think anything in tombstone does though.  we had thought of heading up to sedona area also this time but don't want to be rushed around. maybe next year.  you are around phoenix area right?

Hi everyone!!! Having an okay week.

Icegenesis-- I bought my elliptical at a yard sale a couple of houses down from me. It is awesome. It's probably bigger than the ones at the gym. I only paid $40. Can you believe that?? If I were you, I would look at yard sales, rummage sales, and stuff like that. I would even look at Craigslist.com. They always have stuff cheap. They sometimes have people just trying to get the stuff out of their homes and will give it away free. I think with the way the economy is right now, you could find someone trying to make some money selling theirs. Good luck!!!

Hi everyone! Today is a great day! I'm officially 30 pounds down!!!! Laughing

Sunday my boyfriend wants to take me clothes shopping to celebrate. How sweet!!

Last Friday we bought a WII and go the WII fit. MAN OH MAN!!! I just LOVE that thing! It really makes working out fun.

KEKRI, So happy for you about the 30 lbs. down. that is so awesome.  Boyfriend is going to take you shopping,  wow what more can you ask?  that is sweet.  glad you found a workout that you like.  keep on keeping on girl.

Hey everyone, I am really missing all of you. I have been out of house for about 5 days.over at mother in law's, no internet over there.  I am at a total plateau. I know it is mostly my fault because the storm, Ike took me off course and I couldn't walk much for nearly 3 weeks.  I did however do my pilate type exercise for about 40 mins a day during that time. I seemed to have gained just a tad or was bloated then about 3 weeks after the storm was back where I was before it hit. still at 210 have been there for about 6 weeks now. This is first "real plateau" that I have hit.  we have vacation coming up soon, soon. starting this coming sunday.  we are leaving monday for parts west. heading for tombstone az. we plan on being there about a week, it will take 2 days out and 2 days back pretty hard driving.  I am trying to plan some good snacks for the road and take some picnic stuff for road side parks. we will eat out some too, and luckily the hotel we will be at has a pool, yaaaaay!!! and a hot tub. my poor back and hubby's poor knees will probably need it after that  1200 mile drive. would be nice to come back with a little loss. I hope we can get some walking in and I am going to try to swim for at least an hour and a half everyday ( hopefully).  ( the pool is heated yaaay).    I am hanging in there girls, I refuse to give up and I know I will have to fight to do this thing.  with fall coming on and winter coming though ( my favorite time of year) I think I will get to walking alot more and things will pick up soon.  guess my body just decided that we are going to lose slower now. I hope to lose 50 more lbs, but am not in huge hurry, will take it as it comes and as long as I am holding myown or going down I will not panic because tomorrow is always a new day and a fresh start.  miss youall!!!! penny

Hey Gang,

Sorry I was MIA for a while.  Missed you all.  I had a super stressful and busy October and found myself falling back into my old patterns.  The last straw was getting on the scale Friday morning before my surgery and seeing 210.  What a bummer!  I was down to 202 in the beginning of september.

So, now that all the family obligations and surgery is out of the way I'm going to start concentrating on ME again.

I'm hoping to have some time now to read back over the past few weeks and catch up with you ladies.  Hope everyone is well!

Happy to be back!

Jodi

Hi, Would you mind if I join?  I started Calorie Count back in March, but didn't last long.  I have "officially" restarted as of October 13.  My starting weight was 290 and I am now at 281.  My goal is to make it to "onderland" in this lifetime, around 180 would be nice.  But honestly, right now, I would be thrilled to be at 250.  This time around I am taking it slow and steady.  I have started walking every morning before work.  The first week, I didn't really watch what I ate, just wanted to get into the exercise first.  Then, the second week, thanks to a nasty head cold, I didn't feel like eating as much on a couple of days.  Amazingly, on those days when I ate less, I didn't die from starvation and the sun still came up the next day.  So, this week, I have made little changes and cut back here and there.  I log everything I eat, which I've been doing since the beginning. Any tips you all might have would be welcome and all motivation is GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Ka2007.  Sounds like a delicious trip!  I'm jealous.  I never go anywhere!

Welcome gracie.  Isn't it amazing how lots of little changes add up?

I had another good day.  Snacked on Oranges instead of kit kats!  I gave in to a couple toosie roll pops.  But they're only 60 calories and take a while to eat.  So I figure if I'm craving a sweet or halloween candy, it's not as bad as a peanut butter cup!

I'm hoping that the weather is better and I can take a walk outside.  I can always go on the treadmill, but it's not as therapeutic as walking outside.  But, any walking is better than none!

I will have to remember the tootsie roll pops.  I have been using the extra sugar free gum like they talk about on the Biggest Loser.  Sometimes it helps but other times, it just doesn't cut it.  I knew I was going to have a big dinner tonight so at lunch I had a grilled cheese sandwich thinking that wouldn't be too bad.  Wrong!  I should look up the calories before I go out to eat.  I guess it just takes time.  But I didn't eat the chips that came with the sandwich and that was a big step for me!  I could live off chips and dip, I think.

Hope you get out tomorrow for a walk.  I agree the fresh air is so therapeutic, especially when it's just a little chilly and invigorating.
