Hey there are 10 more days in the month! You can accomplish great things in 10 days!

blaming is not usually a helpful thing for learning to deal with our problem. Taking personal responsibility involves incorporating the necessary discipline needed.

You've done marvelous...don't abotage yourself by stressing over "goals"...do the foot work and the pounds will come off by themselves!

Hang in, Friend!

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a good week and stayed on track. I did good this week and happy to say I lost two more lbs yea! But I dont think I will make my 10 lbs goal this month but will come close to it, unless I really really push myself. I did not walk much this week so maybe if I start walking more that will help. Well have a great weekend everyone and keep up the great work! We will all be big losers when we are done!

No loss for the week....disappointed, yes; unexpected, no.

While I have kept up with my walking and watercises class, I was a bit loose with my food plan...a party binge on Sat and Chinese take-out on Tues.

But I am not discouraged...in fact, I'm more determined to focus!

I gained half a pound this morning. I was aggravated but not extremely upset about it. It'll come off again soon.

SO, I'm going to see ZZ Top tonight with my mother and my best friend and I'm super excited. They're playing at Mohegan Sun (a casino in southern CT) and we're going to gamble for an hour or so, get dinner and then go to the show. I'm excited about playing the new half a penny slots (or hay-penny if you so choose). Ooer! =)

Cross your fingers that I win "big". (or that I don't lose all the money that I go there with. haha)

Edit: Thanks Kris. I always enjoy your replies. =)
Rebepi- Wow ZZ Top I bet that will be great. They have half a penney slots? I have never heard of that.

It seems like I never have time to get on here anymore. Work has been crazy we ate out 3 out of 4 days this week. Not good from me. But I am only up a couple of pounds so that is good it is probably water weight.
Where is everybody at? I can not believe I was the last to post. I hope everyone has a good weekend. I am sick so I am not sure how good mine will be.

Hey trapp- They left you to talk to yourself. Last weekend I was the last post for the entire weekend. Sorry to hear that your sick. I stayed the same weight this week did not gain did not loose. Oh wellCool

So, ZZ Top was amazing. AND it's my birthday today! haha. So this was a  pretty good weekend.... until I got my monthly and I gained 4 pounds. *sigh*. Oh well.
Happy Birthday Rebecca!

Happy birthday to you rebepi!

I've been stressed lately because my wedding is only in two weeks now! We got a ton of planning done this weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to concentrate a little more on work and self-improvement, but lately the wedding and all the little details have been consuming me. However, I have been losing weight steadily lately, about a pound a week, which makes me happy! It was very, very slow for the past couple of months, but it seems to be at a steady rate again.

I was very happy to tell everyone at my bridal shower that I've lost 30 pounds so far. They were all impressed. :-)

Happy Birthday Rebepi! It is my TTOM also I don't want to even step on the scale. I will on my weigh in but not until then. I got new bedroom furniture this weekend it will be delivered in about 14 days and I can not wait.

Happy Birthday, Rebecca! Hope you celebrated in some healthy way!

I had a wonderful weekend camping. Got to take a 45 min walk up and down hills Sat AM, without panting for breath! That was such a good feeling!

We tried biking, but the hills were just too steep, so we walked thru the woods, together! Made me kind of glad the bikes didn't work out, know what I mean?!!

Still learning about the RV and camping, but loving it! Learning to eat healthy, lo-cal, lo-fat and lo-salt out of cans is a bit challenging though!

Kuribo: I'd be freaking out if I was getting married in 2 weeks (or at all actually haha). Congrats!!!

Thanks for all the happy birthday's!! =)

Kriss: I don't know if I could figure out how to eat well while camping, so I'll avoid camping all together. Which is fine because I'm not a huge fan of bugs and tents. =)

Hello all! I just joined 3 weeks ago and I am so excited that this group was started.  I'm 5'7, and was 280 when I started.  My goal is 150 by Mar 2010.  so far I have had a 5 lb weight loss.  I am very excited about this. Went to the Doctor to find out what diet would be best and he said the same thing I've heard for years....."Eat less, move more, make your choices count and hydrate hydrate hydrate!"

Could it really be that simple?  Am I just making it harder?  I believe so.  I am a mindless night time muncher.  I could go through the day and eat very few calories, but tonce hubby and kids are in bed I could eat and eat and eat and never get full.  Then I read an article that said that's how sumo wrestlers gain weight.....they fast all day and eat right before they go to bed.

I'm trying to make healthier decisions about night time snacking.....would like to eventually stop.  I've tried pretzels (favorite munchy) but when 1 hard pretzel is 100 cal. and I consume 5-7, that's 500-700 cals. right before bed.

Totally excited about my success, but I really need some input on the night time grazing.

Thanks,

Mandy

Welcome Mandy!

"mindless" munching? You are aware of it, so it's no longer mindless, right? Are you sitting in front of the TV while munching? Are you bored or too tired after a long day of caring for family? Sometimes the "why" and "how" are just as important as the "what" of eating.

I know that I had to learn to turn off the TV, go to bed earlier, find another way to "unwind" at the end of a long day (can you say "bubblebath"?) and simply enjoy just a nice hot cup of herbal tea.

Hope these thoughts help.

Hello, My name is Lisa.  I was  thinking about joining this thread, since  the one I was using is not very active anymore.  I havent used this site in 4 months and have gained 8 lbs back putting me at 228 now.

My Christmas wish is to be around 210 maybe even 199.  I'm eating around 1700 calories a day and trying to walk on my treadmill 3 days a week for 30 minutes.  Yes I am quite upset about the weight gain.

My daughter had her tonsils out in July and I found myself eating icecream with her to calm her pains.  Well she ended up having some problems after the surgery and lost 6lbs.. This was horrible because she only weighed 52 before  surgery and she is only six.  Well she came through it after a month of recovery..  (No excuses  HUH)

~~Mandango:  I love pretzles also, I found some pretzle sticks at walmart, you can eat 40 of them and they are around 120 calories.

Hey rebecca,

No bugs or tents for me...got a motorhome! And have a fire, grill a meal...works for me!

Speaking of getting married, I've only got just over 4 months till my wedding! WOW, where's the time going??

Hello hello hello- slow but steady- that's what I keep telling myself- the encouraging part is that while I may not be losing it fast- I am still losing it and its great to see the line go down when you post new weights!! I love the down sign!!

Happy Birthday Rebecca! I hope you had a wonderful day!

Welcome newbies! Glad to have you here with us, just jump on in! We have a Great bunch of people here!

Sounds like everyone had a really busy weekend. I did as well. Sat we worked more on the back yard and then Sun Hubby and I went to the Renaissance Fair alone yeah!. Needless to say, I did not eat that great this weekend and I am going to try and keep my cals to about 9 to 10 hundred for just a few days and make sure I workout everyday. I walked for an hour today so I got that overwith for today

G-Sue We also like to camp, we have a two level trailer/camper that we gutted and made brand new. The kids love the upstairs where there beds are. No bugs and real beds! thats my kind of camping!

Welcome Lisa,

The best Christmas gift you can give yourself and your family is a healthier you! Let us know if you need encouragement, support, or even a little scolding. We're here to help!
