Hello, I'm looking for others trying to lose a lot of weight, to keep each other motivated threw our bad days and cheer us on on our great days! to keep each other going threw out the week by staying in touch. I want people who want to reach there goal weight and wont quit tell we reach them! who's with me?!?!
I am 5'3 and weigh 217 pounds, my goal weight is 127lbs by May 30th of 209
Sarah~
=)
The sinuses are gradually getting better, and I've been guzzling water to overcome the dry, stuffed feeling! That's had another wonderful benefit...I broke the Nov. plateau and dropped to 209 as of this morning's weigh in! My goal is to be under 200 by the wedding, giving myself 2 months to lose 9 pounds or more. Very reasonable goal considering that 2 months includes the Holidays!
Thanks, Pam! I consider all my CC friends to be Blessings...all are messengers from God!
Hi everyone
Humorpam mentioned that she need to increase her veggies. Does anyone want to join me in a challenge?
I suggested this on another post that we report the servings of vegetables that we eat everyday when we post. Such as Today I ate. 1/2 cup cooked carrots for lunch. or I ate 1 Cup of raw broccoli for a snack. You need 5-7 servings of vegetables a day and I am guilty of skipping some of these. I am hopping if I have to report to someone I will increase my veggies too.
(and decrease my appetite)
Anyone up for the challenge?
Lora
Lora,
I'm up to it, but I'm also going to add fruit to mine as I lack enough of both.So heres to all of us adding more healthy snacks!
Well Yesterday was a total flop! went over with the snacks so today I am going to watch everything I eat!
I hate when you are between sizes! I have 16s that are way too baggy on me and 14s that are so tight on me I have to lay down to get them on!!!!!! ugh!!!
Hi, all!
I was reading through and saw Pam's note on Diet Coke. This is really gonna make everyone unhappy.... Aspartame, the sugar substitute in many diet drinks has two things that are bad about it....
1. Over time it discourages weight loss. *Did I hear a collective groan?*
2. It has been linked to increasing cases of Multiple Sclerosis and even Fibromyalgia.
My grandmother, who is a news junky, saw a story about it on the news, and I have Googled the words "Multiple Sclerosis, aspartame" and come up with many, many, many articles about it. There is also an article from the MS Society that denies the connection, but they do receive money from industry and would not want to tick off anyone using aspartame.
Here is the general idea.... Aspartame causes a reaction in the body, (which, BTW, is worse when combined with MSG), that distroys the Myelin Sheath around nerve cells. The Myelin Sheath is vital for nerve conduction. It is kind of like the rubber insulation around power cords. If it is damaged, the signal can't travel from one end to the other without losing it's electricity somewhere along the way, i.e. shocking someone. If there were no insulation at all, the signal would be lost to whatever was in contact with it. Imagine that happening in our brain.... we would want our right leg to move, or hold us up when standing, and then suddenly our leg isn't getting that signal anymore.... it has been lost along too many points of exposure.
I hope that makes sense.... that is the way I explain Myelin Sheath to my students, but it doesn't make sense to all of them. ![]()
A good substitute for aspartame is Splenda. Unfortunately, the only soda I know to be made with Splenda is Cheerwine.
Sorry this is so long... Just wanted to pass on the info.... I have been telling pretty much anyone I can... hope Coke and Pepsi and all those others don't send someone after me!! hehehe
Hey everyone!
Good info on the Diet Coke thing....
Humorpam--just like i mentioned before you can do this! WE are in together! I'm proud of you for getting back on plan.
Tried solving the cookie dilemma, but looks like i will have to be bringing my own veggies to snack on when i go out to the folks. The farm dog got another bag of cookies, and my co-workers a bag of cookies. Sigh!
Lost some of the "turkey" weight i gained. down to 296.6 from 299.
new mini goal is 290 by end of December...
Have a good week everyone!
So, I celebrated and went to get a new pair of jeans. I love old navy because they vanity size really bad (I think I'm not supposed to love them because of that haha), but I purchased a pair of 16's and when I got home my mom made me try on the pair she bought for my sister for christmas that were the same style but were 14s.
They fit!! I should have bought 14s. They made my butt look good. haha. =)
How was everyone's weekend??
I would love to join your group. I am 5' and weigh 220lbs. My goal is 130lbs. I don't have a goal date for the final weight, but I would love to be out the of 200's by my daughter's 17th birthday in May. I need the support of others to get the weight off and be the healthy mom and wife I know I can be!!! Thanks!!!
humorpam-Don't knock yourself down. You still give good advice even if you don't walk the walk. YOU ARE A WONDERFUL INSPIRATION AND MOTIVATOR! Now eat your veggies!
rebepi-Way to go girl! I am a longggg way from size 14 and my butt don't look sooo gooddd.
