=)
I don't think weighing in everyday has been affecting my esteem. I don't mind the variation or the plateaus and such... I kind of like the way my graph looks. =) But I'll try and see if I feel better and if I do, maybe it really was messing me up and I didn't even know it.
kateduttongillett: Oh! Good for you on all the rowing!
I'm fighting a cold, and feeling lousy. Even skipped watercises last night. And things at work aren't too good either, but what else is new?
I did get my Mall walk this AM before work, and it felt great, but I feel sluggish and feverish sitting here in the office. Have a consultant coming in this afternoon, or I might be tempted to go home and sleep it off.
Good luck with the scale thing. I only know I've had a love/hate relationship with scales my whole life, and the only thing that works for me is once/week.
regarding weighing in: do it once a week, same time of day. So many things infulence our daily weight fluctuations. It's also more accurate to weigh yourself BEFORE you work out, since we are most often dehydrated after working out, so we weight less (good, right?) BUT it's deceptive because we'll gain it back as soon as we drink some water ;-)
Dereth - I keep telling myself that I should weigh only once a week, but to get my body to obey is a whole different matter.
Cpulley: Welcome. I actually started out at 271 in June and my first "goal" was around 250 and my final is also around 160. So we have a bit in common. If you don't mind my asking, how tall are you???
Anyway, you'll like our little group. We're all good people. =) Congratulations on deciding to lose weight. It's a pain, but it's worth it.
Welcome Newcomers!
We hope you'll find us to be a warm, caring, sharing, supportive and occasionally humourous group!
My cold seems to neither get better nor worse. I seem to be fighting the urge to "feed a fever...or is it feed a cold"? anyway, so far, so good. Lots of tea and other fluids, an occasional aspirin, zinc lozenges (yucky, but they help)and lots of sleep.
Today my man must be on clear liquids in prepartaion for a medical test tomorrow. I made sure he has broth, jello, and apple juice, then told him I'd see him later this evening. I'll be eating dinner out tonight...lol!
Good morning everyone!!! Welcome to the newcomers, I am new here too and this is a great group!!!!
I tried the elliptical machine this morning for the first time - it was SO much fun!!! I highly recommend it!!! Its like running without the knee punishment!!! I felt so free!!![]()
I'm going to take everyone's advice and just start weighing once a week. Wednesdays seem to be best. Although for whatever reason, I seem to see lower numbers on Fridays. No no no. Wednesdays it is because that's the day I have all my weigh-ins.
OK. So how is everyone else this foggy weirdly warm and cold morning. =)
Sorry, double post.
Welcome to all the newbies! Glad to hear you joined.
Hi to everone else. I am going through some major stress in my life. Please keep me in your prayers. I haven't been doing so well at eating healthy or loosing weight. I am scared to step on the scale right now so I am not going to voice my opinion on how often or when you should weigh yourselves.
lol!

Hi everybody. Hope you're feeling better now Sue. Kate is right - push those fluids!

Oh, I hear ya! Sometimes I catch myself eyeballing that little monster and have to get on it, but I just remind myself that it doesn't count
Not until I have to write it down.
I caved and had small fries from McDonald's today, but that's the first time since September 21 that I've had ANYTHING fried. And I'm still within my Cals for the day, so I'm feeling OK about it. It's about TOTM, so I'm gonna cut myslef a *little* slack and just drink extra water. :) The thing is, I can already feel the gross... so I know I don't want to do this again anytime soon. Hooray!!
Hello~I'm new to the site
I'd like to know if I can join your group. Everyone here seems to be so motivated that it gives me hope. I'm 5'5 and just hit my highest weight at 220. I seem to be gaining weight at record speed right now~maybe its the fastfood!
My husband is trying so hard to get me to go to the gym at night. He says its our time, but our time is at 9:00pm when the kids go to be and I want to just curl up and forget about my day. I think with the motivation from this group, I might just be able to push myself out the door and leave fastfood behind! So if its not to late, can I still join?
Kim
Welcome cpulley, crazygal and kimberley!
Rebepi, nice to see your face!
Kimberly, just a point of view from the other side of the fence...a hubby that WANTS to spend TIME with YOU by SHARING an activity that BENEFITS BOTH of you. What a blessing. Imagine if he didn't care and didn't want to spend that time with you. Something to think about. Don't get me wrong, I totally get the "me time". Is there another time during your day where you can steal an hour to yourself?
