Sarah~
=)
Welcome Kate!!
Short term goals are so important! It's much easier to face "I need to lose 20 lbs" than "I have to lose 100+ lbs!" I generally aim for 7 lbs/per month, and so far, that has worked for me. But other goals are also important, like a daily goal of calorie range (1200-1400 for me), a water goal (128 oz for me), and an exercise goal....start small, like a 10-20 min walk, and stretch the goals as you go along. Good luck!!
Pam, I just thought that little coffe cup was precious! Creativity always attracts my attention...like how'd you choose your sign-on, photo, etc.
I think Sue was talking about the cup of coffee. (College student/Web developer = Coffee addict ^_^). You guys can call me D. I'll try to get a real picture up soon. Haven't had time to crop one.
Hope everyone is doing well this week.
Thanks everyone for the welcome and support!!!
Daily goals... switching from being a tea drinker to a water drinker - or at least drinking water as much as I have had tea in the past, and drinking tea as much as I have had water in the past!!! 5 big glasses - about 15 cups?
I am going for 20 minutes of either rowing, treadmill or stationary bike for 5 days. I like to mix it up.
weight goal; I think that 7 pounds a month is hopeful - I have 115 to lose by dec 2009, and doing the math (eeeoooh) thats 4.5 lbs a month, but I think I need to shoot for more.
Now, I am accountable!!!!
Welcome Kate! Small goals are great! Today I am setting a water goal of 132 oz. Tommorrow (Weather permitting) I am setting a goal of drinking taking baby for a long long walk as soon as I get my oldest boy on the bus. Someone ask me tommorrow how my walk was okay?
btw.....if I am on here in the morning, that means I didn't do it..... Secrets out(**gasp**)
Sarah, are you walking??!! Good Morning all!!
I had a great rowing workout this morning!!! That buzz you get right after is really great.
I have put a short term goal list on my profile page - do you think that is good enough, or could it use something?? I wish I could put dress or pant sizes, but I guess you can't tell when something like that will happen![]()
I am on the very verge of breaking the 250 lb. mark - I really need to break it!!
Good Morning All!
I have hit the 30 lbs goal.....that's thirty pounds in less than 3 months!! I am amazed!!
Kate, what's really important is not how we feel about your goals, but how you feel about them. Be positive, be accountable, and share the good (and bad) news with us so that we can share in your joy (or sorrow) and be inspired by and for you!
Must be Sarah & Mandy are out walking this morning. Good for them. I told my man this AM that I was going to celebrate losing 2 more pounds by taking an extra lap around the Mall before work. He looked so proud when he replied "Well, isn't that a good thing?!!"
I haven't walked yet today. I am dropping off my youngest son at school then going food shopping and then when I get back I will put Ceci down for her nap and jump on the trampoline =) Thanks for asking =) keeps me accountable
Pam, I think when mandy said "I am setting a goal of drinking taking baby for a long long walk as soon as I get my oldest boy on the bus. " she ment. "I am setting a goal of drinking water and taking baby for a long long walk as soon as I get my oldest boy on the bus. ". Thats how I took it anyways![]()
Good Morning krismasself!! great job!!! 30 lbs must really make a difference in how you feel!!
I think exercising is a great way to celebrate!!!Kudos!!
I did it. I went for my walk. A long long 4 mile gorgeous fall walk
Sue, Congrats on the 30lbs! Way to go! Woo Hoo! yip yip yippee! Happy happy Joy joy Happy happy Joy joy. Happy Dance! Go Sue, It's you birthday, go Sue, It's your birthday! (hee hee)
Kate, I put dress/pant sizes on my profile, I'll enter the date as soon as I get into them :)
Sue - Congratulations on that 30 pound loss! That is truly fantastic. That's more than 10 pounds per month. Is there any secret to success that you would care to share?
Kate - that profile page is about you. Whatever you want us to know. Put as much or as little as you'd like. The more you put, the better we can get to know you.
Mandy - I am impressed. Four miles? Wow, to me that is just beyond wow. Do you take the time though to enjoy the beauty along the way? Or is your mind too much focused on just trying to walk?
Pam, There is this bike path in my town which shouldn't be called simply "the bike path"....it should be called "One step away from heaven." It's a path that goes through the trees and intersects a creek. The path is asphalt with wooden bridges that goes over the creek at parts. My son and I ooh'ed and ahh'ed over the turning colors of the leaves and the leaves that fell when the wind blew through the trees. Absolutely breath taking. It took us 2 hours to cover 4 miles so it was defined as a slow stroll here on CC website. I didn't care how long it took. I wanted to keep on going....the thing that turned me around was knowing my son would have to eat at some time during the day and I needed to clean my home before hubby got home.
I don't like to think of the exercise part.....sounds like a chore.....I want to enjoy my movement. I just need to get disciplined and move more everyday......Move More, Eat Less, Everyday. That's my new focus and motto. I can't keep going on the way I've been going on.....binging at night, not moving more during the day, getting stuck in the guilt trap and getting heavier every year.
I really can't wait until this semester is over.
Glad to see you back Rebepi.
Well I did not eat that great this weekend but did get in a two mile walk so I hope that made up for most of it. I plan on jumping on the mini trampoline today as well as on Mon n Fri when Ceci takes her nap and eat really well the rest of the week. I did lose one pound this past week so I'm happy with that. So how was everyones weekend? anyone do anything fun? our oldest was at scout camp so we took the two lil ones to a halloween fest and they had a great time with the pony and hay rides and the kiddie games. A great way to spend a nice fall day=) I LOVE FALL!
