I had a friend visiting from Oh, and she brought a huge fruit basket, with bagels and mega muffins as a thank you gift! I stayed away from the muffins, had one bagle once morning for b'fast, and will enjoy the fresh fruit thru this week. She had lost 70 lbs in the last 1.5 yrs, so we had some good conversations about how she did it. I got in my 50 min walk Sat AM, and then we went on a historical/architectural tour of Buffalo. WOW!! We all enjoyed that.

Sat night we went to a Halloween party, where I did enjoy some of the foods, but stayed away from my worst trigger fooods. I didn't track my food over the weekend, so I'm hoping I didn't do too much damage to my overall numbers. I do know that I slacked on the water intake, so I'll really be concentrating on that thru the week.

We had a super busy weekend.  Hubby and I went to a marriage conference and then on to a birthday party for our neice.  We were supposed to go to an Octoberfest party yesterday but we all decided that we were just too pooped to party (haha party poopers).  I'm learning the compensation idea.  Hubby and I got Starbucks coffee before our conference and I wanted a Caramel Macchiato....so I had a couple of animal crackers and my favorite coffee for b-fast.  It was close to a 500 cal b-fast, but I got my coffee....so it was all good.

I accidentally left the stroller in the back of the car, which hubby takes to work, so no walk today.  I think I'll put my dance party mix on and dance with baby for an hour.  Other than that, I have tons of house work to do today.....that's gotta count for some calorie burn....right?

Also exited to reach my first goal.  I've lost 10 lbs.  second goal is 28 lbs......only 18 away.

Check out the activity lists...I know housework is in there somewhere!

Thanks for reminding me why, other than the high prices, I stay away from Starbucks!! Whoo...500 cal for coffee...yikes!!

The man & I enjoy watching Dancing with the Stars, and I keep trying to get him up off the sofa to "cut a rug" with me like we used to before kness and feet gave out due to excess pounds! Once had a friend who lost 100 lbs by counting calories and dancing at clubs every night! My daughter took Tap lessons to keep off pounds. So must be a good thing, dancing! Have fun!

Sounds like I wasn't the only one to have a fun weekend. I haven't been able to do my jumping today cuz I have a tooth that hurts bad on and off and its bugging me today and we don't have dental insurance tell Nov 1st sooo I am taking IBU and it helps some but I don't want to aggravate it more. ugh  Have a great night all and I will chat with you all laters.
When I go to Starbucks I usually get a Sugar-free Vanilla non-fat latte (grande)it's a lot lower in cal's than the regular sugar laden whole milk stuff they serve unless you state otherwise. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than 7/11 but I do this as a treat every once in a while. The Caramel Machiatto was high in the 300's for cals and the animal crackers were 90 so I round up to 500. It was still my favorite breakfast for the week. hee hee

This is a site that talks about herbal rememdies and at home ways you can relieve your tooth pain until you can get to a dentist.  at the bottom of the page there are some ideas from a dentist as to some tooth ache remedies.  (I like the one that involves whiskey)  Hope this helps

Good morning all!

I like the Grande soy chai latte no water, Yea, yea, yea, I've got that Starbucks lingo goin'!! The calories are up there, but ya know, It fills me up for a long time, it's spicy and better for my body than say, a molasses cookie - and tastes just like one!! I have one maybe once a week - it gets me through church on Sunday without my stomach rumbling at the altar rail!!!

I have a question - when does one weigh in??  I have been weighing in at the Gym first thing in the morning, but I have been up, had water and a protien bar so that I can function and I have my workout clothes and shoes and socks.  Its that same each time I weigh, so each time I weigh in there is a consistency. But I am wondering - what time of the week, everyday, what type of scale ect. We have an old scale at home - a wedding present, so its 17 years old.

I hope you all have a fantastic day, Take a deep breath !!!!

Kate

Sarah, are you walking??

yum love my caribou coffee here in MN  I get the turtle mocha yum yum its a way I treat myself once a week,  other times I get the light version but nothing beats the real one =)

Mandango thanks for the site I Will chk it out today

Kate I usually weigh in on Fridays in the morning in just my undies and before I eat or drink anything and nope haven't walk yet rainy out here the last 2 -3 days maybe I'll walk around in circles in my house lol

When and where you weigh in is not as important as being consistent. If you weigh on a different scale, ad different day, a different time, and dressed differently, you'll always have fluctuations that'll make you crazy! So pick one day, one time, one scale, and make that the consistent weigh in. Daily weighing works for some, but I read too many postings about daily fluctuations that make people crazy. So I recommend once a week, no more, no less. I stayed off the scale for months, and that was as bad as being on it daily or many times a day!!

Sara, You are welcome!  I love herbal remedies when they can actually help (haha)

Kate, I agree with Sue.  I started out weighing in first thing Monday morning.  I have an old scale and a sloping apartment floor, so I find that one spot on the floor that gives me the lowest number, go to the bathroom, strip down and them weigh and measure.  I had started weighing in everyday a couple weeks ago and my mood was on the same roller coaster as my weight.  I can't take the drama, so I'm back to Monday mornings.  It's been a good incentive for me to bahave on the weekends.

Thanks for "weighing in" on the subject, I sure do appreciate it!!
Ok Kate, just by you asking me if I walked. You motivated me and I walked in place, up and down the stairs and softly on the trampoline for an hour!!!!!  so THANK YOU !! so much ya got me off the couch today Cool

Ok, so it's been a while since I've posted anything at all, but I'm back! ;-)

I joined a 24 Hour Fitness in August and I was feeling good.  In September, they started their Biggest Loser promotion--5 half-sessions with a trainer and stuff for $49--and I started that on Sept. 20.  My trainer Tommy kicks butt!!  I weighed in at 298 (OMG!!) and he said, "you know what though, we're not going to see that again, so who cares what it says."  On Oct. 1, I had finished my sessions with him and we weighed again, and I was at 288!!!  I lost 10 pounds in 10 days!  Woo!!

Right now, I'm at the gym 5 days a week doing Cardio and some resistance training and I feel GREAT!!!  With the help of CC.com, I'm keeping myself between 1700 and 1900 cals a day (sometimes a little more if I'm really working hard) and I've lost 3 more pounds on my own.  I'm going to start back with Tommy at the end of the month--getting my 10 sessions with him.  I really feel like I can do it this time.  I've got 15 pounds to lose and I'll be back to what I weighed before I quit smoking--back to what I weighed when I met my bf.

*happy dance*

Yay Sarah!!!!  I am so glad you did that!!!  You're great!!
Hi guys, just checking in. Wishing ya'll well.
Checking in. I'm at a perfect standstill for the last 4 days, and I'm considering buying a new scale. Not necassarily because it's not showing me what I want it to, but because it really has no idea what's going on. I'll get on and it'll say 221 lbs then I'll step off, wait a minute and get back on and it says 217.5. If I hold a 2 pound weight, it says I gained 3-4 pounds depending on how the stupid scale is feeling. Current scale is digital and about 5 years old.

So... who thinks I should invest in a new scale?

Try a new battery first.

And try to reign yourself into only once/week, only once on and off.

Scale obession is almost as damaging to the ego as food addiction!

Good Morning All!!!!

 Just a reminder!

Get up and MOVE!!!!Cool

I had a good workout today!! 3000 meters of rowing!!the kicker is that the machine was set higher than I usually have it - so I really worked hard!!!!

Sorry Guys I have been so busy. And my daughter has been sick running a fever. All she wants to do is be held. So it has been a rough week. Glad to hear everyone doing so good. I'll check in later.
