Sarah~
=)
well thanks to that other poster in the forums. It's a great thing to do. I've got all my mini mini goals set up in my profile have a look if you like. The 10kgs lost goal is just around the corner.
I'm so happy today I've lost 21lbs so far on the path to say goodbye to a weight starting with 3 forever at 294lbs.
It also means that I've lost half the weight I want to loose by christmas which is a total of 40lbs... only 19lbs to go. My family hasn't seen me in 2 years time and I was 300+ back then so It'll be great.
Mandy,
Grazing is something some of us simply cannot allow ourselves to do! While many recommend eating every 2-3 hrs to keep blood sugars level, I know I can't do that. It's just too important to me to keep on a 3 meals/ 1 "snack" nothing in between program! I know that the "first bite" leads to a thousand more!
Please consider checking out Overeaters Anonymous (www.OA.org) for some helpful ideas! I've been a member a long time, and I know that if I weren't I'd be far worse off than I am!
Don't stop trying. God will support you, all you have to do is ask, then act as if H'es already given you that support!

Repi and Sabine,
I think your short term goals idea has great merit! I personally hate the picture that's posted here, and am trying to get a decent "first 25 lbs gone" photo to replace it, and keep a gallery of photos as I go along.
Today I'm wearing a pair of slacks that have been hiding in the back of the closet for a year! What a great feeling, and it's not only the pounds lost, but the muscle toning of walking and watercises. In fact, my tummy muscles ache today ofter a great work out in the pool last night. I highly recommend it...easy on the joints, but great for toning and burning calories!

Last night I found my fat burning pilates dvd and man am I sore today. But I feel good today.
Reading all the posts helps me stay on the right path and I want to thank you all for posting and sticking with it and doing this with me and everyone else. Yeah us!!!
I have done really good with my eating so far this week but have no energy to get up and walk ugh I feel like a bump on a log!
I hope everyone is doing well. Anyone hear from Pam lately?
So I have a bit of an odd question/statement... something. So, I'm a big girl and have always been so, as I assume most of you are (unless your male haha). And I know that everyone is sort of "big" in their own way.. you know.. fat in different places. Really, I'm fat in all places but still. I promise, I'm getting to the point. My stomach is my biggest issue with how I look. I've seen a lot of people who are really heavy that have a sort of "flatter" stomach that hangs a little. Mine hangs a little but I also have this fat roll above my belly button that I really want to go away. So it sort of looks like 2 small half tires or something (it doesn't go all the way around thank god). I want the top roll thing to go away really really badly. and I keep having these nightmares about finally getting to my goal weight and having this weird fat roll and still not being able to see my belly button.
This may be sort of stupid.. but is there a likeliness that this could happen? I'm getting closer and closer to my friend's weight and she doesn't have this weird roll like I do.
Anyone else have this? Suggestions to make it go away faster )I know you can't really target fat loss). I'm just frustrated. It doesn't look likes it's shrinking to me.
I'm sorry this post was a bit weird.
rebepi, I know exactly what you are talking about. I have the same wierd roll. Almost like another set of tata's. I never had this until after giving birth to my second child. I have also worried that this wouldn't go away and I would be stuck with a second set for the rest of my life. However, after taking my measurements every week when I weigh myself, I found, to my delight, that my middle has decreased as well. So I have to believe that it will diminish with the rest of me. I hope that was helpful.

Yep, I've got that roll too...sort of like lovehandles misaligned...lol! What some folks have on their side, I've got in the front!
Been doing some serious abs work in the pool, and it seems to help some. The upper abs are so much harder to tone. But waist twisting is the esiest way to work them.
Now I know how you hate exercise, rebecca, but sometimes we just gotta do what we gotta do, ya know??
So on a high note: Today I have officially lost 50 Pounds!!!!!
I'm very excited.
Thanks,
Brandi
Congrats to rebecca!! 50 lbs is a tremendous accomplishment!
Welcome Brandi! You're well on your way! You are still young enough to be able to repair the damage the extra pounds have done to your body. Kick up the metabolism by exercise....mix cardio with strengthening. Learn to eat healthier foods and I recommend measuring until you feel comfortable with knowing a realistic portion size. It's a nuisance, but it works!
Welcome Brandi! And Happy Early Thirtieth! This is a great sight with lots of great people and support. weight loss is hard.....I'm a newbie myself, but it's totally worth it. It's the little changes that seem to be working for me. Drinking a little more water, eating a little less, moving a little more. I'm not even thinking about eventually. I'm sticking it out and I hope you do to, because We are all worth it! We all deserve to be healthy and happy and enjoy our children and our children's children
Plus, this is a thought that I keep in my head......the time is going to pass, surely enough, and wouldn't I rather pass my time reaching for a goal instead of watching it slip by?!? (Deep thoughts by Mandy)
Welcome Brandi,
I too have had c-sec's, 3 of them and I no longer have any feeling between my belly button and bikini line and never will again they told me. I have lost the weight before but could never lose the belly there, it just hangs over yucko! it gets smaller but never totally gone and being that its been cut three different times I don't think there's any hope of it going back to normal unless I have surgery and I don't want to do that. so thankfuly they have underwear that sucks it in lol
Yes sara you have to love that underware! I don't think any of us will ever be back to what we were before (Children, weight gain, marriage ect.) But head in that direction and you will look and feel better no matter what you lose.
I only lost 1 lb this month. That is one lb less I have to lose. and one pound less Than I weighted last month. So onward toward a new me.
I am at a JV football game right now sitting on the bus and so I am finally catching up on all the post.
Humorpam where are you?
It seems like people will post for a while and then they quite. I was happy to see a post from Sad. and that she is doing OK.
Welcome to all the new people and hope to hear from some of the regulars here some more.
Lora