Welcome proud mom. Join right in and tell us a little about yourself.
So far I have eaten a serving of carrots on my oatmeal for breakfast.

Hi everybody,
I'm not new to CC, but am new to this thread. I hope you dont mind me intruding!
I used to weigh around 285, but now i'm down to 233.5. The weight loss has occurred over a long period of time though. At the moment i am geared up to lose 13-15lbs in the next 10 weeks, to get me under 220lbs (100kg) for the first time in maaaaany years.
I'm 24 by the way :)
feel free to add me as a friend. I love getting to know new people on CC.
Welcome Proud Mom!
Well today is my birthday I am 33 today. I went to the gym yesterday it was my first day. I liked it. It just opened Friday so I am hoping it won't get too pack for awhile it wasn't packed at all yesterday but it was a Sunday so that could have been it.
We went to Shreveport this weekend and had lots of fun lost a bunch of money but had fun. Did real good on my eating.
Well I hope everyone has a good day.
Yesterday I mentioned I'd been craving ice cream, and we discussed the pros and cons of allowing oneself a small taste vs. denial (more rightfully, I should "surrender"). So early last evening, he says, "let's go out for a treat."
We drove past 3 of our usual spots for ice cream, only to find them closed. So he opted to stop at the store to buy some. He comes out from the store empty handed, and I'm thinking this is a good sign. But no, he's coming out for more money, as he only had $3 in his pocket (and he'd invited me out with only $3???). Finally he comes out from the store announcing he'd bought Peanut Butter (I'm not fond of peanut butter, but figured I could eat around it) because it was the only one without chocolate, or just plain vanilla (which is what I'd asked for, just plain).
Well, we get home, settle in front of the TV and I go to portion out the treat...only to find it was Light Chocolate Peanut Butter!!!Needless to say, I had NONE!!
I got the message ...I wasn't supposed to have any ice cream!! Now, why is it that I am relieved of the obsession for chocolate, but not all the other stuff I crave??? Why can I easily pass up chocolate, but nothing else??
Krismasself- Why not have a 1/2 C of not fat ice cream or of Sugarfree? You can substitute it for one of your milk servings. (one Carb) If you are afraid that you will eat it all only buy a small container.
Traytobehealthy-HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Singing_girl- Welcome and join in. I love the kitty picture is it one of yours?

Pam we all have our down times. Just dont beat yourself up over it, you can do this and you will do this! We are here for you.
Aroscoe, Step away from the bacalava! throw a towel over it and put it away were you cant see it! lol Thats what I do when I have a pan of tempting treats in the house, that way I forget about it and I dont see it staring at me! lol
Tina Happy Birthday!!!! Hope its a great one Dec Bday buddie (mines tomorrow)
Ok yesterday I had a handful of fresh veggies and an apple and today so far I have had an apple. So I'm doing ok on that area and even got up and moved for 30 min today and for the first time I tried bulgur and LIKED it!!!! and plan to have it again soon its much better for you and less calories then rice and fills you up! Have a great day everyone and keep moving
aroscoe-Step away from the bacalava! Run! Hide it in the freezer! Give it to the neighbor.Feed it to the garbage disposer. DO NOT EAT THE BACALAVA!
Kris- I just thought of something. We use to make homemade Ice cream with the Scouts. Put 1/2-1 C of milk in a small ziplock bag add a little vanilla and equal. squeeze most of the air out of the bag and seal. Now get a large ziplock bag and fill it 1/2 full of ice and add some salt to the ice. Put the small bag of unopened milk in the large bag and close the large Ziplock bag. Now start getting your exercise by shaking the bag. ( only takes 5-10 min and you have ice cream.) You can add whatever you like to it fruit is a good choice. but eat it fast because it doesn't stay frozen for too long. Give it a try.
Lora
Hey, where'd everybody go?? Its been very quite here lately.
Ok so I got on the scale again this morning (I know bad idea to do this everyday!) and I went down again, back to 185. Not that I'm complaining but geeesh! why cant it just get past the 185 like 184!!! oh well it will, maybe Friday will be my lucky day. I will not weigh tell then. Have a great day everyone!
Lora, I got my veggies in yesterday but no fruit but will work on that today
