Hello, I'm looking for others trying to lose a lot of weight, to keep each other motivated threw our bad days and cheer us on on our great days! to keep each other going threw out the week by staying in touch. I want people who want to reach there goal weight and wont quit tell we reach them! who's with me?!?!
I am 5'3 and weigh 217 pounds, my goal weight is 127lbs by May 30th of 209

My goal is about 70 or so pounds away. According to the goal given, I should weigh somewhere around 131 but at that weight I look pudgy. I figure at this point I don't care I just need to get going. Any suggestions on getting started?

I have some good news! I was just looking around on Craigslist to scour for any cheapo exercise equipment (or any other interesting tidbits) and I found someone offering to transfer their gym membership, at a place near my home. This is at a gym I was thinking about joining anyway, but can't afford the sign-up fee and don't want to commit for a year or two. So this is perfect - I'll be taking over her membership until January, at which point I could renew or drop it. This is exactly the motivation I need to join a gym. Hooray!
Haha, that's a great idea. I might just do that. :-) My family is really supportive, and would probably be eager to help me out like that. Good thought, thanks!
Hello every one. What a week its been! I hope next week goes better far as me getting online more often. So how did everyone do this week? did we listen to Kate and all get up and move?
I did really well and moved everyday this week from 20 min to 60 min and did really well on eating and even managed to go out with my Mom and have a turtle latte and a pesto cream cheese with turkey sandwich and still lost 2 lbs this week. So I'm happy happy happy!! well I hope everyone had a wonderful week and has an even better weekend. Keep eating right and moving

Isn't it amazing how some weeks we think we've done so poorly...a treat here, an extra portion there, skipped a day of exercise...and still see a loss on the scale?
Just re-proves to me that I am only in charge of doing the work...the results are up to God!

I have some old jeans also that I can not wait to fit into again. I found them this week and put them in my closet and I can get them up but not zipped yet but I will!

This weekend I went shopping for shoes to match that wedding dress. Oh, how I've been longing to wear "sexy" shoes again! Well, the six yr old granddaughter proudly pointed to a pair on the sale rack and said "Try those on Grandma...they're so sexy!" WOW, what does she know of sexy? But she was absolutely correct...and they fit!!! No pinched toes, no fat foot seeping over the vamp or out the sides! Hooray!!
Lora I love your story!! I think its wonderfull how things like that happen!!! by the way, they had a fruit plate at coffee hour and I HAD to have some pineapple!!!

Good News I tried one of my size 14 jeans and I got them on and zipped!! I had to lay down on the bed to do it but hey I GOT THEM ON!!!!!!! Soon they wont be so tight and I wont have to lay down to put them on any more. I cant wait!!! good by baggy size 16s!!

Over the weekend we had B'day cake ordered from the bakery we thought we'd get our wedding cake from. YUK!!! More than half that cake went into the trash, as not a single family member at the dinner party asked for seconds. So now, DH goes out and brings home samples for another bakery....5 different samples!! How in the world does one taste test these things without consuming excess calories??!?
And this week I need to firm up our menu with the luncheon caterer, who prides herself on elegant fare! Ever try to convice a caterer to go low-fat, low-cal?????
