Hi!!!

Welcome Kristi!!!! I don't care much for onion rings but I would looove to eat a BOX of Little Debbies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Kristi!

I love reading everyone's posts, because it's like looking into a virtual mirror to see Myself!!

Onion rings/Little Debbies....what do they have in common? For me, and I suspect most of us, they have a "trigger" ingredient that sets our bodies into a craving mode. The high fats of fried foods, the high sugars of cookies, the salt of munchies, all of these trigger my "bing-in-a-tor" mode!!

So each day, every day, as I'm faced with these things, I make a choice not to eat them TODAY! We can't change yesterday, it's past. We can't control tomorrow, it's the future. But today is a gift we can give ourselves, that's why it's called the "present"!

Babycakemom - your walking routine sounds really great, and I know you're burning off at least a few hundred calories that way - so 1250 is not going to be enough. You should really eat a little more; I'd try 1400-1500 for a while and see how that works for you. You don't want your metabolism to shut down from getting too few calories!

Also, drink lots of water - it can fill you up and make you not feel as hungry. Also, protein foods turn off the hunger signal much faster than carbs, so if you're really hungry, reach for a little cottage cheese or something similar (mine is 90 cals for 4 ounces, and that usually satisfies!)

Hey everyone...welcome to the newbies....I prefer to be called PJ. pedeisme stands for my intials spelled out P D is me. I was PDR, and now I am PDJ. So, PJ is fine. I know that was really long winded. I had a great day as far as my eating, but work sucked.  I am really tired tonight, and not sure why. I stayed away from the carbs. I hate water too....no way around that is there? I miss my caffine, my coke a cola. I love fountain coke....okay....i love water, i love water, i love water...I am trying...i love water. Wink

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome.  Just got home a little while ago.  Meetings tonight.  They served supper and I just got a glass of water to tide me over till I got home to eat my nutritious delicious meal.  LOL.   I was very proud especially since the dessert table would have been a great thing to just live on.  Anyhow came home and ate supper like a good girl.  Stuck to my 1500cals for the day.

I love cottag cheese so I will have to get some when I go grocery shopping.  Thanks for that tip PJ.

Well friday is almost here and hope that everyone has a great weekend.  My parents are coming into town so we should be pretty busy all weekend.  Hope that everyones friday is great .

I know my TOTM is over when I lose 4 pounds in a week. *dances* I love losing my water weight all at once.

Hello and happy Friday to everyone on today.  I'm planning on being really really careful about what I eat this weekend so I don't end up sick again. At least I know that if eat really poorly there are extreme consequences that aren't just weight gain.

I know because of these stupid gall stone attacks that I'm not going to be getting enough protein for the next couple months, which sucks really bad. I don't really know what to do about it though. If I have to much protein in my system, I end up really sick for hours at a time, which just isn't worth it.

I'll have to find a way to eat small amounts of protein througout the day. Or something.... Actually, I have no clue. haha

Maybe the dancing helped get those pounds off too, Rebepi!

A little protein with each meal is a good thing, as protein helps stabilize hunger. For gall bladder, high fats are worse than protein!

I am pleased that 2 more lbs left me this week! That makes a total of 26 lbs since end of July. More importantly, I've gained a Positive Attitude!!

Hey Everyone!

Kristi, I know what you are struggling with at home.  My hubby and two boys are junk food junkies.  They could sit and eat all day and it doesn't have the effects on them that it does on me.  My hubby and I joke that he would eat a double 1/4 lb.er and lose 2 lbs.....I smell one and gain 5! hahahaa.

Maybe this will help you.  I got this advice from a gal who lost 75 lbs.  Make yourself a priority in your household.  When you groceryshop for your family, include your needs in on your list.  (i.e. hubby likes to eat hostess....thank God hostess came out with 100 cal. paks....I got some of those for me and it kept me out of his snacks).

Another healthy and thin woman gave me this advice "Cook for the sickest person in your family."  I need to eat low-fat foods and since I am cooking for the "sickest" person in my house (me) I am challenged to find tasty low-fat foods for my family.  It's been an exciting challenge and I've found some things my hubby loves! (hard to do cuz he's very picky)

I hope this was helpful.

Mandango- I like that line about cooking for the sickest person. I never thought of it like that. I just try to eat really healthy all day and then eat smaller portions at night. We usually don't eat too bad. But I just try to eat less.

Rebepi and Krismasself congrats on the weight loss.

Well I broke down and had a doughtnut today. We had a patient of ours who owns a donut shop bring us some. They were still warm!

Oh well life goes on I will be fine.
I lost another 1.5 pounds this weekend. It's like I fell off the "plateau" I was on. I'm pretty happy that I almost got to my goal for September: 222 lbs (I ended at 222.5).

I'm going to make my goal for October 214. So that would be an 8.5 pound loss or a little bit over 2 pounds a week.

Oh Oh!!! I walked over a mile on my treadmill on friday while watching family guy on tv, which makes walking a lot easier. At least it doesn't make it as boring. =) Hopefully I can do that more often.

How was everyone's weekend?

Sue Congrats on the weight loss!!! Your doing a great job!

I did have a great time with my Mom this weekend but I spent to much and ate to much but it was a fun weekend and now back to work on losing again and working out.

If anyone ever wants to email me personally for more support please feel free to.

 So how was everyones weekend?

I had a wonderful weekend with friends...but too much food has set my emotins on a downward motion!

I've packed, planned and logged my food for taoday, but not feling very positive about it...because I'm not feeling positive about other things in life at the moment. But, this will pass....

Hope everyone had a good weekend. You can tell that we are really busy on the weekend no time to get on here. Well this weekend I did not do so good. I think it was the donut on Friday. It triggered a "I don't care weekend" I need to stop doing that. Well today is a fresh start.
Good Morning.  Today is my birthday!  The weekend was spent celebrating.  I had cake and Mexican food and managed to stay at the weight I was last week.  I'm not disappointed that I didn't lose.  I'm ecstatic that I didn't gain.  So back to healthy living and calorie budgeting.  I'll take the 7lbs. I've lost so far.
Kriss, I hope everything is alright.

Happy Birthday Mandango!!!!!

Happy Birthday Mandy!

I know what you mean about food centered around a celebration, especially when YOU are the center of that celebration! But the important thing is NOT to beat ourselves up about it.

That's what I'm telling myself today...not to let the cycle of guilt/remorse lead to another bad day of eating...just concentrate on the solution, NOT the problem. I've done it before, and with the encouragemnet of all my CC friends and the Power of the Spirit, I'll do it today too.

I'd like to join. I had my second baby 1 year ago and weighed in at 240(never let the DR tell me how much I weighed during the pregnancy). I started dieting in May of this year and was doing great on a 1200 cal diet, I'm now 210 and completely tired of salad and no mountain dew, so I haven't been dieting for about a month-I need help getting back on track! I'm 5'8 and would like to get down to 175-I'd love more, but will shoot for a reasonable goal.

Happy Birthday Mandy!

Welcome Christalo I am sure you will like it here.
Rebecca,

I love the way you've listed the weight goals in your profile you've inspired me.... :)

Well my scale hasn't moved much but I joined a gym sunday and I had to buy new pants down 2 sizes.
